  5. so that pictured unit only picks up SD tv and not HD channels?
  6. thanks for the support and help guys i just reformatted the USB to FAT32 and works, confirmed it plays MPEG4, AVI, MKV but not MPEG or FLV Andy, i'll probably give you a call sometime, i sms'd you yesterday about the antennas and checking the unit
  7. just had ago at trying to tune in line of sight with the tv tower but doesnt seem to pick anything up still.. but SBS/TVS pick up strong i may just keep the unit for USB but nothing seems to come up when i put my USB in. am i cursed? does it take any format fat32? NTFS? they're just regular 8GB kingston sticks
  8. but that brings me back to square one.. given the antennas are UHF, i cant seem to pick up anything except TVS/SBS?
  9. im using the new Asukas bought from Andy in Sydney (has HD function), some digital TV guys identified the antennas that came with it as DTV antennas that are suitable only for UHF (SBS, TVS) rather than VHF (channel 7, 9, 11 etc)
  10. had a talk with someone here and the antennas are too short to pick up VHF in sydney. up north its not so much of an issue as there are UHF converters but anywhere else, we need telescopic antennas in sydney
  11. just had a go at driving somewhere else on an elevated hill sort of area.. still didnt pick up anything except sbs/tvs, but ive taken the antennas out and wiring is away from the main loom and isolated on its own so i'll try tonight or tomorrow and let you guys know what the results are
  12. thanks for the reply guys.. saw it a few days ago but didnt get a chance to test it yet.. i live in liverpool which is south west and reception isnt an issue for houses here. http://myswitch.digitalready.gov.au/ shows that i have green (good coverage) my questions are that, given my wiring approach is correct: 1) does the wiring for the antennas need to be run isolated from everything else? i ran mine along the top of the roof lining and down the side A pillars then along with massive loom that runs to the rear of the car. I don't know if this will interfere with reception or hinder it if the antenna wires are sensitive? 2) the windscreens have a black lining (i believe on all cars) along the edges, do you need to avoid these? unsure if they heat up with demister lines and pose a risk to the wires. 3) the excess wiring was then just coiled and cable tied for tidiness under the mat? bad idea? car is a late model toyota sedan. i just feel so frustrated since installing it as everyone seems to be getting reception apart from me and I live in Sydney apologies for these sorts of questions i am new to auto electronics altogether. antenna image for reference: (taken from eBay but look exactly like them)
  13. what do you mean by good power? just not sure what constitutes good power.. ive joined them together; both antennas into 1 pair of leads (1 pos, 1 ground) and ran them into my headunit loom.. not sure if thats the right way to do it..
  14. Does anyone have any reception issues? Seems like I can only pick up TVS, a few SBS HD channels and thats it. this is using the supplied antennas.. (power is from headunit loom) I'm out in western Sydney and out of ideas.
  15. had alot of queries on this but no one's taken it yet.
  16. as stated in topic new love call, its a disco light that lights up in sequence around the heart then the arrow and finally the love letters and heart. heres a pic of what it looks like lit up however the item being sold has red heart and orange centre heart. yes the centre heart and words "LOVE" do light up also! (sequentially after the outer heart) rare 80s item, very sought after in japan. why bother with those silly wakaba (learner) badges stickers which are played out? item is brand new and unused. very simple to use and plugs into cigarette lighter but comes with instructions and lets you wire up to your brake light for cooler effect. item is approximately 15cm tall. $60
  17. Thank you for a great unit and service!
