  4. Nice
  5. Pm me their MM details so I can a better idea if you have that info.
  6. Thanks 23n|\|0n
  7. wheres that 17-50 from man? How do the Tamron/Sigma compare to the nikor/canon glass?
  8. You don't really need pics. We just found a few locations that might be fun for the the model(s), and a car or two. Meeting point = Novatel Homebusy bay, which is across the road from the Olypmic Park Train station. Meeting time = 3.30 Sharp. We'll head to the first location at 4. (or earlier if every one is ready) there's plenty of parking near by. Sidd, what are the girls going to be wearing? like what style of clothing did you mention? Car wise, Sean has his white 34 gtr v-spec coming. Sidd, you're always banging on about getting some good shots of your ride. Clean it, that's our new 2nd car for the day
  9. cool cars
  10. Agreed. i got my nifty fifty from ebay for $140 a while ago. Perfect for people and detail shots. so sharp and clean. DOF is mad. I was playing aruond with it last night in Nicks car as we were driving along. I'll post one up tonight. For cars a 35mm 1.8 would be better, but the 50 is ok. just need to get back a distance if you're trying to get it all in frame.
  11. Rad bike. Similar to mine. Used to race BMX for like 11ty years and riding a bike with different geometry just feels gay. I'll post a pic of mine tomorrow if i remember. Anyhoo... here's a shot from texi waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back. Someone here might recognise the car... this was taken before Me and Kory had 5 minutes with it in a carpark... all alone.
  12. just spend a bit more time on it dude. All it can do better than your P+S in auto mode is give you a bigger picture and a sharper picture (Depending on a few things) I know your not blaming the camera, I'm just saying you need to spend more time on it. It's not the hardware that makes awesome photo's. A camera is just the paint in your hand. Good luck mate!
  13. Dude, there is NOTHING wrong with your camera. What you're doing wrong is you haven't spent a bit more time practicing and learning about the possibilities. If you just want to point and shoot it, use a point and shoot. If you give your granma your lambo to hit the shops she's not really going to appreciate it if she just drives it exactly like she'd drive her fiesta. Did you expect to just point it at something and have everything turn out awesome? The A for auto mode, not Awesome mode! (Don't use auto. it's crap) Learn how to shoot manual, or 'S' or 'A' priority. This was taken with my D90, with my kit lens, which is the same as yours. Minimal photoshop too. Only adjusted levels and contrast i think. nothing fancy though.
  14. Farris, post what ever you want man. variety is the spice of life Shots are nice and sharp. good angles too on a couple! (focus, mustang)
  15. to be honest, i dont see a problem with those shots. The problem might be the picture you see isn't what you were trying to capture, or your expectations from the camera in auto mode. There's more settings, more options, more information. It's kinda like the difference between describing something to someone who knows nothing, or describing it to an expert. Like explaining a car to your girlfriend (Point and shoot) It's a red car and it's new. 'cool' Or to an expert it's a red car and it's news 'what make model?' what year? what mods? power output? RWD? blah blah you need to fill in more blanks to paint a richer picture or tell a more detailed story.
  16. That's pretty clear man. that's using a tube and not a dedicated lens yeah? I shot a couple buildings in the city over the weekend jay, I'll post one up later on did you do a bunny hop to get to the 10th story? haha Post a pic of your bike.
  17. this is a sexy shot!
  18. First off, your white balance looks really blue. This makes shots look a bit murky. Read up on White Balance adjustment, and don't be afraid to mess with settings. You can change stff back or reset it later on. My WB is usually Auto A3 (which gives a little bit of warmth) Secondly, you're metering mode is set on pattern. Try Matrix, or shift it around. Look at your screen to see which focus points are active. The good news is you're camera is fine. Lens is fine too. Those shots are ok. You might need to bump up your ISO if your shutter speed is creeping up in the light you have. Go into your menu. Set Picture Control. There's a bunch of modes in here. Experiment. Enjoyu!
  19. settings are settings regardless of model and even brand. You'll need to play around and work out what menu takes you where and blah blah, but the real important stuff is universal. things like shutter speeds and apeture wont have different meansings. just experiment and read lots. where? type photography fundamentals Or rules of photography in google and go hard!
  20. Like Kory said with out a shot or two it's like telling your Dr you don't feel well and asking whats wrong with out any extra info. Make sure you post up full size and straight from camera. We will need the Exif data embedded in the shot, it contains all relevant camera settings. Hopeflly it's just something simple like user error, user error is really quick and fairly cheap to fix I shoot with a D90 and had a lot of practice with the 18-55. It's a great lens in terms of bang for buck. I'll check back this evening for these shots. post up at least one from LOW Light and one of these shots you took out in the sun.
  21. Thanks Sidd, I fixed that problem up. checked your site, the logo suits well. i like your intro at the start too. very and professional, the shots that scroll at the top are all top notch as well. be proud!
  22. Just had a look on Maps at homebush to try and pick a spot to meet and shoot. It just highlighted how little I know the area Nick, have you had a look yet? Botanical gardens might be a good place to start, pending vehicle access.
  23. I am subscribed you shaggy mofo. Nothing. nuttin, Nata. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
  24. Nick is confirming location yeah? Time wise, 3 or 4 suit people? gives us a bit of light. Are we shooting one or 2 cars? Sidd, give us an update with as much details as you've got. maybe we'll be able to fill in the blanks as a team
  25. Also with the light painting, make sure you are between the camera and the light source, or you'll pop up as a 'ghost' if you stop moving. where's some of these 4x4 shots? ;o
