Did anyone find this screen under diagnostics? What is it? Tom

Hi all, I'm looking for a Japanese map dvd disc. My car didn't come with one every time I start the car the Sat Nav unit is looking for it. I also want to have a look at the file structure and see if it's in any way simular to the Carin/VDO system. So if you have one let me know and I buy it from you. A copy will do as well. Thanks, Tom

Hi All, I've got a set of 18" 350Z stock track wheels for sale. I only both them to get my V35 Skyline through compliance and rego. They are still in very good condition as you can see on the pics. They fit V35 Skylines and look specially good on S15 Silvias. I'm not sure about other Skyline models. Size: 18x8.0 Offset: +30mm 2 wheels have the stock Bridgestone RE040 Potenzas 225/45ZR18 with at least 50% tread left and 2 wheels have Kumho Ventus Sport K104 245/45ZR18 with at least 60% tread left Wheels are located in Canberra but I can post them anywhere you like at buyers expense. Has anyone seen a factory Cruise Control on 350GT? Are there any aftermarket options? Some US delivered G35 Coupes come with cruise control buttons mounted on the steering wheel. Since the throttle is already controlled by the ECU there shouldn't be any need for additional hardware. If the cruise control program is in all ECUs all we need is control buttons. The control buttons G35 are simply connected to ECU pin 99 via resistors. Has anyone tried this? Tom

Chris, The screen board as you could see does not have a CAN connection so it will definitely not affect your car in any way. The TV on the other hand has a CAN connection which I think is only used for diagnostics which can also be run from the Sat Nav unit. Disconnecting the TV will not shut the car down. After all you don't need a TV to run your engine. I wouldn't recommend shorting it out though. Tom

This is the connection board on the pop up screen. TV connects to the TV+ pin and I think the RGB pins connect to the Sat Nav unit. I couldn't get it working with 50Hz NTSC so it needs a proper 60Hz NTSC modulated signal.

How did you get the radio sorted? Are you using a band expander at all? Tom

Wiring in another Nav system shouldn't be a problem. The easiest way would be to use RGB connection if the Nav system has one but the OEM screen has both, RGB and composite video connections. The biggest disadvantage of that option for me is that you can’t use the original controls any more. The same goes for the stock TV, it’s easy to replace it but then you need to use another remote to actually control it.

Is the base timing mechanically adjustable at all? I think you will need a Cunsult II or Cypher software to change it. Tom

I also though about swapping the tuner module but it's controlled by that Hitachi H8/3640 MCU using I2C protocol. Getting compatible PAL tuner would be very difficult. I've pulled the tuner module apart and I'm going to try some different crystals and SAW filters. I'm still waiting for my PAL to NTSC converter though. Tom

I don't think it will be as simple as remapping the TV tuner. For start Japan uses 60 Hz NTSC system where Aussie channels are 50 Hz PAL. You will need to convert the video signal back to NTSC if you want to use the original screen which is easy to do if the screen can handle 50 Hz signal. Second problem is the sound. Sound is in different location in PAL system compare to NTSC system that’s why the tuner with IF amp are having trouble to lock on the stations. If anyone has any ideas and is willing to work on this project let me know. Tom

What's the "dealer-installed Xanavi DX305 series DVD navigation system"? I assume that’s different to what comes with V35 Skylines. Tom

I only had bad experience with them. Unfortunately they were the only people I could use to do the work (as they made me believe). Phil is a second generation used car salesman, the BS flows in his blood.

Yes there is a green power LED. You will need to connect the IGN ON pin as well. I will make some changes and post a test downloader here soon. Tom

I don't think HKS would try to use a narrow band sensor to aim for A/F ratio other then 14:7. No there is no way to find out the shop. I could find the password (if there is one) but its in a different memory location. It could be a soft rev limiter. F-con V Pro has 2 and the other one is set to 20000 but don’t know which one is which. Tom

I'm not sure about the launch control, how did you activate it?
