  1. I'm hoping Alan can elaborate, but if you can check the "works" GT-Rs around 1970-1971 I think you'll find some were fitted with injection. I have pics "somewhere safe"?! ...can't find 'em Jim.
  2. I gotta agree. Get it opened up and looked at before making any wallet lightening decisions, you may only need a fix rather than a rebuild....a lot less money!
  3. Cars-1965 Prince Skyline GT;1972 KGC10 GT-X(Rcopy);1975 240K (hey its still a Skyline ) 47 Allstraylyen Technical Specialist
  4. Very nice gesture Funky. To get an idea, the first badge ..with the GT-R side by side, if sold would be about $90 Aussie. In your estimate what would it cost to get that to my door via monkey means? I'll add a pic of a coupla badges I do need if you ever stumble across them at the right price. Front guard "GT" badges in red for a real KPGC10. My car had them when sold at auction in Japan but all the badges had disappeared by the time it got to Australia. Unfortunately the wrong ones (from a later series ) have been stuck on since. The rear quarter badges, above them in the pic....I dunno. I'm still thinking about them. The car was rebuilt without them (no holes) and the car looks ok without them but........any opinions out there please?? Should I bother, I know it will never be a real '72 GT-R no matter how many original looking bits it gets, but I'm leaning towards making it LOOK as close as possible....Thanks Funky , thanks guys. Jim.
  5. No, it's alright here. It interests me and 99% of sale posts are for hair dryers etc Way too expensive for one badge though! for me anyway :boohoo: Perhaps a pointer in this forum to the for sale section would have been the go. Stop livin' ya tag Neil, I'm older and GRUMPIER! :flamed: Jim. :hippy:
  6. Open 24hrs....and no covercharge anytime I've played GT3...never seen it myself but quite a number of people have told me the KPGC10 makes an appearance in GT3 as a silver car with black watanabes (Hmmmm...now who has one of those? ). The previous owner was suprised by younger kids recognising the car when on display at Autosalon? in Melbourne, and talking about the car from GT3. Come to think of it I have seen a blue and white race version (like famous No.15) in Gran Turismo...that long ago it may have been GT2. Anyone help out here? But yeah! I'm with you, can't wait to have a bash at the 4th version. I'm actually working on a dedicated rally seat, PS2, analogue wheel and monitor to enhance the experience. On that point (HIJACK ALERT!) any recommendations for wheel and pedal sets for use with the PS2? Cheers, Jim.
  7. Hey guys, this prompted a memory of an old magazine I have, Feb/March 1997 ZOOM extreme performance magazine Volume 1 No.6. Article by Julian Edgar. This issue has PART 3 of Project Skyline, An RB20DET into a C210 (~1979) Skyline Coupe. 7~8 pages on wiring up the engine!!. Any other magazine horders out there , check your stash for other issues with this project. Probably started late in 1996. I can drop it off at Kents if needed Jim.
  8. First (PRINCE) SKYLINES in Australia, mid 1964, were (S50) 4 cylinder 1500cc four doors. ~Sept 1965 the first four door two litre six cylinder (S54Be2, later was the Be3, "e" meant export model) triple webered PRINCE SKYLINE 2000 GT-B's came off the boat from Japan. At this time Australia was the only country the SKYLINE was officially exported to. Skylines continued to be imported from 1965 to 1968('67 models). 1966 saw the absorbing of Prince Motor Company by Nissan Motors, and Skylines although still built by the same people, were now Nissan Prince Skyline GT's ("A" model single carby, or "B" model with three DCOE 18 40mm Webers) There were a quite a few more differences! Badging varied from 2000 GT to NISSAN PRINCE A200 GT. With 3 webers; 2 litre 6 cylinder (G7) 127bhp @ 5600 rpm 123ft/lbs torque @ 4400 rpm With single Nikki downdraught; 106 bhp and ?? for the rest! No 1968 model Skylines for Australia. Nothing 'till ~May 1973 when we got the C110, AKA the Datsun 240K. Second white car is a Prince Motor Company built S54b2 RED car is a NISSAN built S54Be3. Engine is the G7 "B" version. Jim.
  9. Hey Chaps, Can anyone tell me the difference in stroke between the stock L28 and the stroke when the diesel crank is fitted please?. I have what is alleged to be a Kakimoto 3.1 litre, and I figure if the difference in stroke is substancial, (measurable!) I should be able to tell using the "through the plug 'ole" method. As the motor is quite fresh and purring, I don't want to disturb too much! Cheers, Jim.
  10. Hi Ben, My first thought was "he's gonna need bigger brakes, MUCH better suspension!" ......and I guess if he has the money to follow through well good luck to him, and to get it back to original would be an expensive all consuming job. The car IS rare, but only a 4 cylinder version and I don't think there are people lineing up to buy them, just a few diehard enthusiasts who (just like me!) will try and pick it up for next to nothing. I have a 6 cylinder version (S54Be-II).These started out as the basic 4 cylinder 1500 with an extra 8-9 inches added by Prince Motor Company to the engine bay and front panels to accomodate the 2 litre 6 from the Prince Glolria of the time. Obviously MANY other parts were modified/changed to end up with the Prince Skyline GT. The whole story wont fit here but if you do a bit of googling you'll get a good idea. Mine was heavily modified 15 odd years ago with a worked L28 nissan 6 and a rally 5 speed. In its current form it is dangerous and virtually undrivable!! ..because the 1965 brakes , suspension steering and chassis dynamics, designed to handle around 125HP of the triple webered G7 six simply cannot cope with a 270+ HP motor. Now I'm not up on the output of rotaries but I'd imagine he'd be looking at something with quite a bit more....can't say grunt about a rotary....lets call it ZING or ZAP :headspin: It is a VERY nice looking little PRINCE, if he engineers it right I think a mild rotary in that would make a great little cruiser! My 2 bobs worth Jim.
  11. is this the right spoiler? for back of your project 240k ?
  12. On yahoo Japan... KPGC110 rear garnish If you are keen for this Kent,Some kind fellows of this good forum may be able to help ?
  13. "one fat wallet in right hand arse pocket." This line says it all! believe it or not....this is a common cause of "mystery" lower back pain. On a visit to a Chiropractor for some back crackin' I was asked did I drive with a wallet in pants pocket. Thought he was kiddin' around...nope! Your back/spine will hate you(ask Zebbie!) if you sit for any length of time with one bumcheek marginally higher than the other! no joke. :zap: P.S. Yeah...NSW roads don't help
  14. If it's at all possible Jason, try and get a pic of the car....sounds intrigueing. Possibly someone has stuck a badge on the back of a Skyline from the "Datsun Six" just one of the many name formats of the larger Datsun 6 to be sold in Australia during the late 60's early seventies . Slightly larger/wider than a Prince Skyline, think of a Datsun version of a Toyota Crown. "maybe it is the poverty pack model" From what I remember the Prince range of vehicles to come to Australia didn't vary much in variants(?) They had the 1500cc 4cylinder Skyline, the 2litre Skyline GTB, the 2litre Gloria, (some badged as B200) and the Miler ute, all different bodies. That being said some interesting exceptions to the rule pop up every now and then...private imports, embassy and consular cars, just enough to make you wonder!? things like a Gloria Grande. Something that does happen over the years is badges and scripting from cars destined for different markets to Australia, find their way into the country on panels sourced as spares, private imports etc and get used to replace lost or damaged originals thus causing confusion to the casual observer. Then there is the naming and badging on the Skylines from 1964 to 1967....Geez don't get me started ....but thats a story for another thread! I think we've well and truely hijacked this one Jim.
  15. Sorry V8 but that pic is of a gen u whine 1964-5 Prince Motor Company Skyline GT S54-Be2, hopefully still powered by the Prince G7 triple webered 2 litre. Love the attitude of the car through the corner!! Jim.
  16. No doubt the Weber(3 x 40 dcoe 18) connection has been confirmed by now.Same carbies as the Lotus Cortinas of the era. I think it may have been Toyota that used Solex in the twin throat side draught format on their twin cam 4's and sixes of the late 60's to mid 70's. Can't really say about the Nissan S20 of the same era, I have pics showing Webers, Solexs and Mikunis and possibly Del'ortos. With a bit more research I could probably find what was original on the S20 twincam , but by then I'm sure another "early Skyline facts guru" will have chimed in . The GR8 did run webers early in the piece, and this was set up by Prince Motor Company engineers....(that should be enough research fodder for ya!!) On the subject of an Australian Prince Skyline GT Website, a couple of the page building capable guys belonging to the register are working on building a site or two....keep your eyes and ears open... Cheers, Jim.
