Whats With The Hate In This Forum
msports180 replied to R33Gangstar's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Agree SAU is by the far best im a member of, you ask a stupid question you will get mild flamage, but hey learn to use search first eh? So many people so willing to answer questions and with very good info. There is definatley other out there that are far worse, namley the one previoulsy mentioned in this thread. I guess its like anything else in life, act like a dick, get treated like a dick. -
How To Remove Front Passenger Wheel Drive Shaft?
msports180 replied to kidafa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
We just undid the lower control arm where it bolts to the cross member, one long bolt. Undo the strut from the hub, one nut and slide the strut off, leave it bolted up top, should have enough movement, and yeah split the tie rod end. The castle nut is on the tie rod end, its where the split pin goes through to lock it. -
How To Remove Front Passenger Wheel Drive Shaft?
msports180 replied to kidafa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
When i have done it, we undid the lower control arm, and the steering tie rod end, removed the strut from the hub and the big nut on the middle of the hub and that gave us enough room to get the hub over the splice. The undo the six bolts on the flange and out she came. The upper control arm is the U shaped one yes. To remove the tie rod and remove the split pin, losen the castle nut and undo it till the end of the thread is covered by the nut, then give it a smack with a hammer this should free it from the taper and not damage the thread. If you have a tie rod splitter better again but most people dont. -

Fake Autech I Believe.... Have A Look.
msports180 replied to chef_stagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yeah thats it. Why is it no good out of WA? Are you not allowed to do a transplant like this in other state's? Over here it went straight over as its considered a factory option, like putting a V8 into a V6 car. Interested to know in case anyone ask's. -

Question About Spring Rates
msports180 replied to msports180's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the replys guys, pretty much the train of thought i was having just wanted to confirm i was on the right path. I did think about getting new springs and a re-valve but after the cost i may aswell go another option, its not a unlimited budget project unfortunately. I will swap them for another set they had there. -

Front fitment is WAY better -
OK i have been reading everything i can about coilovers etc to get a idea on what to run in my R34 Gt-t sedan. My plans for the car are some street driving, some club level motorsport like sprints, hill climb, drifting and maybe some tarmac stuff like dutton etc, basically an all round car aimed at motorsport over daily driven. I picked up some Tein RA's, i like the idea of the teins for the well known name, the ease of rebuild, the wealth of knowledge, the quality etc. From what i can gather the RA's are middle ground. Now i dont have a huge budget, i picked these up for a good price, had covered SFA kays so i went with them, i was recomended them by the seller after telling him what i was planning on doing with the car. My question is, the spring rate. I have since researched the numbers on the coilovers and have found that they are 12kg front and rear, yes this is very stiff, but with my plans are these going to be OK? Will i have enough adjustabilty in the dampner adjustment to "soften" them for the street and street tyres then stiffen them for semi slicks and racing? I havnt as yet tried them as i thaught i would ask before i went to trouble of fitting them and getting a wheel alignment. I can take these back no probs so im not asking the type of question have i wasted my money, i would just like any bodys opinion on who has used these or had experience with something similar. The guy i got them from has been excellent so im not doubting him either, as i said he is happy to swap them for something else if i want to. Thanks.

Hey guys starting another project, selling my stagea to get the missus a new Liberty wagon and also getting myself a 4wd, so am inheriting her 34 4 door in the deal. At the moment its still pretty stock as until the stagea sells its her daily to take the kids etc, has been an excellent car though, so reliable, in the 4 years she has had it, have done the coilpacks and thats it. Obviously done all the servicing etc to it, car dosnt have any sqeaks or anything, i have been very suprised with its reliabilty. OK as it sits now: 1998 Model Turbo Auto Nismo coilovers (need replacing shocks worn) Blitz rims (for sale) Splitfire coil packs K&N panel filter Catback exhaust I have been collecting parts for it for a while now, have sitting ready to go: Manual conversion with excedy clutch JIC rims 18x9.5 +15 Tein RA's (12kg spring, not sure if im gonna run these or not yet? opinion's?) Cusco front upper camber arms Rear camber arms Front adjustable castor rods HICAS cancellor bar Walboro pump Brembo's from my Stagea Project Mu pads and shoes ISC 52mm rad Diff shim to tighten the LSD till i can get a 2way Nistune rom Origin Style boot lip spoler Also have on there way: JJR return flow FMIC JJR dump Hyper gear highflow Custom oil cooler Next parts on the wish list: CF vented bonnet CF boot lid 2 way Some nice seats and harness bar Gauges Plans are to use it for club level sprints etc, some drifting and also maybe some tarmac stuff. Power wise goal is 350rwhp with max response, the reason for the highflow etc is to retain as much factory stuff as possible for reliabilty and legallity. I will try and update this as we progress through fitting everything when the stagea finally sells. Now for the pic's.
