  1. Nope I drove it and It keeps proper AFR's whilst under load as well, I know neutrul rev's aren't the best indicator of problems and correct afr's but it worked well as a baseline as I knew where it should be. It runs rich in cold start and then you can hear a noticeable change in idle and then it run's 12's afr's after the O2 was fixed. Run's better than ever. If your oil level is above normal and contains fuel, I would assume you will get blow by which could cause numerous problems no? Explain to me how this would not effect things please, rather than saying how would that work. I don't attest to knowing everything but I sure won't take your advice without explanation. I figured it was a good idea to change anyhow. I did not once say it was the problem but I new there was a chance it'd help. Fixing the O2 sure does change afr's, I know for a fact it sends a reading to the o2 and at .5v would be supposed proper afr's at idle. I wouldn't think the ecu would disregard this at idle. RX
  2. Changes in vacuum? and oil filled with fuel can create an increased liquid amount could create blowby? Anyhow I found that the red wire on the oxygen sensor was broken and repaired it, after the repair and having the car warmed up allowed my car to regain proper AFR's and rid itself of the choppy revs. It's quite funny that you were so sure of a boost leak that you went out of your over confident simpleton ways just to prove what you thought was a valid point! To anyone reading this thread with similar problems besides this stagea fanatic , I would definitely recommend you check your o2 sensor with a multimeter. BT
  3. So far I've checked the ecu and have got the 55 "all good", tightened all the silicone couplers for the charge piping but nothing yet, Thinking of loosening the BOV a bit, changing the fuel and changing the oil as there is a slight gas odour.
  4. You guys are a funny crowd, I've ran the car with no charge piping and it revs through the range fine whilst being pig rich, I'll figure it out sooner or later and post what the actual problem is. Thanks for the help I guess. RX
  5. Yes that would help, it has a mines ecu, fmic, custom plenum, custom charge piping, bov, fpr etc. Stock ignition It ran 12's afr's when I first installed the wideband whilst still running the oem o2 sensor. It always ran fine with a slightly high idle as my cold start and iacv share the same vaccum line. And it ran fine, after working on the body for a couple months I started it one day to it going in and out of rich and normal afrs. And now it will not pull itself out of being pig rich and 15 psi vaccum at idle. Seems to me like it's not a boost leak as it shudders before it builds any amount of boost. Seems like it's running rich with on a retarded map. Rx
  6. Hey all, I have been losing my shit while my car is in the paint booth with the weight of it not running right. Currently the car is running pig rich in the 10 afrs with a high idle and is spooling the turbo and stuttering past 3500rpm in the neutral position. It almost sounds like anti lag. Having discovered this I since checked the TPS and replaced the MAF sensor, the new-used OEM MAF cleaned up the idle a bit and the car no longer died after any amount of throttle but the two-step action is still present. I have a new temp sensor on order, the only other thing that comes to mind is the Oxygen sensor but I cannot see how either would effect it so greatly. Surely there are others who have overcome this, as I have read about others with the same propblem but with no posted fix, RX,
  7. Plugs were fouled so I changed them with the bcpr6es and the idle surging/spiking to almost dieing went away. Cleaned iacv, and messed with the tps, set it too .5v closed and it 4.2v wot. Ordered a new maf. Has a small miss and still runs 10's in afrs while cold. For is set at 46psi not running and 36psi at idle with vacuum on. Not sure what the deal is. Rx
  8. Also experiencing it want to die after any amount of revving, vaccum related?
  9. Anyone ever experience their rb20det running in and out of rich 10 afrs and then 12s switching back and forth? I am assuming it runs 10's on cold start up map but will it go rich when too hot as well? Or is it my fan drawing to much power. All of this was noted on idle. Rx
  10. 15 psi with the 1 inch hole right in front of the wastegate outlet. I have and auto meter boost guage after shortening about 4 feet of hose to about 1 it read 15 in 3rd while 10 in 1st and 10- 12ish in 2nd Rx
  11. Alright guys, took the car out for a rip the before starting the bodywork. Was creeping 15 psi in third on the 25 turbo. I have not welded the dump pipe on yet but there is a 1" hole I drilled in the flange we had made. I assume the creep is caused by the fmic, larger piping,3" exhaust, ffp, and rb25 turbo. But would the screamer hole actually cause this or would it be the list of parts mentioned above? Rxl
  12. You'll be going to fast under boost for those noxious fumes to build up!
  13. Okay will have to check it out, I guess our 91 octane is a bit counter productive with the miens tune. Is it possible to retard the timing by knocking the camshafts back a tooth, or would this even help?
  14. Yes I did need clearance for my hood to fit properly plus I didnt get the factory fmic, so it was a cheaper and better alternative.... Not worried about the policia, they're to dumb to figure it out here in canada Building a full stainless exhaust and building the screamer, I know it has to be divided and I can get a better seal than aftermarket along with a longer screamer tube.. But maybe I'll just do a recirc... Nistune is a nice setup but to be able to run that shit is way too expensive at the moment. Mines will have to do for a little while. So 47 psi for fpr with vac line? Thanks for all the comments guys, much better than nikoclub lol.

  16. Hmmm, thanks for the quite responses guys, Exhaust isn't built yet as it's a freshly swapped and running FB rx7. Going with full 3" inch and bell mouth , in case I want to slap a holset in later (why is it a bad idea to do an atmospheric gate pipe?). I know the intake actually reduces engine temp it must being so close to the engine? Mine is custom and uses only the upper half and was free so can't complain. I have heard that mines ECU's are junk but this thing does scream much more than others I have heard... as long as it's not running lean? the 10psi actuator will creep with added flow mods? Can I use my mines tuned ECU with nistune?, $600 for nistune, 300- 400$ injectors and a wideband seems like quite the step up lol. Especially after buying a full adjustable suspension setup. Probably won't be doing that for some time. Seems there are so many myths surrounding the rb20det lol.
  17. Hey all, Wondering If I need to upgrade my injectors, Not sure what duty cycle they are running at now but I would not like to upset anything. Cockchompers at mines haven't answered my emails in months, let alone the info coming from them would be all that great. It's not in my budget right now for new ones so I'de like to pick your brains for a bit. If I have an increase in fuel pressure I should be able to compensate for the added boost/flow.If yes what is a good fuel pressure to be running and where should the FPR be set with vaccum on/off? Or do I need new injectors at this point? If so, I take it I need an EMS or piggy back to tune accordingly? Rb20det parts list: Mines ECU tuned for stock? Pod filter RB25DET turbo with 10psi actuator Full 3" exhaust Screamer downpipe Aftermarket FMIC with 2.5" piping Custom front facing intake plenum (more volume than stock) Sard fuel pressure regulator. Walbro 255 Fuel pump
