  1. There is a request for a highlands/wollongong meet up on the way to loftus. Can i please have an indication of interest for this please? I am intending on being at loftus around 9:15 to attempt to be the first car there. This would constitute a meet up at yallah shell around 8:00 -8:15.
  2. Ahhhh !! You said the " r " word. I have scheduled for the day off for the last month and a half. Im going rain snow or shine, however if it IS raining, we wont be going through the nasho, we will shortcut down the freeway to stanwell tops. Obviously we wont have as good a turn out in the wet, but i will refuse to let the day down. The few brave souls who turn up ( if there is bad weather ) i will find a more relaxed spot to finish the day. Here's hoping the weather is just windy or overcast. I will make another statement saturday 10-11am, and again at 8:30 after i finish work.
  3. I spied a very nice white R34 turning up sally's corner road today, from my eagle's view up at work at the twin shells. PM me if its you, trying to get a local southern highlands roll around happening.
  4. We are well and truly on track for next weekend!! Hope to see you all there.
  5. Black R35 GTR on its way through moss vale today. Starting to have major jealousy issues.
  6. Gun metal R35 GTR in maino of bowral today. Looks nice parked up.
  7. Anyone who was intereted in coming on the recon cruise who owns a GTR ( any model ) please Pm me. Whilst I dont mind running the pack, would be awesome to have a flagship at the front. Thanks and it doesnt overly matter, just an interest
  8. I remember the last time i went on thr valley cruise back in 2011. We went past quite a few hwp and none of us got harrassed. That was a good 20 odd cars. If there is any sign of the defect station on the recon cruise we will move the start to helensbergh/stanwell tops and a later start. Whilst we all own cars that are unfortunatly targeted thanks to the stupidity of others, im sure they will leave us alone if we are complying with the speed limit.
  9. UPDATE: I have been shafted with rego and need two tyres which has blown me over my budget this weekend, but I have enough information to label the date. Recon cruise will be shortly ( cruise organisers/helpers expect a PM ) THE CRUISE ITSELF WILL BE ON THE 6TH OF JULY, 10 AM START. Please consider this written in gold. I was unable to edit my original post. Thankyou to everyone for your patience, please spread the word and I will hope to see you there.
  10. Update: On track for rego next thursday. Cruise organisers and anyone interested in a quick recon cruise will be pm'd. At this rate 6th of july is the day. Will update main post after recon day. Thanks for everyones patience.
  11. I really like my car haha... I dont like my odds of getting out of canterbury heh.
  12. Being brutally honest, The reason there isnt a date yet, is because my car runs out of rego on the 2nd, and having just scored a job and being broke as a homeless bum, i need two weeks to get 6 months rego. The recon cruise will be the immediate weekend, and the cruise itself 2-3 weeks after that depending on offical SAU events. My best guess is the 6th of july, but i dont want to put it in gold until i have rego. Thankyou for your understanding.
  13. No, your right, robertson to bowral is my local area and the roads arent bad at all. the recon is more for photo stops, rather than the actual condition of the roads. And for desmond to come for a social trip heh. I am unsure why the google map is diverting through tourist road, on my screen i clearly have it going through robertson, otherwise why mention robertson at all heh. Im sure the rest of the map is sufficent for people to have the gist of the route, i hope.
  14. Thats really bizarre, Mine doesnt show tourist road. Just assume that we are NOT taking tourist road, obviously that road is no where near acceptable for lowered cars at the end.
  15. Hello everyone. Below follows the proposed cruise from Loftus Tafe, to Mittagong RSL. The date is yet to be announced, but we are looking at around late june/early july. Planned for a sunday, saturday on popular request. 10 am start, proposed arrival inbetween 1-2 pm depending on traffic, stops, etc. Map URL: https://goo.gl/maps/yxEb0 The cruise will begin at Loftus tafe, or simular location, and then head to Wollongong via The National Park and Stanwell Tops. There will be an attempted photo stop at Stanwell Tops lookout, depending on the amount of attendance on the day. From stanwell tops, we will be taking the seacliffe bridge coast road until Bulli/Woonoona, where we will then take the freeway to Albion Park in preperation for Maquarie pass. There will be a fuel/drinks/toilet stop at Yallah shell service station for those that require it, whilst the rest of the group will wait on the outskirts of Albion Park. There will be a second availability for fuel at Robertsons Enhance station, however their site is small and their premium is laced with E10 ( I use it, haven't had a problem yet). Please let us know on the day if you believe you will be fueling up at Robertson. From Albion park it will be a straight run up the pass, till sheepwash road, and then directly through the Bowral bypass into Mittagong, hanging a left at the mcdonalds before parking at the RSL. Unfortunately, the southern highlands has limited area's that can accomodate a large group of car's, thus prompting the RSL as the final stop, as they have ample parking and decent facilities for a nice chilled afternoon. If this cruise blows out past 40 cars, which would honestly be amazing, there is ample parking at a marketplace underground parking a short walk from the RSL. From Mittagong, it is a simple matter of heading north before you are back on the Hume HWY and towards Sydney/Picton road for the coast people. With the RSL, obviously certain dress code's apply,as I am sure you are aware of. ( Singlets, thongs etc.) If the attendance isnt too high, ( 10 cars ) Berrima Pub will be the back up location for a more personal end to the day. Photographers are more than welcome, and we have some good idea's on the day to make use of you. This cruise will have a recon day with cruise organisers 2-3 weeks ahead of time, and this post will be updated with a fixed date with the same amount of notice. Another obvious note, this cruise will be driven under SAU guidelines, any anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. We all enjoy enough attention from HWP as it is. Hoping for a dominate Nissan day, but obviously all makes are welcome. The more the better. Any further questions please feel free to PM myself, Thanks and looking forward to this big time, Josh.
  16. No worries mate, would be great to have some helping hands if this cruise gets a little crazy. Pm me anyone who would wanna help with this. Thanks in advance.
  17. As i said i will be doing a drive through to check and make sure, even though my car isnt lowered i always keep them in mind. If HWP have been frequenting the area ( last time i was there was 2011 before i left for canada ) i will pick a more suitable route. As normal and per SAU, cruises will be done at the speed limit and on a mature level. If sutherland nasho proves unsuitable i will extend the cruise the other direction, and we will take kangaroo valley/sheepwash road, however woonoona via stanwell tops then robertson via maquarie pass was the main plan. Will post event after i check both routes.
  18. Well no i wasnt there. Im sure if you hadve stopped, thus stopping everyone behind you, and said " hey this is f**king bullshit lets all reverse out of here " a lot of people wouldve been like " well shit if he wont take the GTR any further why would we ". I know i would have been right behind you in that case. Anyhow, enough said on it. Whats done is done. For an FYI, i will be organising a coastal cruise, on sealed roads, starting near the sutherland nasho and finishing in my local area at the robertson pie shop/robertson itself/ a suitable establishment in bowral if i can find one. This will be mid to late june. Once my car gets registered. 2-3 weeks notice will be given and a complete pre cruise scout, route maps and a basic itinery. Details soon, and again sorry to everyones car who got damaged and all the best.
  19. Love would have found a way. Surely hazard lights on, and your head out the driver window while you slowly reversed back up the road until you found a non scrape zone to turn around. Im sure owning a GTR would require a certain degree of driver skill on any trip, to the shops or around the block, speed bumps are mans edition of an unsealed road pot hole and they are everywhere. Im sure you wouldnt attempt to sue the council because you believed you were forced to drive over a speed bump in your lowered car. You still decided to continue on regardless of road texture and this is why damages where inflicted. Still not defending the cruise organiser either.
  20. Im sure you would have been able to turn the car around. Even a 90 point turn could have gotten you back out. Skylines dont have bad turning circles at all. I am not meaning to be rude, but if I had the lucky stars of owning an GTR, of ANY model, the second I smelt dirt i would have pulled over to the side, waited for the rest of the cruise to pass, then commited to however many points of a turn, and said to hell with this and left the cruise. Whilst being a new member may render you ignorant to the difference between an " offical " cruise, and a cruise organised and permitted on the forums under the use of SAU cruise policies, it does not render you ignorant of common sense. Having a small dirt road access myself, out here in the sticks, i can tell you that if my skyline was lowered i would be keeping it at my girlfriends house, up the road on sealed road access. Just common sense. In saying that, the cruise organiser is in no way obliged to pay you a cent for the damages you racked up driving your car down an unsealed road. There was no documents signed accepting responsibility or liability for damage. I am not defending the cruise organiser either. Committing to an unsealed road section for the cruise is just bizarre, and regardless of good intentions, stupid. There should have been notice and alternative routes in place with leading cars and a waiting place/alternative photo stop. Obviously, some things have been politically said in the heat of the moment, but at the end of the day no one was holding a gun to your head. I wish your car a speedy recovery and perhaps with this experience in tow a better event for the organiser in the future.
  21. Hey guys, wont be able to make it today, a few too many last night. Hope its a blast.
  22. Yep thats me mate. You coming on the cruise this weekend?
