  1. Hi guys, I'm looking at putting some Pro Rack Whispar Bars on the Stag. Pro Rack don't have a listing, but after I sent them some measurements, they've come back suggesting that the S45 or S42 may fit. Understandably, they're not guaranteeing that they'll fit so my question is, has anyone fit some to their Stag? Cheers, - Lance
  2. I think he means this... Don't know how to get it off sorry, just thought I'd clarify what you were talking about. - Lamce
  3. Rather than starting a new thread, I'll carry this one on as it's still related. I installed my new pump today, seated it as low as possible, so hopefully it has fixed my problem, though only time will tell. As a side 'issue', when I turn the car on and the fuel pump primes, I get rather a loud, low chirp coming from the engine bay as the fuel system pressurises. Is this normal? - Lance
  4. I lowered my 180 on Tein lowering springs and the shocks were fine for a couple of years. I finally replaced them with Bilstein coilovers for track work. I actually preferred the ride comfort on the road with just the lowering springs. - Lance
  5. I thought about second hand, figured it'd be a gamble considering it appears to be an age thing rather than a break in the rubber. I will however give Dan a ring tomorrow and see what he can come up with. Cheers, - Lance
  6. Hi guys, Finally pulled finger and tracked down a leak in my stag today. Turns out, it's the rubber seal on the body, where there window comes up to. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what they've done to fix it? I'm assuming tracking down new seals would be near impossible or bloody expensive. Also, just to clarify, it's not the glass sealing onto the rubber that's the issue, it's the seal onto the body letting water in and behind the interior trim / down the seatbelt. Cheers, - Lance
  7. S1 1997 150,000kms. Still going strong. Mind you, I've put the neo into it so can't say much about the life of the engine. All and all, still a solid old girl. - Lance
  8. I can confirm, having followed this guide for my C34 S1 that it does in fact work. Just be careful when reinstalling the screws as they're quite easy to cross thread when you're in this tight spot. As a note, I had to disconnect the AC lines through the firewall to get to the core (best to get the gas discharged properly). Mine is a 27mm nut (personally didn't have that one in the tool box, so worth getting first). Also, it's a good time to take out your AC filters and give them a clean http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/281475-stag-series-2-air-con-filter-removal/ that'll give you a rough idea. - Lance
  9. Hey Scott, 600cc - $830nzd 850cc - $900nzd 1000cc - $900nzd 2200cc - $1700nzd - Lance
  10. I'm looking at the ones from Black Label Performance, Bob, are they the old ones? Currently making 270rwkw with 550cc injectors. Was planning on around 300 - 350rwkw. I emailed Sochi from Sthitec about it and he recommended 650cc~700cc for that power figure so I guess he was just covering ass if 550cc's will do the job... Cheers, - Lance
  11. Hi guys, This maybe a stupid question, but I've got the opportunity to buy some Deatsch Werks injectors and the 850cc and 1000cc are both the same price so I was wondering if there is any reason not to just grab the bigger ones? Cheers for any help, - Lance
  12. Hrmm, I've filled it up now and it seems to be fine with normal driving. Still haven't taken it for a boost yet so can't confirm what's going on with that yet. - Lance
  13. Okay, that's interesting to know. Nope, the lid of the cradle is missing. Other than that I guess I'll be looking at the fpr. - Lance
  14. The sock is down on the bottom of the cradle. I'll have a muck around with it tomorrow and see if I can get it seated lower. - Lance
  15. Had a look at pump position today, appears to be in the right place and secured by some wire ties, the holder is also secure to the bottom of the tank. I took a picture so I can get someone to double check that it is in fact seated properly. Cheers, - Lance
  16. Cheers guys, I'll be checking the pump position when I get a moment. I'm not sure about the fpr Bob, I don't know how to check for fakes. Though it seems to operate fine the rest of the time. I assumed it wasn't a common fault as it would be a tad of an over site from factory, still worth an ask though lol. - Lance
  17. Hi guys, When I bought my Stagea, the guy told me it started to surge if you got down to quarter of a tank. Now since I've owned it I've never been down to quarter except for over this weekend, and it does indeed surge when going up some inclines and when it comes onto boost. Is this a common thing in the C34's? If so, is there a fix for it? It's had a Walbro fuel pump put in which I'll check the placing of this coming weekend to make sure it's seated right. It's also had a Tomei fpr installed. Cheers, - Lance
  18. Cheers lads. Tial seems to be readably available over here and not silly money so that might be the go for the wastegate. As for the bov, I might look into GFB recalculating one or a good brand at a decent price. - Lance
  19. I guess it's probably a pretty open ended question, but what's recommended when it comes to wastegate and bov brand and quality wise? I'm currently running what seems to be a cheap nasty wastegate: I'm really just after quality at a reasonable price as I don't want to be mucking around with dodgy products. Obviously I'm unsure of what boost pressure will be after a tune but I wouldn't imagine it'd be more than 20psi. And a TurboSmart bov?: I'd like to get something reliable on there before I go for a tune in the new year and from what I've heard, that type of bov has been known to leak so I was looking for something like the HKS ssq that has the pull type relief system so as not to allow boost leak. Ideally I'd like something plumb back as tooot toooing isn't my jam lol. Any help would be appreciated guys, Cheers, - Lance
  20. Cheers chaps. I'll give it a go tomorrow. It's only happened since I had the plugs off the top of the fuel tank, so I'll check the connections there too. - Lance
  21. Hey chaps, The fuel gauge in my Stag has started playing up. Sometimes I'll be right at the bottom when I get in the car, but slowly come up once I've turned the car on. Other times it will have dropped a bit and will come up when the car is turned on. Any suggestions? Cheers, - Lance
  22. Hey guys. Got the head back on the Stag and fired it up tonight. Starts sweet and runs really well. Problem is the engine check light is on... Average. Anyway, I didn't leave it running long but noticed the engine check light was flashing on ACC. 8 Flashes and then 11 Flashes. I checked the ECU but it's got no LED's to reference (Link G4) So I'm assuming the engine check light might be the diagnostic light? S1 RB25DET Neo Cheers, - Lance
  23. I haven't actually got it back together yet, been stupidly busy. Might get into it this weekend if nothing pops up. - Lance
  24. Kind of. Injector 4 stuck open and it hydro'd itself when I was checking other stuff. I had the injectors cleaned but when I did a compression test cyl 4 and 5 came up low so I was thinking it was a break in the head gasket between the cylinders. Turns out it was so it's off with the head and new gasket time. I'm unsure if it was related to the stuck injector but it's all being fixed now. Cheer man, I figured it out soon after I posted this asking and scratching my head a bit. The one up the front is a real bastard but it's all off now. Cheers for the help. - Lance
  25. Hi guys. I'm doing the headgasket on the Stagea atm. I've got as far as getting the headbolts out but I can't seem to budge the head. Does it require a bit of force to separate it from the block or are there a few hidden bolts? rb25det neo btw. Cheers, - Lance
