  1. I'm also using a hybrid manifold, with 500hp. Quality part for the price you pay. I wasn't too keen on the wastegate pipe design though so I cut it off and made my own.
  2. Pushing probably 300ml of oil after a few short full throttle runs. Non neo head. My engine was just never tuned with vct as the tuner was not aware it was functional. I figured it would be easier to block then run a hose if it wasn't in use. I'm thinking a lighter oil, plumb up the vct drain and see how it goes. I was more interested to hear if the vct drain had any impact on pooling. Cheers.
  3. Sump breather is t'd to the valve cover fitting, so basicly bypassed the valve cover and goes straight to the catch can. Il have a read of the tread. Roughly tops 90 psi as the pump still has both springs. I have always thought the 25-60 is very thick but a reputable rb tuner in my area swears by it. Probably so thick it won't drain back quick enough.
  4. After a couple hours search I am unable to find a definant answer. My fresh 25/30 engine of roughly 6000km is starting to breath with hard street driving. Engine has a nitto pump, 1.5mm with the other blocked, returnes enlarged, sump vented to valve cover, running fuchs 25-60 oil. My main question is, I'm not running vct but have done the internal mod todo so, and have blocked the vct oil drain. Now, does the vct oil drain, ONLY drain oil from the vct feed? Cheers lads
  5. UPDATE... After the engine was ran in I strapped it down again which it made 320kw on 20 psi, and having iat problems. I then fit a new plazmaman intercooler and ran it on the dyno with pump e85 making 374kw on 21psi, which is all the little t67 will do.
  6. Ok cheers for the input guys, cooling pro seems to be a no go. I have heard good results about the base model plazmaman so that sounds the go. Il have a quick geez through the hypergear thread. I was at 345kw at which the cooler dropped it's efficiency.
  7. I was thinking plazmaman, not too keen on another ebay cooler in case the same thing happens. has anyone had success with cooling pro coolers from just jap?
  8. Yeah I reckon the pwr would be a bit out of my price range being in tassie it doesn't exactly get that hot ha. It already has a 600×300 cooler so I wouldn't think bigger or thicker would help much. Turbo is relatively small being a kinugawa t67 with a t04z compressor housing and 10cm rear turbine. Engine temp seems to be fine and sits around the 80° mark under load. I only have one temp sensor on the cold side of cooler piping.
  9. Hi ladies and gents. I recently had my built 25/30 tuned, now anything over 20 psi my intercooler just ran out of efficiency and intake air temps raised dramatically. Currently I have a cheap ebay cooler, what brand intercooler have people had success with? Having a look on forums intercoolers seem to be a non existing topic. Any advice would be great, Cheers!
  10. And have a good look at the pistons to make sure the ring lands ain't cracked, they can be rather tricky to see.
  11. I blocked my vct oil drain off, haven't had a problem with the couple thousand kays I have put on my engine.
  12. Simon I think you just had a freak 30 bottom end ?
  13. I dont think safely machining the piston down enough will achieve near the 8.6;1 cr. If it were me i would find some new pistons or sacrifice and use a non neo head. With your current pistons, 53.5cc and say a 1.5mm head gasket @ 0mm piston to deck height will be 10+cr. all comes down to what the engine is going to be used for and what fuel will be used, ideally you wanna get into the 9.0:1 cr.
  14. I would be checking ignition timing and cam timing.
