Thanks for clearing that up, i was starting to worry!! I check it 1-2times a month.

I usually back out of the garage, and close it (around 30secs) and then take off slowly until i get out of my suburb (3-4mins) When i start my car however, the oil light stays on for about 2seconds then goes off.. is this normal?? The oil atm is sitting halfway inbetween L and H (on the dipstick)

Hey guys, Just need to remove the A pillar to mount some gauges on an R33. I have never done this before, and dont want to break it. So if anyone can tell me what steps to take and if its just clips of if its screws & other panels need removing as well? Also, would like to know which end to start at, the top, or the bottom (closest to the dash) Thanks guys. Dayne

Why cant i just connect it to the coil? like my dad said to do..?? will anything bad happen??

Well thats what my tacho says, "Connect to coil ra ra ra" so i think i might need a tacho booster? is that correct? where can i get these from?? or what type of fiddling do you mean? Also... how do i find wire 7 on the ecu? you guys said it was a green one, but the only green one i can seem to find is way up the list.

Hey guys, i've done a bit of a search but couldnt find much. Anyway, just brought a tacho, and now im stumped as to how to wire it up. My original tacho only worked sometimes, very rarly. I've gone behind the cluster, and touched on the wires to the tacho to see if i could get signal, however couldnt find any on anywire. So basically i want to know how to wire this tacho up? Can i grab it straight off the ecu? (im an Rb20E) How has everyone else done it? is there any specific colours that the tacho wire usually is behind the cluster. Im lead to believe that a GTST cluster could go in, so it should be the same in theory...? kinda. Thanks. Dayne

Do a search, there was a thread on how to re-wire the lights to make them both come on! i was reading it not to long ago. Its possible to do it.. im sure of it. Dayne

HMm, yeah but its so easy for the swap... bolt out, bolt in:) nah mate the rb20's are still going in 33's, aint that bad, still beats a the average lancer n shit, good first car. I want the rb20 because one, i can afford it, two, i dont want to much power, three, i dont need 2 upgrade brakes or engineneer it. Where as alot of work is required for the 25. Being only 17 i dont wana kill myself either. I've seen how hard the 25's can go, and its really just too much for what i can handle at this point. If you can kinda see where im coming from. It wont be that bad anyway. Dayne

How would you know if the kms are genuine? I've seen rb20det's priced in at $3700 which is a complete joke is what im getting at. Dont want an rb25, as the engine in it atm is rb20, so i just want a simple swap:) Dayne

Not a problem:P I actually want your car, but.. i'd have to sell mine first and its just a pain in the ass. Loved the flutter on friday when you were reversing, mate was giving it to me saying that my car should do it, it will soon enough providing i can find an engine that isnt rediculously overpriced.

how much are you after, minus the sump, ecu, starter motor, and turbo?

Nah, i dont think the fact that it doesnt have a turbo means it drains power:) Its all good pete, you know i love vtec and mivec! hmm was considering selling an getting a vti-r just like my bros. just alot of work and hassle. Dayne

it stays at 14.2 when the car is on. With what you said race_snooze, the car will remain to start for a few hours after. Its after this period of time that the power is gone. so something is draining it, so now i can rule out regulartor, starter motor, battery, alternator. I'll find out soon wether or not its the alarm doing this, and if i cant find the problem tonight, its off to an auto elect. Cheers for all the input. keep it comming:D Dayne

I know for a fact that the battery is fine. But thanks for that anyway. I just disconnected my headunit properly (terminated the wires) as well as neons in car, and underbody. I also removed the earth off the alarm. So i'll go down and see in 5 or so hours if the car still starts, then i can eliminate it from there. Just a question, who can remove brant alarms? should anyone be able to do it? Dayne

yeah im getting really pissed off with the peice of shit. how do i check if its the regulator andrew? maybe i should throw in the 'cheaper' battery n stuff that then my other new one. im guna rip everything out, no lights are being left on in the car bar the brant flashy one
