  3. hey guys i know i been asking lots of stuff lately but thats just the way it is hahaha :headspin: well my next question is on brakes... i presume all the skyline rotors and calipers r a direct bolt on????? (considering the autech version came with em) im looking at some r33 brembos from the gtr and was wondering if they bolt on ? ill be getting some new bigger rotors from dba or something when i do the upgrade (what size are stock gtr rotors on the 33?) , whats the biggest rotors i can fit under 17" rims ???? is the stagea brake booster big enough to support the brembos? or will i need a different booster??? which type if i have to change? p.s. i cained a vs 5L v8 ute today by about 5 car lengths hehe, and you should of seen his face any more info welcome cheers Brad
  4. hey guys as u know the auto stageas come with the foot handbrake where the clutch is usually (pretty close anyway), so what do the manual stageas run??? its abit in the way for the clutch so ill have to remove it to fit the pedal, is that the case???? any ideas on how to set it up if i have to move the location? where can i mount it ? any ideas appreciated Brad

  6. hey guys i found a r32 gtr 5 speed for sale and i was wondering whether its easier to use the 33 or 32 box and whether they are the same ???? also does the front tailshaft from the auto fit the gtr 5 speed by any chance or will i need a gtr one? is the attessa 4wd stuff run by a computer??? or hydraulics? or what? and if its run by ecu, is it seperate to the engine ecu??? sorry for the billion q's again but i wanna make sure i buy the right stuff 1st time round will i need to get a gtr rear tailshaft as well i presume???? i need to sort out what i need and what i dont need thanks again Brad

  8. hey guys well today i put a deposit on a 96 stagea with 17' rims and new tyres, 3" cat back zorst, lowered, sunroof x2, spotless condition pretty much for $18 200 bargain :Party: it was from cannington auto wholesale b4 anyone asks conversion will start very very soon drives beatifully and actually goes pretty well for a stocker engine pulling such a large car i like the sunroofs the best :Party: cant wait to pick it up on saturday morning cya guys Brad
  9. hey ken how ya goin, yes i am gonna be putting the stagea 25 into the vl and sell it and put the 26 and a gtr box into the stagea i been told the stagea sump is exactly the same as the gtr ones, is that right??? ill prolly be goin for a recond gtr box or something so i know the condition of it 4wd it will stay cheers Brad
  10. it was a joke, and it would help keep potential thieves away :uh-huh: but ill just leave it badgeless id say i found one with 80 000km, auto, 2.5L turbo, 17' rims and new tyres, 550cc inj, pod, high flow turbo, lowered, tein susp, dark tint, 80mm front mount cooler, velour interior (i hate leather personally :uhh: ) and a few more mods for $24k which isnt too bad considering its immaculate body and looks awesome with rims, tint and suspension :jump: come one please give us some info anyone Thanks Brad

    Exhaust

    hey guys i was wondering is there enough room under the stagea to run twin 3" to the rear either together or one each side, crossing over under the tailshaft or something???? i would like a complete twin 3" system (one from each turbo all the way to twin exhuast at the rear bumper) could i fit 2 mufflers on each pipe??? and 1 cat on each??? :confused: prolly wont fit but just asking before i purchase a stagea :jump: i want it to be very queit and not be excessivly loud like the engine is in the vl atm with a hotdog muffler and another rear resonator, deafening is the word :uhh: cya guys Brad
  12. whats needed to do the conversion??? :confused: do the skyline pedals fit ?? hows the attesa hooked to the gearbox etc??? do i just leave the attessa stuff from the stagea original box and run that on the gtr box (and gtr engine)???? sorry but im dying to find out as hopefully within a week or two i will be getting a nice stagea i seen :jump: and then ill start the conversion :uh-huh: looks awesome :boinkcar: cya Brad
  13. hey guys i got a rb26 engine with a 300zx tt 5 speed box and i recently got a twin plate clutch made which cost a fortune and i was wondering whether i could use it in a stagea with rb26 engine and rb26 box???? or do i need a new one to suit the gtr box??? i hear about this "push" and "pull" stuff so im unsure if i can use it :confused: hopefully someone can help Brad

  15. hey guys i been thinkin of getting a 4 door skyline r33, but, they are rare as shit, so im thinkin the stagea looks more sutle to keep cops and attention away, plus its got heaps of room and 4 doors. i got a rb26 atm with a 2wd rb25 modified sump (8L) and i was wondering firstly how hard it is to convert the stagea to rwd besides the sump, like do i need any front suspension parts off the 2wd r33's??? and option 2 is to get a 4wd gtr sump (or can i use the stagea sump?) and get a r33 gtr 5 speed and install them into the stagea to run 4wd, or is it more difficult than that? is the gearbox and attesa stuff from the gtr need to be transferred into the stagea or do they have it already or what??? custom tailshaft i presume??? or will stagea one fit ? sorry but im really lacking in knowledge of the stageas and i love sleepers :bananaman might even debadge it and put volvo and deisel badges on it :elaugh: thanks guys, any little bits of info is most welcome as i know 0 about them :Paranoid: Brad
  16. well said Roy that is exactly how i feel, i got a RB26 in a VL and recently ran at drags and in the 2 meetings i came home with something broken. started with the diff spinning upwards on the axle housings and causing the rear uni joint to snap. next time snapped the front uni joint, fully bent the diff lower arms like an L shape and also snapped the uni joint holder on the gearbox yoke which is unfixable and i spent like 6 months looking for the yoke and it cost $200, so now i gotta get a new one, or change to auto for less impact on the driveline. twin plate clutch and 10" slicks dont help the breakages. so now im deciding to put engine in a gts-t and stay well away from the drags to save my box, and uni joints, and the like. oh btw i ran a best of 12.04 @ 118mph sorry for the ramble hahaha Brad
  17. hey sydneykid cheers for the help mate, well i got the harness from the vl engine bay for the autronics so i just run the wiring through firewall and plug into autronics ecu, and connect power, earth, etc Yes to which one??? also how do i go about connecting the relay for the external 044 pump??? which wires do i need, and what do i need ? cheers again Brad
  18. hey guys i got a rb26 in my VL atm which i want to put into a r33 gts-t (4 door maybe) and i am gonna use the rb26 engine, rb25 box, 044 fuel pump, gtr cooler, autronics ecu, etc. so i need some answers... can i still run the climate control with the rb26 installed and autronics ecu??? tailshaft from the gts-t will fit perfectly won't it??? will a GTR throttle cable fit perfectly??? will the 044 fuel pump be simple to install???? (its an external one is that ok???) will the rb25 power steering pump bolt str8 onto the rb26???? will the rb25 air con bolt str8 onto the rb26 or can i use the rb26 one if it doesnt fit??? anymore little things i need to know??? hopefully someone can help before i start the conversion so i know exactly whats to be done and the hassles involved thanks alot guys Brad
  19. sorry to be off topic but every post i see from sydneykid is of excellent quality and as others said he is teaching everyone something new keep it up so also with my rb26 with 6 throttles bodies, and autronics be a problem to tune with more power? (currently got 350hp atw, 12.0 @ 118mph) cheers Brad

  21. hey thanks for the reply sydneykid took turbos to turbo shop today and he reckons its been runnin too lean and getting too hot and its got the turbos outta shape, they where rebuilt a year ago with bigger wheels etc and ive only drivin it for about 30 min all up in that time so they are fixing em for nuthin luckily does this sound like shit or what??? everyone always says its somone elses fault cheers Brad
  22. hey mate on spooling up i have noticed occasionally a whooshing sound that varys in level when power comes on (hard to explain sorry ) i know its not the bov and it sounds like a shhh shhh shhh shhh noise as it boosts up. also we just pulled engine out and noticed the front compress housing on one the turbos was loosely bolted on and could this cause the prob???? (the housing spins freely around) air filters are brand new k&n pods with custom hpc coated 2.5' intake pipes to the turbos different dyno days so the 270 was about 6months ago (car doesnt get used much ) in 4 years ive used it about 5 times to the post about cost, well insurance is $2500 a year which is full cover under my dads name and only 1 company in oz would insure me at the time, which i was 19 i think now it its in garage and is regoed but no insurance, cause it costs to much atm cosidering i dont drive it much. conversion labour was zero as my and my dad did it all at home. to do it right it costs a fair bit, but its well worth it, when it goes good it goes good on stock boost when it made 280 at wheels it was fast (well i thought so, after rb30et experience) i got an old website about 3 years ago now but it gots some pics if ya interested www.geocities.com/psi_vl engine is now fully polished and engine bay is finished etc etc etc PM me if you are after more specific info mate cheers for all ya help Brad
  23. the fuel supply and spark are perfect and the autronics dyno maps show this to be the case. so i dont think it is a fuel or spark prob (all inj are workin i checked and all coils r fine too) also the answer to the question is NO, i didnt get them checked could the autronics be saying the fuel supply and spark are fine but there could be a problem???? i thought the autronics would pick this up for sure??? cheers for the suggestion mate bloody frutstrating for me dammit i want power :aroused: Brad
  24. also btw we tried unbolting exhuast b4 the cat (twin 3' dump pipes) and it still made no difference in power. its manual 5 speed and twin plate clutch which all seem perfect we also unbolted the stock twin turbo badged pipe over the turbos and started it and revved it and both turbos spooled up and sounded fine (both pumping same airflow by the feel.) also spark plugs 3 and 4 (middle 2 cylinders) are really really black and the rest are fine, any problems there??? cheers Brad
  25. hey guys i recently had my rb26 vl tuned on 18psi and it would not make anything over 200hp at wheels even on this boost, the autronics shows everything is ok, the turbos are highflowed units, the car runs perfect, but it is gutless coming on boost?? and on the dyno graph compared to a stock turbos gtr it starting making boost 700rpm earlier and the curve is rough and stuttery (btw previously on 7psi it got 276hp atw) only mods changed are 700cc injectors we have checked compression which is perfect no rags in cooler pipes ive checked fuel maps and spark maps are perfect!!! even though hp curve isnt (up and down) so my guess is a stuffed turbo maybe??? any ideas people, please i need help thanks Brad
