  2. Both make very good parts. Neither of them invented the merged collector. I was making merged collector manifolds and merged collector split pulse manifolds 10 years ago and I didn't invent the merged collector either. I have seen pics of turbo setups from back in the 70's with merged collector manifolds. I am yet to see either of them do a true split pulse manifold. That’s not to say they are not making them I just haven’t seen one from them yet. By true split pulse manifold I mean all exhaust gasses from opposing cylinders kept separate all the way to the turbine and wastegate, or two wastegates used. If they don't make them yet ask them too. They both have the ability.
  3. As a generalisation. If a turbo is faulty it will usually fail in the first 5 minutes of use. Something else to think about when replacing a failed turbo is why did the first turbo fail? Just slapping another turbo on there and expecting it to of fixed other problems that may have cursed the other turbo to fail is a bit reckless. If a damaged turbo is replaced and the new turbo works for days, weeks or months before it fails it’s 99.99% of the time not a fault with the turbo. Turbos are spinning anywhere from 60,000rpm to 180,000rpm so if the turbo is faulty it will self destruct very fast.
  4. SR20 turbo kit. Kit is for S13 Silvia but will fit S12 and other. All brand new never used. Steam pipe Fantasy Performance manifold. merged collector. Internally wastegated. T03 foot print. Manifold comes with a life time warranty against cracking. Stainless steel 3" dump pipe. Suit Ford style Garrett T03, Precision T03, Billet T03, Maybe Turbonetics T03. 2.5" Stainless steel plumbing to the guard. On a Dyno Dynamics dyno this kit using a Billet Turbochargers Billet R-3 makes 380rwhp at 17-18psi and 15psi by 3600rpm. In a S13 Silvia this combo at that boost is good for a low 11sec pass at 120+mph. More boost would see a 10sec pass. Obviously your SR20 is going to need supporting mods to make this power with out going bang. Located on The Gold Coast, QLD, Australia. Kit without Billet Turbo $950.00 Kit with Brand new Billet R-3 ball bearing turbo (turbo come with full new warranty) $2800.00 You can read about the Billet Turbochargers advanced ball bearing system here All parts including the turbo are made in Australia. No cheap and nasty stuff here. The pic features a polished 3.8mm thick stainless steel manifold. The kit is exactly the same except it has a steam pipe manifold. Same manifold but in steam pipe. This add is for a mate. Timmy is the man to contact. Call, SMS or email him Call or SMS: 0419 774 487. Email: [email protected] PLEASE DO NOT PM ME!!!
  5. Hey Disco, All the Garrett GT 42's I have seen only have GMR turbines. That’s not to say they don't make a GT42 with a inconel turbine but I have seen quite a few and none of them have had inconel turbines. I will have a look at the smaller 94mm comp wheel soon as I have some time but the 102 GT comp wheel is from the same casting as the all the T series. There are so many options in trims with comp wheels and turbines available there’s a good chance what ever combo you are looking for, if its not already listed. Call them and they will most likely custom build it for you. By large frame I’m not sure what you mean. They make Billet ball bearing turbo's all the way up to 2400+hp single turbo's. Off the top of my head. Dyson Rotory are using them on there drag cars, Kiwi-RE use a Billet Pro DRAG 91-GT on a 20B making 1360hp no nos 35psi. There was a Supra at Sydney Auto Salon last year (MIS 2J) It has one of the smaller 80mm large frame Billet turbo's. It made 960rwhp no nos with one of the cylinders way down on compression. TURBZ_13 I have used many Billet turbo's on lots of different engines over the years. There are many people over on the Calaisturbo forums using them as well on RB's if you are looking for results on RB's. 6BOOST Kyle who dose manifolds for RB's uses alot of them including on his own car. The widebody blue R32 that won 6 cylinder Horse Power Hero’s at Summinats 20, 2007 is using one.
  6. Here’s the million dollar question! Where are your turbo’s been balanced? And Who is doing them? As far as I know there is only two turbo balancing shops left on the Gold Coast. Is your balancing getting done at MR Turbo in Gaven or the other place in Burleigh?
  7. Hey mate, Try giving MR Turbo Australia / Billet Turbochargers a call or email. They do ball bearing upgrades for RB20 & RB25 turbo’s Email: [email protected]
  8. Thats $700 There is a guy over on the CalaisTurbo forums doing divided manifolds for $1200. He call him self Extreme manifolds. I don't know how much the 6BOOST manifolds are but I would think they would be around the same price. Both these guys warranty there work. $1200 for a manifold or $3150 after shipping for a RB manifold. Hmm. That’s well over double. Maybe flick the local guys some extra cash and get a manifold made how you would like it. I'm all for supporting Australian product and businesses. I love great craftsmanship. And those manifolds are examples of great craftsmanship. I also like a value for money. I am happy to a bit extra and get a good product. But come on guys. Over $3000 for an exhaust manifold is getting a bit much. I think they would be good value under $1900 AUD here.
  9. I can appreciate the effort gone into developing his manifolds. Un-like the US unfortunately 321 and or Inconel tube is not readily available in Aus. If it was there would be no need to be using the heavy materials that we have been using. Yeah you’re right, it would probably be a fair price to get 321 or Inconel here and fabricate manifolds. But in the US where these manifolds are coming from 321 doesn’t cost much more than 304 or 316, and all grades of stainless are cheaper than here. What grade are these manifolds made from? I would like to believe there are many local fabricates that can build manifolds of similar quality here in Aus. The only issues I have ever had with my developed split pulse manifolds were trying to convince people they need a bigger wastegate or two wastegates. Just had a look at his SR20 manifolds. I only looked at the RB26 manifolds last time. The SR manifolds look very similar to the 4cyl manifolds I was doing. The thick wall (3.8mm) stainless steel split pulse SR manifolds I were doing were $1150.00 AUD inc GST un-polished FullRace Motorsports stainless steel split pulse SR manifold = $1650 AUD inc GST plus shipping from the US. At a guess that would be around $1850 by the time you get it. Pic of my 3.8mm thick wall S/S SR20 manifold polished. This manifold won 4cyl dyno comp at last QLD power cruise. Pic of FullRace Motorsports S/S SR20 manifold I hope this inspirers more local guys to pick up the pace with split pulse manifolds. Cheers, Fantasy. PS: SkylinesAustralia members and Moderators. I am no longer making manifolds for street cars. This is not an add. Please do not contact me wanting to buy a manifold.
  10. Welcom to a world of lag if you put them on your car.
  11. WOW Disco, Full Race Motorsport manifolds. I may be out of the street car manifolding business for now but for $2944 AUD inc GST plus shipping. Geebus!!! They do look well designed though and the welding is floorless. Still at that sort of money I would expect reasonably thin wall one peace 321 stainless or Inconel runners. (and maybe a heady) LOL! Maybe I expect too much. Meh. Kudos to the guy if people are paying the money for them. Starts to make some of the locally fabricated manifolds look like very good value. It would be good though to see more of the local lads making well designed high-quality twin scroll exhaust manifolds.
  12. The Turbonetics T72 has the same comp wheel but 72mm inducer as the Garrett GT4202R, HKS T51R and Billet 72, 74, and 76. The Turbonetics will most likely be non ball bearing but if it is the ball bearing version it only has one ball bearing. They also have an old school TO4 Turbine. Turbonetics do have a new line of turbo’s that use GT style turbines. They call them F1 turbines. I’m pretty sure the T72 is not apart of the new turbo’s. There new turbo’s are still only single ball bearing as well. The Turbonetics T72 is not a bad turbo but the other turbo’s have more advanced turbines, bearings and housings.
  13. The Blue Wide body 32 Skyline that won the 6 cylinder horse power hero's last Summinats was using a Billet 76-GTS. A guy over on the Calaisturbo.com.au forums has a single Billet Z-P on a SOHC RB30 making 590rwhp and running 9's in a street VL Calais. (The Billet Z-P is Billet Turbochargers version of the TO4Z) I have been using them for a couple of years. Billet Turbochargers spool up fast! The Billet Turbochargers are an Australian brand of ball bearing turbo's built by MR Turbo Australia. There's a link to there website in my signature.
  14. Turbo options: Hmm, At a guess the Garrett T51R would be the same as the HKS T51R but with out the HKS housings. I’m not a 100% on this; maybe Disco can shed some light. If it is, It has a T 76 comp wheel and old school TA51 turbine. Still good combos but there are newer more advanced turbo’s out there. I can think of two straight off the bat. First is the Billet 76-GTS Same comp wheel as the two above turbo’s but with a Inconel GT style turbine and different .75 A/R comp cover with 4” inlet and 3” outlet. Second is the Billet S75-GTS. The S75-GTS uses the same GTS turbine but has the latest technology ETT comp wheels that have a lower surge limit and wider efficiency range plus flow close to 10Lbs/min more than the T76 used in all the other turbo models mentioned. I’m running through the Billet range because they are turbos I am familiar with the specs. I’m sure there are probably other turbo that could get a mention I just don’t know them. Cheers, Fantasy.
