Hi all,
Doing some maint on an RB20 before dropping it in. It has 119k on the clock, but would like to check the timing belt just to make sure that it has been looked after (and changed at 100k like it should).
So I marked out the CAS position on the cover before taking it off, now I have been thinking about giving the covers all a lick of paint while off the engine... but then I would loose my markings to get the CAS back on in the correct position!
any tips?
Thanks,
Ed.
mate i'm doing the rb20 into my s13 atm, i know a few ppl on the g/c.. pm me if you want details, i got my cut from asian auto spares, between g/c and bris (slacks creek area)
H all,
Looking to hear from R32 owners, the gearbox in mine is quite notchy to get over to 5th/reverse, all the rest are really smooth, is the gate just stiffer on that side or is there something wrong in my cogswapper?
Thanks,
Ed.
maybe seeming you will get some decent $$ for the SR20DET, get yourself a rb25det...
but going from sr20det to rb20det, same as above... why?
I am currently doing the conversion myself.. from sr20DE to rb20det any questions... let me know
Ok, did warm test, but my bro dropped the comp tester before we started ( :goddam: ) so the results may not be accurate!
1 - 145
2 - 145
3 - 145
4 - 145
5 - 145
6 - 150
Also cleaned the AFM and when gapping the plugs found one that was stuffed! Hopefully that is responsable for my miss!
As to the crappy idle, it's better but sill not good :cuss: it still hunts wont settle, but not as bad as before (I also found a vaccume leak)... so will need to check it out more!
idle is not ok see other thread .. uhh will find the link...
Will do warm test... post then wet test if needed .... what does the wet test prove that a 'dry' test wont??
Yeah...just stressin!!
I'mnot going to call the dude until after I have done the warm test.... doing it 2moro (just put it all back together)
The motor is smooth tho, no knocks/clicks/taps etc, so just hoping for the best 2moro... Will post up the results!
I hope its ok!
All I did was turn it over until the guage stopped moving... I did not do the same on all.. I was not counting.... just stopped when the guage stopped
I will do it at running temp.. see what I get then... I cant see how it will make a huge diff....
:coffee:
was cold..... hmmm maybe i should put it all back together and warm it up
is it really meangingless tho ? not even an indication of internal health ?
Hi,
As some of you may know from my other thread, I am having some trouble with a R32 front cut ...
I did a compression test 2nite, and was a little suprised with the results... so repeated the test 3 times with exactly the same results.... The motor only has 119000k on it.....
Results are ...
1 - 150
2 - 145
3 - 145
4 - 130
5 - 135
6 - 150
The cut has a 3 month warrenty... i've only had it a week, and have not made much inroads into stripping it... what do you all think? Call them and take it back?
Please help!
