  1. the cams are for an RB20DET

i was wanting to get 264 in and out but the person i have been talk to can only do the below combo.

the other option i was thinking was Tomei Poncams 256 in and out with 8.5mm lift

    any opinions people?

  2. What head are those cams to suit?

  3. Hi Guys,

    just a quick question.

i have a R32 rb25de head with no cams and was thinking of getting the following:

    2202-RN170, IN (256deg) (Lift 8.8) (valve timing 110)

    2202-RN175, EX (264deg) (Lift 9.0) (valve timing 115)

what are your ideas on how these will go on a RB30/25 build

  5. Hi guys just have a few quick questions,

    1) it was brought up about 7 pages ago.. but does anyone know if you can use apr rob bolts for a vg30 or a rb26 on rb30 rods? what rod bolts are people using when using stock rods.

and Cubes, have you pulled the rb30 guide? i keep getting page can not be displayed

  6. Loony Head,

    I can answer.

The answers are in the guide, we used the same measurements for lowering the motor. Off the top of my head I can't remember.

There is no clearance issues with std ic piping.

With regards to how close to the cross member.. It sits closer by how much its lowered by. :D

Try not to think to much.. Its all very easy. Simply lower the motor, bolt everything up, extend the dump pipe height a little to meet the extra height.. Thats all that needs to be modified, everything bolts up perfectly.

thanks cubes i was reading the guide and it didn't say how close the sump got the the cross memeber and was just checking, cause the sump sits in line with the cross member at the moment with the rb20 in there and i didn't want to worry about losing the sump if i hit a bump once the rb30 went in :(

  7. A pic of my engine in R32 as it is, makes 312rwkw.

Hey sky30 nice looking engine bay man. love the sleeper look.

i have a few questions, how much did you lower the engine mounts by and how close does the engine get to the front cross member now?

and do you have any problems with the bonnet running the standard intercooler piping?

    thanks

    Phill

  8. would standard pistons and rods be good for 300rwkw?? i am looking to run a rb30 with stardard bottom end

    rb25de head gasket

r32 rb25de head with rb26 valve springs, gtr cams and standard manifold.

what sort of turbo would be best for 260-300rwkw, i am thinking a holset hx35 or a garrett 3040.

does that sound like a good idea. i would like any feed back people have

    thanks

  9. hi guys just a quick question about head gaskets. i don't under stand squish zones. i have a rb30 with a r32 25de head, i am going to use stock pistons. which head gasket would be best, what thickness as well?

sorry if this has been covered before.

    thanks

  10. has anyone welded a gtr plenum on to rb25de runners e.g. cut the intake manifold about 2-3 cm where it bolts to the head then weld a gtr manifold on to the runners? cause for the price of doing that vs trying to run the cross over pipe it looks like a good deal, i am just not sure if it will work.

    thanks

  11. does anyone know any easy way you get the bottom crank gear(if that is what is called) off. people have been saying drill it and bang it off then get a new one. is there a better way? will a bearing puller get it off??

    thanks
