Been waiting for this one since January!
Cheers.

maybe one of your valve springs is sad when it gets hot?
We ended up solving her problem - it was similar to mine...

Nice car dude!
You should join the club - you get access to free info nights and discounts at special events where you get to compete using your beast

Spotted a sexy aqua colored charade with a SAU sticker parked in UWS parramatta campus in parking spot 142.... What a beast

It is stupid, especially when you own a GTR and see a GTST or GTT with one.
Its like the owner has a massive L tattooed to his forehead.
They are tryhards, they should stick to the shopping list down the side of the doors on their stocky setup.
Edit, Im sure Holden V8 owners think the same when they see a V6 Commonwhore with Chev badges.
Usually those drivers include a seat reclined all the way back, the boot rattling from the subs, and the cap turned backwards and to one side for extra down force when the cabin vents are open......
Love this! ... Always see red p platers with the gts and the shopping list down the side their door. Makes me cringe....

NOX level too high again, this time it was 1.30 max it's allowed is .63, from everywhere I've read is high combustion temperature/car running too lean.
So tomorrow I'm gonna make a pipe to sit where the air flow meter sits and pump it up with 20psi of air and check for a air leak, thats all I can really think of it being, and also check my fuel pressure incase my fuel pump is pooping itself causing it to lean out, and far out with Australian restrictions lol, I wish I was in America right now because CRC has a product called G2P (Guaranteed to pass) that you put in you're fuel and somehow it just kills all of the levels for a emissions test lol.
As far as the THX and Co2 is concerned its way below the allowable limit, THX is .20 and CO2 is 0.02 this time, gotta wait till next Wednesday again ffs.
That sucks so bad! I read somewhere ages ago that retarding timing and raising idle and adding fuel pressure will help reduce NoX.... Not 100% sure though.
Good luck next time!

that's horrible for flow, why not just weld a gate flange off the rear housing?
I can't figure out who to goto to get a wastegate welded on... I'd personally prefer it welded on the manifold.
-
why not just buy one of these? $75 bucks
http://drivenperformance.co.nz/products-page/turbos/turbo-adaptor-t3-t3-with-38mm-wastegate-port/
Has anybody ever tried this?
Seems like a good idea however you'd have to get new oil and coolant lines because they won't read the turbo...

So I just got back from the inspection and here's some feedback.
They cleared everything although I got a defect notice for blue slip because I need to get an Engineers Certificate for my Exhaust, Wheels and Intercooler, also my boot brake light wasn't working (the f**ker was working when I checked this morning), number plate obscured apparently by my rear view camera pfff, so now I'm on the hunt for a Engineers Certificate.
Congratulations on the clearance... Did they actually use any tools in this inspection or is it just a quick look over?
-
And pour it in your petrol...
-
Misfiring and leaning out would be the main symptoms... Eventually your injectors will also get ruined.
Just go buy a bottle of octane booster/injector cleaner
-
That tech night will be awesome - I'll keep an eye out for it
-
Do you have to go to a certain workshop or can you choose where to go? That will make the biggest difference in this situation.
I learnt this recently. I got done for alot more than what you did. We went back to stock on most of what I got done for, and come blue slip day the bloke told me he doesnt mind passing me even if it was the same as when I was defected...
Mine was ticked AUVIS, it is strange you got HEAVY vehicle inspection station ticked...
That's why I was confused - skyline isn't a heavy vehicle... Should just be an AUVIS defect. :S
-
I wish that was the case, unfortunately the popo ticked the HVIS which is the rta heavy vehicle inspection station, where they normally love to rape people.
Good luck dude - it sucks sometimes how they target us as opposed to real crims!
-
I got nothing important to commit to the topic but I got a return question - can't you just get it cleared by a mechanic who does blue slips or do they actually require you to drive to their inspection centre?
-
If you get stuck I've got one in Melbourne that I could post to you for $35 total.
Bump... If I get stuck for another week, I'll just end up grabbing it off you!

You located in Sydney west?

When I first bought my car, I forgot to change the spark plug gap and it cause the biggest and most retarded misfire.
You sure you've gapped your plugs properly???

If you still interested - text me on 0434 242 667.

Hey guys,
Looking to buy 1 x 660cc injector for an rb25det.
I'm located in Sydney West (Parramatta). I'm hoping to be able to buy it from someone in Sydney as I'd prefer to pick it up myself.
Thanks in advance.

A good way to probe the back of any terminal or connector is to insert a small pin into the back of the wire terminal first, and then probe that pin with your meter. Helps to get a good solid connection into the wire (for accuracy, especially in this situation, where 0.5v can mean a pass or fail) and also doesn't damage the wiring or terminal from trying to jam a big probe in there.
Yeh - I wish I had read this post before I attempted it myself . Luckily the plugs for my ecu have a large enough gap to fit my probes.
