  2. G'day all. I a R32 GTR and like most people I want to change a few things here and there, but I want significant power gain for the money that I'll be spending. Engine rebuilt a while ago and currently running 2560's 3 inch cat back compression standard and head work... Before I throw the PFC in and get a tune done i want to know the following... First things first, dump pipes and down pipes. Is it worth the headaches and money changing from stock to aftermarket? Will I notice a gain? Z32 AFM's, I will want to up my boost, so should i just bite the bullet and upgrade from stock, I've seen the Z32 AFM's with adaptor plugs, will they do the job and hook straight up to stock piping? (I'm pretty lazy when it comes to making things work) Last night and all this morning I've been looking at injector mods on SAU, and after reading a shat load of threads and comments i still have no clue where I should start. I'm not too keen on FPR and new fuel pumps, rails and blinging up my engine bay. Something decent and something bigger is all I need, anyone have any suggestions? I've been keepin a eye on the oil catch can thread they seem like a decent i dear, ive alwayse wanted one so I'll have one of them soon too. Any feed back would be appreciated!! Cheers, JUSTIN.
  3. Hey all, I have an R32 GTR, with a few mods here and there. But the other week I’ve noticed a real weird noise coming from my turbos. At first I didn't think much of it, but now it’s a lot louder. I had the engine rebuilt about 4 years ago and new turbos thrown on it, the engine is practically bullet-proof. The turbos are the Garret 2860R like I said they have been on for about 4 years and only done 25-30,000K. Pods are almost new. I have metal plumbing and I know that’s rock solid. This noise only happens when coming onto boost and during boost, but goes a little quieter when I ease off the accelerator to change gears. BOV's work fine too and the noise doesn't seem to affect the power either. The noise is kind of hard to describe.. Imagine the normal turbo air sucking noise through the air pods. And then imagine a slight deep metallic rattle inside that sucking noise. If you can imagine that, then that’s what I have. I have done a little look-see on here and some people have suggested smashed air pods, bung turbo bearings, leaking intake piping, head and exhaust/turbo gaskets. I plan on pulling the intake side of thing apart Friday to have a look at the compressor wheels. BUT before I do that, what else should I be looking at? AND what are the signs of a leaking exhaust/turbo gasket? All help would be appreciated, Cheers, JUSTIN.

Hey Waza_GTR just a few questions about your proportioning valve for the GTR, is it the whole BMC or have you got it in pieces? because all I'm after is the the Proportioning valve side of things, and do you think it would suite mine..? I've got my BMC in to get rebuilt I have already bought a kit for it, but the kit doesn't come with anything for the Proportioning Valve and that's the thing that is dead and I have no i dear where to look for a new one or a replacement. Anyone have any i dears?? I've done a little search but all I could see was stuff about diameters and upgrades. Cheers, JUSTIN.
  7. I have a similar problem or the same problem.. I got R32 GTR. I start it, and after a couple seconds the 4WD light comes on. (It doen't happen all the time. some times the car is normal) I thought it might be the camber of the raod giving the senser in the ATTESSA bottle a faulty reading, so I topped it up and I still have the same problem. Even starting the car on a flat serface it sometimes comes on. If I start the car and immediately drive foward and back a couple of times just a few feet it SOMETIMES stas off and I'm all good. I'll check the speed sensor thing the other guy was talking about. My guess is that its electrical and it really pissing me off. Any one got any more I dears? Cheers, JUSTIN.
  8. Hey all, I need a new master brake cylinder for an R32 GTR with ABS. Who do I see about getting one? I got stuffed over with NISSAN. They sent me a clutch cylinder and I was annoyed and sent it back. And then had to wait a few days to see if Japan have any I got a mate to order me one from Hong Kong, and the prick ran away with the money. I have searched around and asked around and and got nothing, or prople said they cant help.. This is my last resort. Does any one on here know where to get a brand-spankin-new master brake cylinder from? OR Does any one know where to get them re conditioned from? I'm not too keen on trusting a second hand brakes..   9. I finaly found the problem last week. Dry solder joints on the pins in the MAF's. I pulled them appart and re soldered them and haven't had a problem since.
  10. Hey all, I think I might have a problem or two... I have a 32 GTR and this shit has been happening for about a 2 or 3 months on and off now. My stalling problem seems more like something else. It happens after I give it a little stick or when I'm just cruising along it will sound like it has dropped a cylinder and sounds kinda like a WRX. If I leave it in gear and put my foot down, I get no response and no where. If I put the clutch in the rev's will drop heaps and somethimes stall. I've checked the MAF's and cleaned them out. - feels like its fixed, but after about 10 mins of driving the stalling comes back. I've also gone so far as to clean all the oil out the intake piping and cooler. - probably done good but I can't notice it. I've changed the fuel filter in the bay thinking it was cloged. - same as the above. I'm gonna check out the fuel pump thing mentioned through out this forum and I'll let ya know how I went. If you can think of anyting else, throw it up and I'll put it on my "To do" list... right below - burn car!!! Thanks, JUSTIN.

Hey all, I've got a 32 GTR, and I've been having some trouble with my standard MAF's I want to upgrade, and a insted of buying Z32 ones and having the head aches of re-wireing them in and then having more head aches putting them in, and have my air pods bolt up correctly, I was told ages ago from some one (I can't remember who it was now) to go out and buy the Nismo MAF's because the are a bot on upgrade and still read like the Z32 MAF's. Does this sound correct? Thanks, JUSTIN.
  13. OK... Check this shit out. The other weekend I took off the air filters and the air mass meters to give them a clean. WhileI was doing it I noticed in the front turbo pipping a nice little puddle of oil right in front of the turbo housing. I cleaned up as much as I could and cleaned the air mass meters with loads of break cleaner, threw them back in a and went for a spin. It all seemed good untill after a 10 mins or so and the same problem came back. My thought is... Because all the oil is (possible) leaking out the turbo, going through the cooler and to the plennum / bov's and when it creats boost and back off the bov's let it out (but not all the bost), and so come of the pressure is kept inside the plumbing forcing back and blowing / spraying the air mass meeters with oil and and giving it a faulty reading and there fore giving me the shits. (ya dig?) I left my car with a mechanic mate of mine for the week and let them play arround with it. They told me exactually what I told them... I appriceate it, but they are like titts on a bull...
  14. OK, I don't know what you mean when you are refering to a " cas " if your trying to say my car has shot its self, then yeah... As for the tacho needle, yeah it drops. On my way to get some plugs it happened all over again. I just finished changing the plugs and took it for a boot. When I was giving it stick there was a heap load of miss firing going on. And as I was changing the plugs I noticed the air pods are all dirty, like black, dirty. Turns out for some reason oil is coming out from one of air pods... Not healthy, I know... I'm not to sure if its all the blow by / blow back gas or maybe one of my turbos have gone kapoot... My old man said something about the PCV Valve might be shot and causing the oil business... Just what I always wanted... A whole new kettle of stupid fish. Anymore I dears?

  16. Hey, I've searched the forum looking and hopping to find a cure for what ever is wrong with my car, I've done some things people have listed and so far nothing... This is my pickle... I pas going to put this down as bad fuel but I've had about a tank and half since then from another BP... When I'm driving, foot on the peddle just coasting along, and all of a sudden-out-of-the-blue, rev's drop (a lot) , no power, and a little bit of a cough, splutter and a small fit. If I try to plant it it just makes it worse and it keeps on coughing. If I put the clutch in the rev's drop that much it almost stalls. If I put the clutch in and give it a small kick on the go-fast-foot-rest, he's all good. Ever since this started happening which was about a week ago it feels like it doesn't have the same pull. (I don't know if I've gotten used to the boost or what...) I've just changed the fuel filter and that was a bitch... I've added a small bit of injector cleaner too and the problem is still there. But I will admit the pulling sensation does seem a bit better. So here's the question.... Any I dears ? The more I dears the better, Thanks in advance Justin.

  18. Yeah they got me for 4 things so its a Major Defect... I put my car up on a hoist and checked out my exhaust to see if i could lift it any higher. And it won't... So i think i need to raise the car 10mm, get bigger rims or a new exhaust. Does anyone know where to get one of them tool things to adjust the suspension? I got JIC Magic. OR Does any one have spare 17 or 18 that i could slap on for the day while i get the RWC and get rid of this canary?
  19. Hello all... I got a canary the other week... While I was working, while my car was parked in a car park on private property, I wasn't at my car, and to top it off, it was done by the TMU. Is that possable, can the cops do that??? Any way to cut a long story short, one of the four things I got done over for was ground clearance. My muffler is about 97mm off the ground... and not 100mm!!! - I think I speak for everyone when I say this... BASTARDS!!! And what I am asking is, does any one have a site that I can go to where I can find the factory grould clrarance for a R32 GTR. My mate thats doing the RWC says that an R32 GTR comes out lower than 100mm (I really don't know) and he says that if I can prove it then all I have to do is show it to VIC roads and I get off on that one. So if any one out there in Skyline world can help me (and the guy doing the RWC) prove the factory ground clearance is lower than 100mm, then I will lick balls... NO I WOULDN'T! ...I will just thank you heaps and heaps. If your all wondering what I got dicked for it is... Foward sharp projections - I didn't have a front bar on and the reo bar was showing. (I had a small stack a while back) Drivers vission obstrustion - I have dog tags hanging from the mirror and apparently I cant see the road. Drivers instruments obstruction - I have a boost guage on my steering columb and apparently I cant see my dash. Ground clrarance - My muffler is 97mm and not 100mm I have one more question... I haven't touched the ride hight of my car at all, and I got the 15 year rule compliance thing done and have all the paper work for it. Is that enough to get me off the hook??? Thanks Justin.
  20. Hey all, Well, its been over 11 months since i last drove my R32 GTR. Its been getting an engine rebuild done (i know... 11 months - what a joke! ) but the time has come... It starts fine, runs fine, drives fine, but when it makes boost, the intetrcooler piping blows off. My mates that work at the shop have driven it a few times and all them times of driving it, the piping has blowen off. Now the problem is, they say cause its happend so many times now the piping has split. Not alot, just a litle bit, but its right on the passanger side of the cooler. Thats the explanation of my problem... Here is my problem. I NEED steal piping!!! And i have no idear where i can buy the stuff right here-right now. I don't wanna have to click around on sites and order it, wait for the payment to go through, and then wait for it to come over seas of interstate. I want it now!!!!!!!!! So like the very top part says, where can I get reliable, good for 400+RWKW, and easy to fit steal intercooler piping for an R32 GTR ?????? I dont care where it is, so long as its in VICTORIA.   22. hey all I am currently getting my engine rebuilt. well its been off the road for about 7 months now, and i "should" be getting it back next month. and i have a few quick questions regarding the "run in" period.... should i run in my engine for the first 1000Ks and THEN get it tuned? OR should i get it tuned first and THEN run it in? I have an Apexi ecu to go in for when i get it tuned. i have forged internals now - - as well as some other cool nick-nacks. ...OR should i do half and half - run it in for 500Ks and get it tuned then do the other 500Ks??? what do you all think? thanks JUSTIN
  23. ok, heres the thing... I am currently getting a rebuild on my RB26 (R32 GTR). when I get it back and have sorted everything out I should be looking at around the 400 KW mark. so I'm gona need a clutch.there are so many differnet clutches these days and I have no clue where I should be looking, and how much I should spend. all i know is that i want a tripple plate clutch. no clue about " brand " name. so if there is some people out there with this sort of power and have stuffed around with different clutches and knows it all, can you please give me hand?   24. thanks people... From what i just read, i think i wont worry about getting it nitrated. to clear things up, i am using a propper builder for this, i wouldnt have it anyother way. Its my mates work shop. before he started working on every day engines, and cars here, he was building engines for Ferrari it Italy. so i think he has been taught from the best of the best, and he would know a thing or two about percission. i trust him alot with my engine. Also CruiseLiner did you do the work on your engine covers and plenum your self? thanks for the comments. JUSTIN.
