Just a cover i made myself using cold cathodes and some lexan material. Added some 3D ( bubble graphics ) on top. Just wanted something different from the usual centre plaques for the GTR...Ibelieve a few others have now copied my design but im not bothered as i was the first..lol....

Im sure i have added pics of my engine bay before on the forum but here goes again..Still allot of work to go on including braded hoses and fittings plus a few alloy tanks to be added..

I still have ,loads of the standard parts which can go back on again, then once registered the goodies could find their way onto the car once more...Just need to find out which mods are acceptable and which arent before i decide what im doing with the car...

The car is a 1995 R33 (12 years old ) GTR v-spec.The engine will have R34 N1 turbos and all supporting mods like, fuelling upgrades,ignition upgrades,power FC, boost upgrades--basically everything to run 500bhp.Just about everything else has upgrade parts--brakes, wheels, coilover suspension ( not set to low ), exhaust, interior, sound system, engine fully polished etc.... I have owned the car for 3 years in that time winning many show awards...Its basically i very very nice clean GTR. I have posted pics before and on other forums but here are some to give you an idea of what the car is like..

Hi folks, I registered here a while back and have had a good long read at some of the topics posted.Im moving from sunny Scotland to South Australia ( around Adelaide area ) next year.Now i want to bring my car with me from Scotland (R33 GTR, 1995 car ) and have some shipping prices already. What i need to know is what do i need to do when i get the car over there and the typical costs involved.Have a look through my previous posts to see the car will bea full stage 2 car running aprox 500bhp in the next few months.Do i need to change anything over on the car to pass any import tests etc... All help would be appreciated on this matter as i really want to bring my car over due to the work and time i have spent on it...

Acrylic has quite a high melting point so it should be fine. Think about the clear timing belt covers which are available for the Skyline.

Ran the car for about 20-25 mins yesterday to see how the lights and 3D graphics would hold out, glad to say all is fine at the moment. The cathode lighting is kept in place by semi hardening silicon so it can easily be removed if need be. Will keep an eye on the graphics to see if they have any problems...So alls good so far but needs a longer harder run to see how she goes.

Went out today and fitted an HKS hard pipe kit and gave the engine a quick clean up--here are the results.

Only went for cold cathodes as i had them lying around doing nothing.They are only held in place with some semi hardening silicon so is they get damaged/broken then 2 mins will replace them once the plug cover is off. I beleive the LED would have cast a harder/sharper light with more direction to it--i dont want the light being so and think the cathodes cast a smoother/softer style lighting.

Thanks for the comments.I just thought my car needed that little something else to be able to show the car this coming year ( my last year with the car before emegrating to around the Adelaide area from Scotland ). I made this for myself. Not to difficult to do.Cut the centre section from the plug cover, smooth the edges,cut a piece of clear acrylic to size, order graphics from Likwid Art and add to the acrylic then bond into place add 2 blue cold cathode tubes and wire them up and there you have it...

The blue hosing was from a company in England caled SFS Performance, they have a web addy--go have a look as they are really great quality....I have a bit more of their hoses to go on before im finished...

Reminds me very much of this engine here in the UK.Its one of the big tuners cars..

I have gone for the covers etc to be fully polished up for a nice clean look with some brackets powder coated blue where others are powdercoated black..Still have a hard pipe to fit this weekend which should brighten it up even more..Engine will then get a once over to clean the dirty fingerprints and then i will get some proper pics of the engine and car..

The process has now begun with a conversation with an emegration consultant.Seems to agree that Adelaide seems popular with some good prospects. Anyone got links to companies around the Adelaide area which will allow us to rent for a few months to give us time to consider where to stay. Cheers for the help so far folks..

Yeah Savage i would love to bring the car over but i think it may need to go up for sale so i have all my possible funds in the one place ( the bank ).The last thing i want is to move over with little funds and have problems finding a job and having a load of money tied up in a car which is a luxury. My priorities will need to change to that of work, home and security...and not nice cars... I might look into starting up a car detailing bussiness when i get other things sorted as i love doing this at the moment... You guys have been very very helpful so far so a big Thanks and a Happy New Year to you all...

mmmm--some interesting stuff here for me to get on with.Have now spent 2 days loking at houses in the areas mentioned. We definately like the newer style houses ( no more than 25 years old ). I have contacted a few job recritment agencies to see what the job market and possible income would be like. I have an aunt and a cousin ( seperate families ) living in Australia who i cant contact as this would have been perfect for sponsoring. Will now have to wait until June to apply due to the wife finishing off her degree( Science )..If i use an emigration agency to help complete the paperwork and help move the process on, its going to cost me about 10,000 Aus $...... Read on the interweb that Adelaide is full of boy racers and not a great place to be in Australia... -Comments please..... So far the wife likes the looks of Nothgate,Norwood,Walkley Heights and on the coast Glenelg--but she doent like the idea of painting the home every year, would need to be quite a few streets back.For me it would be Northgate, Walkley Heights and possibly Glenelg( this would make the kids happier )

Thanks again..50k per year is a bit lower than what we are on just now but then again im sure cost of living is a bit cheaper over there. A 500k mortgage over 20 years with a 50k deposit would be--how much per week or month. Whats the cost of renting a 3 bedroom furnished home again in a decent area as this would be our best bet to get to know the areas well

Nightcrawler- When looking at Northgate we found the prices at the very top end of our budget. Would prefer to be looking at around 400-450k. A home of 500k is my top whack unless there are some good rates for martgages to be found. It seems on first looking at it to be a very nice area though. On looking at job sites none seem to have any wage expectancy attached where here in Scotland most have.This will have a big effect on what mortgage i can go for. What would you expect a weekly take home wage to be for Production manager/supervisor Lab Technition Teacher Vet nurse
