  1. Yeah sorry hicas lock bar. I did a 34 once without splitting the tie rods where the rack connects to the hubs. Only one side came out the other didnt have enough movement. So i didnt bother with this one. Might try it when i get it in the air next. Good job im ordering a rad, mine just split the bottom tank today!! HAPPY!!
  2. I went the Kuhmo Ecsta KU31's, kind of a middle of the road tyre as i had planned to get 18's latter so didnt see the put in putting pricey tyres on the stock rims. For the price $180 each (235/45/17) they grip really well, i have pushed the car hard a few times and they feel very good, intial bite isnt that flash but once your in there nice.
  3. $33500 without all the spares. May swap for a ML triton 4x4 dual cab, Navara D40 Dual cab 4x4 or Jeep Rubicon Unlimited.
  4. Agreed tax cuts would of been a beter option, i guess that would of taken to long to filter through where as the lump sum is almost instant. I should really be getting stuff for the house were building now, but meh i need the car fixed to.
  5. Nice work guys keep em coming. For once spending money on the car is the right thing to do.
  6. So the goverment stimulus packages have started rolling out, for those of us who get it who's doing what to your car with it? Or are you using it for other stuff in life (there's something else then car's?!! ) Ive decided to use it fix everything that is wrong with my stagea. Amongst all the fixes there is one mod i snuck in The list is as follows: New ISC 52mm rad New thermostat Coolant flush and chnage New tie rod ends New rack ends New rack bushes New sway bar bushes front and rear Adjustable castor rods All up comes to just over $1000 so i have a bit to come up with but not the full amount. I also have sitting here for it which i havnt fitted: New fuel pump New engine fan (mines cracked) HICAS breaker bar (this will be the 3rd time ive tried to fit it as i cant find a tie rod splitter to fit ) So this will pretty much everything that is wrong with the car atm. So then i can put the price up jokes. So what are other people doing? Confess!!
  7. Yes i just re-read it all today now ive finished night shift and seems that the whole document is something that depends on how you want to interpret it? it may or may not be legal just depends on the guys mood and whether he thinks you are a hoon or not probly.
  8. For seat covers there's an Australian company called Ryan seat covers, they used to make custom fitted seat covers. They may have a listing? I have seen these on a R33 and fitted very well. As for floor matts there may be an Australian company making them, try some of the larger auto parts type store's, you never know.
  9. So cheap. You can import cars from queensland cant you? Wouldnt cost "that" much to put back to stock to comply?
  10. Ive done a few SR conversions into various things now. Awesome motor. Im not sure whether it will fit or not? But try maybe putting the S13 crossmember into the R31, that way engine mounts etc are done. With my R34 we put the S13 crossmember in, had to fiddle a bit with the power steering lines a bit but it went straight in. Gear stick come through the hole perfect, needed to make some extensions for the gbox crossmember that was it. Also will need a custom tail shaft. The original pwr steer pump bolted up to the SR as did the alternator. So the mechanical side isnt that hard. The wiring is another matter, probly be able to adapt the R31 engine harness for alt, starter, oil pressure etc onto the SR with no problems. But the ECU wiring is always the hardest, PLMS developments do a full pre-wire harness that then leaves you with 4 wires to hook up.
  11. This is exactly what i did and they found somethings. I wasnt yellowed. They put all the things on the form that needed fixing and said come back when i have got it done. Never gave me a time frame.
  12. Thanks that pretty much answers it. Has to come off
  13. I recently took my stagea over the pits to get it mod permitted. Amongst some other things they picked on my window tint, its the darkest legal tint on the front 2 windows which wasn't a problem. But all the back windows have dark as tint which is considered "illegal". Now what i thaught were the rule is that the back windows you can have as dark as you want? Its only the two front windows that must be legal? They said no it has to be of legal darkness all round, they said if its in the glass its OK but not of its tint? How is that fair? Does anyone know whats the go on this? My old 180 passed complience with darker tint on the back then this has.
  14. I took my car over the pits recently for mod permits and got knocked back because of mine. They said if its factory fitted then it needs to be there and needs to work. As no one can say a HICAS breaker bar is up to ADR standards it cant pass. I personnaly think its a load of shit and i was unlucky. They said if i can get a leter from a suspension specialist saying the HICAS breaker bar is safe and that HICAS is not needed then i can have it. Im gonna paint it black, throw some mud on it and try somewhere else.
  15. Oh the joys i had the same damn problem. Why did you block the BOVS off? the factory ones are some of the best out there? I did it in 2 ways, a can of carby or throttle body cleaner, spray it around hoses, gaskets etc while the engine is idling, the engine revs will rise or drop if you hit the spot. The other way was to remove the afms and pressurize the system, as in get a air compressor set the regualtor real low and blow compressed air into the intake system, you should hear the leak.
  16. I have seen a turbo beanie catch fire before, from the oil getting trapped inside the materal, very rare to happen though. I like the metal type heat shields for highmounts, stops alot of radiant heat but still allows good airflow. I have also heard of having to remove them prior to engine shut down, but cant back this up, i have seen them used alot in competition and those guys never took em off?
  17. There not to bad for minor mods. Its just getting someone to tune it. Depending on where you are, i think you have to be a HKS pro dealer to be able to tune them i think? I can only think of BD4's and Xspeed?
  18. Found this on the net today. GTR style front bar on the standard front end. Dosnt look to bad.
  19. Mines safe from my old man he's nearly 70 but has a dodgy ankle and cant push the clutch in!! hehe and he really wants to drive it to. Allthough he admitted he couldnt bring himself to rev it past 5k he said in his day that was our 9000rpm!
  20. I like the east bear kit. The URAS one dosnt suit the shape at all. Looks like a squared of veilside kit. The old URAS kit is alot nicer.
  21. IMO the uras guards look crappy. They dont really follow the lines of the body. Ive seen GTR guards fitted to a sedan and they to look out of proportion. I have used a 17x10 +38 and fitted a 255/40 tyre with heaps of room left, offsets a bit weak tho, this is with standard guards and high ride height. With rolled guards have used a 17x9.5 +15 with 235/45 and slammed with camber, you wont get wider there, awesome offset though. I would go for a 10' rim or 9.5 in a +30 - +25 offset and i think you could fit a 275 just.
