  1. what ratio is the stagea front and rear diffs? what ratio is a r32 gtr? and a 33 gtr? how can i tell them apart? cause ive got a gtr sump modified and its got the gtr front diff in it still and i was wondering whether it was the same as the stagea one so it matches the diff one thanks Brad
  2. hey mate well plans atm are rb26 engine gtr 5 speed twin plate clutch highflowed turbos (stock housings, bigger wheels) sard 700cc injectors twin 3" k&n pod filters 3" cooler piping 3" intake pipes to turbos bosch motorsport 044 fuel pump, and better intank pump (not sure what yet) gtr intercooler autronics smc ecu custom BOV oil catch can external oil filter kit enlarged and baffled sump in the vl it made 350rwhp only revvin to 7200rpm, and can rev to 8500rpm but i told him to be easy incase something is worn and i really wanted to use it abit b4 i blew it up thats the stuff i have atm from the vl so next upgrades are... apexi or similiar 100mm+ cooler hks 2530 turbos with those 2 mods alone my tuner reckons power will go from 350rwhp with highflows to 450rwhp with 2530s and cooler, boost and the 2530s will be more responsive than the highflow turbos as mine are slightly laggier than stock gtr ones and hks 30s r the same as stockies :headspin: so in the vl it did 12.0 @ 118mph (low 11s roughly) thats on slicks too. with 4wd it should be a 12 second car for sure and with the 2530s maybe 11s on street tyres is possible sure will shock the local hsv/xr6T guys a volvo shaped wagon eating there 80K hsv :aroused: thats enough from me cya Brad
  3. hey happymeal yep i take all the photos myself latest update on the stag 26 conversion: we have cut a 4" hole in the firewall to recess the clutch master vacuum booster into the cabin abit to clear the engine pedal box is mounted and lines up perfecto with the other pedals got the front struts off atm, and repainting all the underside of the gaurds, and struts/suspension stuff to clean it all up. getting the bonnet latch, radiator mounts and a few other bits and pieces chromed while they are off too cause they look like shit atm. took a photo of the suspension springs and shocks, ones cleaned and ones how it looked when they came off the car 26 will be test fitted next weekend to check clutch master clearance and try out my new baffled enlarged gtr sump i just got :aroused: gotta move the power steering resoviour to the front so i can fit two 3" intake pipes on the inlet side just needs two longer hoses (thankfully it aint the metal lines i gotta change) gotta make the front pipes from dumps/cat convertor after that and then sort out the handbrake using a r33 one probably, then the tricky wiring and stuff is gonna be sorted by hyperdrive motorsport thankfully so around end of january and it should be goin if everything goes to plan cya Brad

  7. hey tigerleo welcome to the slowly growing owners of stageas in perth they are a really nice smooth car to drive, but manual would be more fun, but thats life we should organise a cruise in a few months when i get mine on the road. doin the rb26/gtr 5speed conversion :aroused: should be a bloody weapon sleeper :headspin: where did u purchase it from??? auto wholesale??? good luck with the new ride cheers Brad
  8. dont mess with anything on the rb20, sell it and get a 26 as others said and with 17psi, high flow turbos, 700cc inj, mine made 350rwhp only revvin to 7100rpm still pulling hard! thats 118mph and 12.0 at drags in a vl too (mph is low 11s) i have had a rb30et engine and it is like a truck engine, slow, doesnt like to rev, and also had a rb25, which aint nuthin compared to the 26 so thats my 2c worth. 26 is like a reliable rotory i reckon, they just love to scream and rev best engine by far (my opinion)

  10. hey guys i got a rb26 with 350rwhp (in 2wd in a vl) atm on 17psi, with bigger inj, highflow turbos, pods, zorst, etc and i am getting the 4wd gtr sump enlarged and baffled as we speak and i was wondering what sort of power figures do i require a better oil pump? whats the n1 pump good upto? is it worth getting the n1 pump or another jap brand for the extra $$$??? im using the car mainly for street use and the occasional track day or drag meet if thats any relevance cheers Brad
  11. hey guys i got a autronics smc running my rb26 engine which is absolutely faultless and runs and starts perfect every single time, even 6 months after not runnin the engine after 1 crank it starts and idles like a kitten i reccomend the autronics and i think u need to find a good tuner also which is the main factor in making it run correctly like a stock ecu controlled car mine is tuned by GTRKen's business partner lumpy campbell and he does an awesome job of tuning and so far i have 350rwhp on 17psi (basic mods) and it still drives like a stock vehicle. go hyperdrive for anyone in WA :headbang: p.s. ive had no experience with motec to comment on that cheers Brad

  13. hey guys i was wondering whether anyone knew of any quick stageas in japan running down the 1/4 mile, whats the fastest time anyone has heard besides the 11.7 from the NZ bloke on hear which is the best i know of anyone ?
  14. hey guys my stagea is getting my old setup from my vl which consists of 2 10" orion subs, 2 alpine v12 amps, and two mb quartz 6.5' upfront and 2 of the same in the rear mounted on the front of the sub boxes. headunit is a clarion deck with all the fruit :wassup: gonna do one sub on each side so space is still usuable mount the subs facing the opposite side of the car and towards the roof so pretty much on a 45 degree angle to the boot floor and then the rear splits mounted facing opposite corners of the front pillars (hard to explain) and prolly mount the amps fluch in the floor (raise the floor alittle bit maybe) should pump some nice bass anyway thats the planned setup once the engine install is done atm the vl is about 2 days from getting sent to the shop for the ecu and tune, so ill be getting on with the 26 install very very very soon :aroused: cheers Brad
  15. hey guys well finally i have began the project and the rb25 is now out and i have fully cleaned the engine bay (think of 8 years worth of grease and sand) :goddam: cut the hole for the clutch master cylinder today and it seems it aint gonna fit with the vacuum booster on it, so does a 260rs use the booster or have they got a space in the firewall for it???? cause i bought all the parts and they are for a stagea conversion? maybe the brake booster is a touch smaller ??? i have ripped out the stock foot handbrake and it shouldnt be a problem to move to the console area as the cable runs directly under there anyways just gotta source a r33 handbrake for mine i have removed the stock engine loom and ecu which is a bloody pain in the arse, as the loom goes under and behind the heater unit and i cant find out how to remove the top of the dash to get it out but luckily i squeezed the loom and plug out anyone had the top part of the dash off before as i cant for the life of me find the screw holding it in the middle area i think as i have removed about 40 screws and nuts already under there and im not jokin about the amount :pissed: i have since sent the sump to get enlarged and baffled which will take at least 3 weeks so i cant install the 26 until then at the earliest, then its time to sort out the front pipes (dump pipes are already 3") and then bolt on the usual stuff like power steering pump, air con pump, radiator, mount gtr intercooler, connect catch can, bolt in pedal box, clutch master, install gtr 5 speed, gtr slave cylinder, use original stagea tailshaft (not 100% sure yet but ill find out ), sort out handbrake, and then send to shop for ally cooler piping and wiring to be sorted, and im still running the autronics smc ecu oh and gotta source some r33 brembos most likely hoping to be finished and ready to tune justttt b4 xmas but prolly wont get tune until after new year :goddam: thats all for now Brad

  18. sorry for the weird post but i been taking my dash off and i noticed that running infront of the heater unit, etc but out of sight when dash is on, there is like 2" ally or s/s tubing (looks like part of a rollcage) it joins on each A pillars and i always wondered why it handled soo well for a wagon so is this stock or what? ill try and get a pic, but its easy to see if u look under the dash hope someone can help thanks Brad

  21. hey guys cheers for the comments yes the rb26 is goin in this one i gotta put the stagea engine in the vl first and then ill put the 26 in the stagea so within 2 months it should be finished i hope!!!! ive got the gearbox, manual conversion, 26 engine etc ready for the transplant, just need some time, and it will be goin told ya those cannington wholesale shots where pretty terrible quality i got some apexi n1 coil overs for it goin on as soon as i get 5 min, and it will be lower than it is already cya guys Brad

  23. hey SK thanks for the info mate so a stock r33 manual ecu will plug str8 into the loom? or do i need the r33 loom as well? will the r33 loom plug str8 onto the engine or will i need to run all the r33 engine sensors as well??? the gearbox ecu is integrated into the engine ecu is that right???? thanks again Brad :how:
  24. hehe sorry for the topic guys but i really need to know what has to be hooked up from the stagea stock ecu to run in a vl commodore???? i been told its difficult, but i cant see y? im running a manual box so is the auto ecu integrated into the engine harness or seperate??? im running stock ecu, stock cooler, stock everything except the gts-t 5 speed. any wiring info welcome wiring diagrams would be even better cheers Brad
