Stay away from cross-drilled rotors. They are fine for the street as they don't really get that hot, but any spirited driving/track activities will crack. There are multiple issues and threads over this etc... If i could find dba 4000 slotted discs for under $320 for the pair i would be laughing! Cheapest i've seen is around $420

Eric, i highly suggest you check out JDMST and the mx5 forums. Tonnes and tonnes and tonnes of mx5 parts. Most of them replace the rear suspension anywhere so they can run -50 degree camber, so you should be able to pick up parts quite easily (stock ones anyway). If you need any help from me photo wise or organizing a little shoot to raise some money let me know. I'm sure Matt and I would be glad to help you out. lolz0rz blacktown autobarn. Nick - Yep.. You don't realize how hard it is to light jewellery for product shots until you take a shot. Reflections are killers. Diffusion is what you need or constant lighting. Hope it all went well and i'm sure the shots turned out good

Had a great day. Run really well and it's a credit to SAU and RENEW for running a great day. Great to meet some of the renew peoples and the usual folk and some new SAU'ers. Also chatted to some of the mini guys too, damn those mini's are cool! If i could be bothered i would head back there for the anniversary track day tomorrow, but that's too much effort. Besides what we all know happened, it was a great run track day and i had heaps of fun. Got a lot of quality photos, thanks to the rotor boys for popping out flames constantly! I'm so knackered and i'll post a few photos tomorrow but for now... i'm off to bed. Thanks SAU!

Get some perspex for reflection underneath, get a light tent. You will need diffusion and a lot of it. Bounce the flashes. The hardest part will be reflections e.g. hotspots. Don't expect it to be easy, it will be hard! Make sure focus is spot on, use a tripod and make sure you keep your shutter speed up around 1/125th on the tripod. Positioning the jewelery will be key too! Don't underquote the job nick!

Come on guys! Photos are definitely worth it and i think myself and matt's quality of imagery definitely will exceed your expectations! We want to come to this as much as you want to race to capture the moments you remember but we need people to sign up! As Matt said, it's along way for me (4 hours one way). The DVD's are cheap!
