  5. Wouldn't swap for a stock R33 Gts-t s2. You could consider it as a new project
  6. Quakin, i was in your shoes 2 weeks ago dude. Now i drive a R33 SII from EVO motorsport. What have i found about the car in the past 2 weeks. Its a head turner, stock, not stock, you will get everyone looking at your car. If you want to float your ego, they are the way to go.... But they also turn the head of cops.... don't expect to go out to civic, any day of the week and not expect to get pulled over from the cops.. its a tuesday and i just came back from a drive, and got pulled over in civic, just ot looks at my rego papers. Expect to pay alot for petrol, especialy for a daily use car, your in the same boat as me, i drive it to dickson and back( tugg) and i pay a shit load for fuel. Remember the fuel prices are getting higher, and you have to pay for 98 Octane. You have to take in acount that you have to get it serviced every 5,000km.. 5,000km sounds alot, but personal, in my first 2 weeks, i have driven the car about 1,000km. 4 tanks of petrol, and the costs mount up. Keep in mind that i drive it hard every 2nd night, so your fuel and your km wont be as high as mine. But the costs are still high If you want it to look cool, your going to take your mates for a drive the first time you get the car. Expect the first month to be a real money eater Insurance is a big hole in the pocket. I'm paying about $4,000 for comp insurance, do your homework on insurance, and know what your getting into. ALOT, in fact MOST, insurance companys wont touch you no matter what level of cover you want. I bought mine from EVO as i said, basicaly cos i got a 12 month warrenty with it, unlimited Kms. I have used it so far, just to fix minor things.. My car wasn't idoling properly, and my brakes squeeked. But Evo were more then happy to fix them free of charge. and if the problems persisted, they said they would invite me into the workshop to watch the work they do, just so i was happy. Also EVO offer people who have purchased cars from them great prices on mods. But it isn't all doom and gloom, if you havn't driven one of these car, as the movie says, "DO IT, JUST DO IT". You don't know what your buying untill you have test driven one, dealers arn't going to give you the keys easily. So a private drive would be best. If someone won't let you drive their car, PM me and i come round some time and let you drive mine. They are awsome to drive, my mate just got a WRX, and said he loved my car, nice handling, nice speed, and good looks all on a stock car. Bolt on parts, and high majority of Skyline owners moding there cars means plenty of parts. Moding to your dream car will be a breese, and pretty cheap too. They arn't a car for everyones budget, you have to factor in the maintainance,as your prob know with the 180, but, if you can afford one of these cars, then buy one as quick as you can. They are a hell of a car to drive, and you can teach some holden drivers what a fast car really is. PS. The Miss's Will love you too, she likes the head turns as well. Hope this help you make up your mind.. PM me if you have any queries, as i was in that exsact boat 2 weeks ago. And on a another note, go the R33 sII, is going to be worth more in 3 -5 years.
  7. I took it to Evo motorport, the place where i bought it, and they said that it was the atmophere??? valve. Basically said that it was chockers with carbon, and just needed to be cleaned.. Works a treat after that
  8. Hey, wondering if anyone can be of help. I have a r33 sII and it keeps stalling. What happends is that sometimes it has real trouble idoling. The best way i can simulate the staling is when i'm in neutral and idoling, if i rev the car up to 1 1/2 to 2G's. then take my foot off, it drops down to way below 500revs, then it trys and corrects it, then goes to high and then drops down again. Most time it corrects itself, but sometimes when i have the stereo and climate control on it screws up and stalls. And last night, with the stereo on and climate, when i pushed my foot on the clutch for about 2 -3 secs, it stalled on me, i was doing about 60 around a corner and the power assited steering and brakes went bye bye. So if its just the car is idoling to low, or if it sounds worse, could some1 tell me what i could do? If i need to change my idol point, then some info on that would be great. Cheers Qunto
  9. For anyone that cares, I drive the white '97 SII GTST, with the crappy chromes. The chromes came with the car. Give us a wave if ya see us. only got it on the 23rd
  10. Hi, i just bought a R33 SII 97 GTS-t and i have noticed that on the internal stock boost gauge that it never reaches +7 psi. The car is in stock condition, as far as i can tell, but it does look like it has been detuned by the old fart that had it before. How can i tell if i'm running 4 pound or 7 pound amd if it is running 4, how can i make it 7? Any ideas
  11. Auroa that would be me, new car...
  12. I have to tell you all that you that Optimax and Ultimate are the same fuel, at least in NSW, ACT and VIC. Ultimate used to be good when it was trucked over from Perth a couple of years ago, but now they come from the same place, Shell fuel depo in Penrith. Your all imagining things, and if you ask the truck driver of the next Ultimate delevery to your nearst petrol station. He will tell you that he got his load from Penrith NSW. You perth boys, go your to BP.. its better fuel. PS i worked for shell.
