Basically a compact DSLR. If your on a super tight budget and can deal with an extreme entry level, Canons 1000D is on sale at clive peters for $600. Although for what you used to do, i wouldn't recommend it lol. Yeah, on my monitor you can see all the detail in the wheels, but i guess my macbook pro needs calibration again because on every other monitor its dark, so i'll re-calibrate tonight with my spyder 3. Overall, i'm pretty happy how it turned out, can't wait to do it at a proper location though. Owen - Take a photo of the back of the flash. Pretty sure we could decipher what means what for you.

Pft no! I was at my cousins brothers sisters aunties uncles nephews sisters grandmothers daughters wedding and the awesome photographer had the flash pointing at the wall to the left side and not at the people he was taking photos of. I asked him why and he said it's because if you point it at the wall, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He said anyone who points a flash at the subject is a n00b....

w00t! Looks nice Owen. Now i see why the 580EXII is so exxy to buy. Comes with metal hotshoe and weathersealed also. For as cheap as this flash was i might pick one up. Although if it's better than my 580, i'll dis-own Canon Take some snaps, you should buy a wireless trigger kit, so you can shoot with the flash off camera. lots of fun!

Yeah super soft light! In regards to that hotspot, i could of burned it down a bit, but decided i would try and get a highlight kind of in there. Although there is nothing to highlight on my car I'm pretty sure in regards to that part, there was a bigass tree there and i had to reduce my distance about 1metre and stand there for about 5secs trying to navigate around the camera and not go into the tree, but keen to see what happens on a proper location with room. Dooooooo it. If you need CS5 for MAC or windows, let me know if your still struggling to get a copy.

Ghetto ties to hold my light inside my 47" Octabox, damn the octa makes the light so soft and buttery. I went way overboard editing this but the point of it was to just bump the contrast and see how the light was hitting my car. Location was where i park it at home and it was 1230am so i didn't go anywhere. I'm pretty happy with a 10minute effort! Would like to go to a proper location when i get time and not have to edit the cr@p out of it to get rid of the colour cast from lamps and sh!tty background. Anyway, let me know what you think (BTW - On my calibrated monitors i can see all the fine details perfectly, but looking at it on my work monitor i can barely see my wheels....).

If i sold all my stuff at least i would have a lot of cash about but i think i'd cry myself to sleep for a week at least haha. Well the media vests are understandable as long as they take good pics etc... but the guys out there with rubbo gear that just got there because of there mates help, i can't justify it... Hey man! Its not apples fault. I'm pretty sure you can't view flash on any phone?? That's why i steer away from flash. Although the slideshow on my blog is flash, but its just a banner head so not really important in my eyes. Phone users can suck it!

fcuk thats good for $135! I'm guessing power output is down a little bit but thats alright get multiple ones You could buy 7 of these almost for one 580EXII or SB-900 lol. Joe McNally styles represent. Comes with bounce card and it can tilt and swivel and its got IR! Also, auto zoom, can be used as OCF in a group and it has ETTL features and lots more! I might have to look into a few of these!
