I agree too! I was so cut, last night there were a heap of nice skylines out, and i was really looking fwd to goin 2 the nats today, but today being the only day i could go, and only seeing 3 skylines too, pissed me off so much!!!! Ah well, i guess i was just hoping to see a few R34s and a few more gtr's this year then i did last year, but it looks like last years summernats was much better for the import scene then it is this year!

Yeah thanks guys, andrew for sure, pm me and say what you have, i will tell you what i currently have too, i just dont think its near enough from having this happen already and i have only had my skyline for 2-3months!!! i couldnt believe it! but in saying that they do get alot of attention i have had so many people talk to me about it then i have ever really heard of about other cars! Anyone able to hook me up with an SAU sticker?? Dayne
-
lol.. i was thinking the same thing too:P ACT SAU dent removing day!!!! hahahahaha
-
haha, only problem is my car isnt rego'd so we'd all have to go to my house.. if that would be alright with you guys!!! i'm going to ring him tomorrow, my dent is kinda like a star if you get me, so im not sure if he will be able to remove it, though its very small!!! i have a massive carpark so room wouldnt be an issue.. im going to try book for early next week, so when it alk to him i will let you guys know if 3 of us will get the price down!
-
Alright, well im up for it for sure man, i got in heaps of shit off the old fella for it! the dent was caused by me not taking care of shutting the bonnet and i had the fuse box lid thing on the engine... and it popped it out rather then in, so i would imagine that it wont be 'to' hard to fix! if anyone has there number, post it up, or if anyones able to get it, i looked in yellow pages and to tell u the truth i didnt know what to look for!! I am southsider man, i'd be looking at getting it done asap... prob this week, would that be alright for u?

Hey guys, just put a small dent in my brand new resprayed bonnet  .. not impressed with myself to say the least! is there any paintless mobile dent removers in canberra that can do some top work and dont charge more then the bonnet would be to get resprayed ($500) i've heard of a few in syd, so they must be around in canberra too, if anyone knows of some can you give their number to me?? thanks guys!!!

Yeah, thats what i thought to, but obviously i was wrong there.. still not sure what they were doing 100% but i cant really worry that much anymore, if they come next time im sure they wont be leaving again! Not until they explain themselves... anyone able to tell me what a good alarm is, say one with some mad sensors, and maybe a pager telling you whats going on when your car gets broke into?? I've seen those ones that beep as you get closer, what about them??
-
Hey man, Cheer up you can look at it on the bright side of things atleast your cars got a healthy engine in it, and the damage wont be that hard to fix providing you have had a bit of mechanical experience and stuff before!! My brothers car had damage kinda similar to yours, sept the difference was his was at the start of his chasis rail. Now how they fixed this was to drill all the spot welds off the rail, and make it a little more 'workable'. You should be able to jack the car up and basically un do all the welds, and put a large clap on the rail once done. When you've got to this step, you should be able to change the angle and mounting possitions on the clamp and heat up the rail with a oxy. Once this is done, and while still very hot (should be close to red if not red) tighten the clamps to force the metal back down and the middle should pop down fairly well! remember when doing this go that little bit extra because the metal will always come back! Weld the spot welds back up and your set. Once this is done do what ylwgtr2 said, and beat it up a little with the hammer getting a little more shape into it. When you've done this grind it back a little and put some fill in there then spray it with under body spray (hides alot) and just give it a quick hit with some black paint again! Shouldnt be too hard really, just takes alot of time!! If you dont feel comfortable with it, just take it to a panel beater, they shouldnt charge too much and should do a reasonable job, and like everyone else said, everythings fixable so dont worry what others say!!! Take an easy, hope your happy with your gtr other then this!! Dayne

Yeah sinista i really dont know what to do with it either.. blocked the carpark off at night now with other cars now so they cant drive in & out n even if they could the skyline wouldnt be able to get up the gutter/hill anyways!!! Hopefully they wernt there to hurt my baby, worries the shit outa me right now tho as i've only had it a lil while!!!i thought canberra, and generrally the area i lived in was good.. hmm i've been proved wrong it looks like

spotted two dudes in a vn commodore come into my carpark where my car was parked at 1.30 am... parking behind my shed... looking very suspeciously (sp) at my skyline! then flooring it outa the carpark when dad confronted them asking what they were doing..
-
Sounds like a plan, anyways, my skyline does me just fine as it is right now anyways... only my first car so i cant really complain... i dont wana have it for ages anyway, at the end of the day, i wana upgrade to an R34 either late 05 or early 06 when i have some driving under my belt, but even still... i want it to be a non turbo for the time being!
-
Thats what i was thinking too, for 10kw, there is no point spending 1000$ plus on it! Forget it, i'll upgrade the car completly when im old enough to and wise enough to drive a turbo car..
-
Mate, i'll tell you what, same deal happened to me. this is how you determine which is what. If its the thrust, with your clutch only half engaged it'll go away.. if its the gearbox do this, turn all ur music etc etc off... then drive the car, place it in first take off and go to about 40kmph and roll.. push your clutch in, and if the noise is still there its the box, if its gone... its the clutch. to easy! if you can DIY it only costs a few bux (maybe 100-200$) to rebuild the box and replace all the bearings etc, takes a weekend to do it, all the right tools.. and a mate to help you aswell!!! Hope all goes well! Dayne

Do they require tunes and stuff done to them?? is there anyway i can buy one off someone thats just plug in and go?? how much of a gain can i see??
-
What about a unichip? i've heard they do good things for a turbo, what should i look for with a unichip or some sort of piggy back to get some gains..? Can anyone speak from experience, or recommend any sorts of ecu systems that'll help??
-
I have one 15 in mine, and i have no space.. You could mount them both (if you fibreglassed the boxes) on both the right and left side of the boot, and false floor it for the amp, and you'll still have a largish.. amount of room left for other stuff.. rememeber the subs need a decent volume to sound good.. you have to take that into consideration too, you can squash them and get poor sound, or give them a bit more room n sacrafise some space, and have some decent sounding subs which is why i assume you baught the R's in the first place. Hope this helps.

This is so late too, but i really need a front pair aswell... Let me know -
Hey guys, my cars a non turbo, and when i looked at the exhaust it was 3" cat back with a lukey muffler and a really nice japanese cannon 4" tip, and i havent noticed loss of power compared to other NA skylines, and it makes a very nice sound when idoling and more when i rev it a bit, but other then that its quiet, it has never once backfired and sounds extreamly good compared to most other NA's and Na skylines for that fact... Just letting u know this as if you find a 3" exhaust and dont buy it because you hear this and that, im telling u now with my 3" it is absolutly fantastic!!! Dayne
