Well in that case: Go to the devlop tab Put in some general settings like: Contrast: +35 Clarity: +30 Vibrance: +15 Saturation: +5 Something along those lines is what i normally start out with. Then go up the where the histogram is and there is a "brush". Its called the adjustment brush. With this brush you can paint in whatever you want e.g. paint in a -2stop exposure, paint in contrast, paint in clarity etc etc.. Muck around with this. Your pictures could have so much pop once you have figured it out and you'll never look back!

Nice shots Clutch! They don't have to be about cars at all! Just photography in general I would love to see the macro shot with more contrast (the water droplet on the leaf). Could definitely bump that up a bit more and bring the greens out and it would probably bring more of the reflection out of the water droplet. Keep at it, great shots!

Correcting WB is #1 step in all post processing (Well at least mine). I meant, the cars paint, will it appear with a slight blue tint (something that is not correctable by changing the WB). But again, i still think that wouldn't happen as it would only affect the WB, but i was just curious thats all. Yeah for sure, will let you know when i get it!
-
Congratulations Marek and Duncan. Well done! Almost cracked the 1minute mark!
-
Hhmmm, i didn't mean shifting the WB. I meant, would it have a blue glow off the LEDbox or not, but looking at the photo for longer now, it seems there is reflections of the sky. Did you shoot this at sunset? You doing multiple exposures e.g. light certain parts and blend together or are you lighting it as a whole and doing 1minute + exposures? It's nice even light, so well done, keep practicing!!! P.S. My LED light is on its way

It could be that your not viewing the photos at full screen eiresgaus? Maximus the window and see if it still happens. It should go away. Sidd - Just typing in "target=_blank" should still work. The code if you want it to be validated is: <a href="xxxxxxxxxxxx" onclick="window.open (this.href);return false;"><a/>

Nice shots matt! Liking the second one for sure. guessing this was the light painting as i can see the cool blue throughout the cars reflections, looks nice! Should try this with a white car and see if the blue is shown in the paint? Sidd - Talk to you via email about it tomorrow. I'm in the same boat as you also. Work all day, come home, work on photos all night sleep at 1am. It sucks, but it doesn't. In time, it shall pay off. And dammit, stop saying you'll do a few more and then increase. JUST DO IT NOW!!! You told me that like 6 months ago!! Haha.

Holy cr@p another texi already?! Maybe i should enter my little FWD nugget haha.
-
Book Sidd, so i can go to WA and export all the mining treasures!! Do you mean everyone but matboy? Just kidding!
-
Wow you live along way away Owen lol. And you drove back from Texi? Glad nothing went wrong at Texi then! I'm more helping Sidd out as a 2nd shooter than venturing into wedding photography. Too much work for me!

Checked it this morning and it looks cleaner. although why so much "dead space" between the paragraphs and the slideshow? Move it way up to underneath the text. Make the text smaller also. Put a page break at the top so that the paragraph doesn't start basically on top of the Nav bar. And then it will look pimp EDIT****: Make your blog open in a new tab! target=_blank. Although to make this valid in W3, you will need to do what i did. Let me know if you want the code for it.

We do have a wedding in Berry next saturday. Going to be awesome!

Owen thats with a genuine warranty though, its not a grey import So genuine here is around $3100 i think. Not 8 hr and 10hr and $100 per hour after. 6hr package Location shoot Ceremony Reception High Res DVD Two 16x20 enlargements $1600 8hr package Location shoot Ceremony Reception High Res DVD Ten 8x10 prints Two 16x20 enlargements $2200 $150per hour after. Honestly, if i got Ten 8x10's printed and Four 16x20's theres no way i'm making barely any profit for the $300 more you charge than the basic 8 hr you have now. You need to mark up. Your barely making any profit when you think about it. 10 hrs coverage is just throwing away an extra $300. 8 hr coverage is exactly the same. EXTRAS Most wedding 'togs i've seen start at 6hr so they can make free cash basically because it will go for longer. That way if it goes for 8 hrs you can try convince the couple to get your 8 hr package and upsell them and get an extra $600 out of it. I also suggest the 6 hr package only has a "assistant". Not a second shooter. That way you can upsell the 2nd shooter and tell them much more photos will come from that. Charge them $150 for an E-shoot also as an optional extra. At the start of next year start offering albums. Of course this depends on what size you use to what you charge, but i suggest marking this up A LOT because this is your biggest seller. This is where you will get the most money from, potentially even more than you charge for the wedding. Charge them $30p/h for travel fee's as well if its outside of metro sydney e.g. blue mountains/hunter valley/BERRY (haha). Have an extra thing with the 8 hr or the 6hr package available where you bring some props like umbrellas/random orniments/sunglasses/stupid props for the location shoot. Maybe charge like $25 for that or include in the packages. ONLY INCLUDE IT IN ONE OF THEM. UPSELL IS VITAL!!!!!!! You are losing way too much money! Your prices are too cheap for the work you put out. Your client base is increasing and you don't want to get "stuck" in that trap of oh he's really really good and he's really really cheap! You want to get the "He's amazing, and his prices reflect it". Email me if you want to discuss further.
-
I've told you many many times you need to change your pricing structure!!!! Ripping yourself off!!! Charge more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Owen - By the time your ready to upgrade, the 70-200 2.8 IS (not the MKII) will be alot cheaper. I paid $2400 for mine, but the prices are dropping fast. If you want to buy lenses or anything buy them from B&H! 98c to the dollar! MASSIVE savings! Some websites: www.adorama.com www.bhphotovideo.com

Somebody has got to want this! Bump. -

Sweet F1 shots! It's a shame the fence is visible in a few of them. What aperture were you shooting? I've heard and tried it out although it depends on the fence, if you shoot at really wide apertures then the fence is virtually non existant in the photos. How was it being at an actual F1 race? Must go to one!

I donno hey hahaha. Good contrast definition between red and gold? Who knows. Either way he ate sh!t getting out of the basket and it was hilarious haha.
-
Haha thanks Terry. It was a good day and yes, i tried to find Matt but theres so many users on here i got no idea what his username is. If your reading, again, would like to say thanks for hanging back and many many thanks for actually turning around and coming back! Did not even see your car had its parkers on! I hope you enjoyed the pies and drink whilst your 34 got depressed and flat lined Looking forward to the event, it's definitely shaping up to be a big one!

Hektik pre-run... Lucky i didn't die Hahaha. Got home at like 515 Oh well. Glad we got the photo location sorted and sussed everything out!

Nice shot mat! And nice photo owen, keep using the camera!

I always advise against flash for websites, but 90% of wedding togs use flash for portfolio's etc... because they can play it with music. Strongly recommend against music on a website! If you MUST have a website with music, at least have controls so you can turn the sh!t off!!!!!!!!!!
-
Looks SH!T!!! Hahaha only kidding man hahaha, i amused myself a lot with that... Looks nice! Looks like general wordpress font in italics Hahaha. Nice! Simpleviewer is that what the photo display down the bottom is? Looks like it. Would it be possible to have it display as a slideshow, WITHOUT displaying the pics down the bottom? So a flash slideshow kind of? You got rid of the two links there (saw it on boostcruising the guy that commented or JDMST cant remember so I see you’ve removed them) so i can't comment on them, but i saw them before and they looked alright, but you already have a packages menu in the nav bar. In regards to your email about how to get a sidebar, just create a div and use padding/margin so you create a line on the left side to seperate. It will have to integrate OUTSIDE the div that has all the content. You will also have to put padding in on the right side of the content (i am assuming you want testimonials etc.. on the right side). So just create a div called sidebar with 100% height and 100px etc... width with padding and add a margin. So if your page is 800px wide, you will need to make the main content 700px and then the sidebar 100px to keep it proportional. It is possible using CSS and XHTML coding just have to play around a bit Website doesn't load too slow, seems reasonable. I would stick to around 20-25 photos of your BEST work. Put them all through photoshop again and resize them to the exact amount and edit the sh!t out of them. Think of it as a portfolio. That way you can use it for a portfolio page in the future if you want. Also, i just realized about your packages. I would change them around so the first package was 6 hrs and the second was 8 hrs. Your ripping yourself off for the quality of work you and i know you can put out. $150 every hour after also.

Sidd it was a joke lol hence the "hope its not too artsy" (its just a black box). Thanks Passive for using my desktops! More desktops are going up tonight, so i'll post in here when its done. Matt - I would of liked the car more to the left of the frame to seperate. And as Nick said, green on green. And, i think cause i think its ugly, i don't like it, but thats just me. Lighting wise it's excellent! Maybe try lighting it from a bit further away or use a diffuser? Bit harsh on the front end shot. Also, try and paint it straight. That way in the rear shot, the white light across the top of the boot would be straighter and would detail it better i think? Oh and thanks Basti for commenting on my blog
