  1. it's actually called "supply and demand" .. and let's face it.. there are less of them around now (quite noticebly over the past 2 years).. it doesn't mean though that you can't find an unsuspecting owner who doesn't realise the value of their car! but don't expect to find that person in 2 days of looking
  2. Sorry, that one was boughtand sent to a guy in the US a few years back (after replacing bits and pieces on it (brakes etc.).. that car is just coming up for sale in the US for about $6k incidently (if any of the US guys are interested pm me and i will give you his details!) and yep, one of my cars i am putting an RB26 in , and the other will be restored and put away for a while (most likely the GT, but i am having second thoughts and may keep that one instead, when people are throwing around figures of $5k+ it is tempting!).
  3. things have certainly changed in the past 3 years.. They use to come up on ebay quite regularly for around $1500-$2000, same with NOS parts.. they use to come up regularly.. and relitively cheaply My 2nd 240K coupe i bought for $750 off ebay It was in really good condition (had Been sitting in a field for 9 years, but other than a bit of dirt and a nest of mice it was really good!) Things certainly seemed to have dried up quite a bit, especially with NOS parts.. atleast parts prices arn't as rediculous as they are in japan Luckily i have 3 coupes (1 is unfortuntately destined for scrap as the previous owner lost the compliance tag) including a 240K GT (only a handfull of those left now! i was real lucky to find that one) which i will get around to restoring in a few years time once i finish my beast. Kent
  4. That is pretty lame on the guys part.. he has limited his choices somewhat if all new cars need to have them by 2012 I wonder if it is a US only addition to the ECU?
  5. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/index.cg...afetycheck.form find one on that link.. they can then do the paperwork online, saving you time.
  6. you can either buy a set of white/blue tinted bulbs in the right size, retrofit a set of Series 3 GT-R headlights, buy and fit an aftermarket HID kit or maybe, you could modify your existing housing to take an OEM HID kit from another car. blue tinted bulbs will display a little less light though (depending on the colour of the bulb that you choose.. the more blue/purple.. the more you loose), S3 GTR headlights will probably be hard to find and $$$, aftermarket HID kits and retrofitting another manufacturers HID wouldn't necessarily be road legal of course there are other advantages of HID over old lights.. like the sharp cut off.. brighter colour etc. oh and technically i think the R33 Xenons arn't road legal here as they do not have auto headlight levelling (hence why they are usually "replaced/modified" during compliance, same with R34's)
  7. Item: Set of 6 Used R33 N1 Rods Age: 20,000km's Condition: excellent Price: $225 To Fit: RB26 / RB25?? (What car) Location: Sydney Contact: PM me Comments: I purchased these a little while ago expecting to have to rebuild an RB26, luckily i didn't have to so i am selling these now. Hard to find in great condition, so they should go really quickly. If you want to verify the condition.. pm me and i will put you in touch with the person i bought them from (from SAU). I believe these can also be used in RB25's.. but do your research first Item: R32 RB26DETT Wiring Harness Age: unknown Condition: Excellent Price: $300 To Fit:RB26DETT Location: Sydney Contact: PM Me Comments: This is an excellent condition R32 RB26DETT loom that i purchased as a replacement for the damaged loom on my engine. I have decided to repair my own loom though, so i no longer need this. All items can be posted at buyers expense. Thanks Guys Kent
  8. For reference.. i think it is numbered reletive to my picture 3 as: Left Top in the picture is pin 101 Left bottom in the picture is pin 109 Right top int he picture is pin 50 Right bottom in my picture is pin 60 in effect, teh harness needs to be flipped over and seen from behind atleast i think it is read that way
  9. Hi guys, I am attempting to rebuild the ECU connector on my RB26DETT. As you can see from the photo's, it has been quite severly damaged, luckily the plastic took most of the damage, and most of the wires are intact. I got a connector off an RB25 loom, and have connected 3/4 of it all. The section i have left, i have no idea of what colours go where.. Can anybody have a look at theirs and send me a list of the wire colours vs Pin numbers? my engine is an R33 RB26dett.. the R32 wiring colours are different.. so please only list ones from an R33 RB26. Needed Pinouts 1-20 (which is on the inside of the larger pins), i have attached a pin numbering diagram too The colours i have to find are (short cables): * Blue / Brown * Blue / Red * Yellow / Blue * Green / Red * Black / Yellow * Grey / Black * Brown / Red (Longer cables) * Light Blue * Purple / White * Black / Pink * Orange * Blue / Yellow * Blue / Black * Black / Yellow I intend to write up a full colour code vs Pin vs function when i have them all (for verification and for future help of others) Thanks Guys, i appreciate any help
  10. SS8_Gohan, they balancer is a consumable item though (like a timing belt/fan belt/ idler bearings etc.)... i am pretty sure the nissan recommendation is to replace them around the 100k or 150k mark (can't remember exactly)
  11. now that search is working again, i have found boomslang.us and that GRID do a cheaper loom extension. also found out (through grid) that the RB25, RB20 and RB26 plug is the same (for my purposes.. obviously wired differently)
  12. after doing a long search on the web, i discovered the "FIELD One Touch Coupler Engine Harness Extension" but that is still $150ish. does anyone know if the RB 20/25 ECU plastic plugs are physically compatible with the RB26 ECU
  13. Hi Guys, The ECU plug on my engine wiring loom has been smashed, the majority of wires are intact, however the plastic part isn't, so i can't plug it into my ECU. I am looking for an alternative other than getting a whole rb26 engine loom. i remember a while ago there were a couple of manufacturers that made extension harnesses so that you didn't have to cut into your existing wiring loom. Does anyone know who made these? and if they are still sold or available? (really i am after anything cheap that would give me the ECU plug and around 10-20cm of wire) my other option is to find an RB20DET loom (which from memory is the same plug), and use that plug. Kent

  16. Thanks Johno, recived mine this morning.. Shaun, may be a stupid question, but where does the crank key go? i havn't seen that while removing the stock balancer. and what brand assembly lube did you buy and where from (i have checked the usual supercheap etc. they never seem to have anything more than grease)
  17. thanks Andrew, unfortunately i have found one (but i wish i had got this first ), if it falls through i will let you know Kent
