  1. had my car up for mapping yesterday. all went well, until 6000rpm. i am running d-jetro and an apexi avcr. when the tor/bhp graphs get to 6k there is a drop then spike then drop then spike to 8k?,. we tried all ways of mapping it out using the avcr also wired the boost solenoid to the original solonoid wires and activated boost kit in the ecu? this seem to cure the problem on the rollers, but the solonoid clicks all the time, then on the way home first time to open it up about 7 miles from the dyno it spiked at 1.76bar. saw a thread on datalogit ref ( sawtooth ) on the gtrs on a dyno dynamics roller. any help would be appreciated guys.. at the moment i have wired the avcr in but this will spike up and down at 6-8k... help please..bernie. p.s final figures were 560bhp/460ilbs @ 6k. basic spec, 2530/720/264/272 9.15mm/forgies/n1 oil/water/hks elbows/tomei fuel/hks fuel reg/exedy twin..
  2. thanks for replying. i have already gapped them. the top ring and second ring are fine. when you assemble the three oils scraper rings they are too big for the bore without piston?. the two rings that fit either side of the brass scraper gap up fine in the bore but when they are located on the brass scraper the end gap increases because of the lip that is built into the inside edge of the brass scraper, this in turn pushes the top/bottom scraper rings outwards causing them to be to big for the bore.. i put the three oil scraper rings on the pistons and tried a ring compressor and it wont tighten them down into the piston. they will not compact enough. yet the kit came with the pistons and the top/second rings when fitted to the piston are great no probs?. i am baffled. shaun
  3. hi guys, just fitted some 86.5mm cp pistons to my rb26 rods. two things really. firstly the pins fitted in the pistons with no heat, just pressed in. snug and tight. i needed to slightly reem the little end with 1200 wet & dry first because the pin was not rotating in the little end just the pistons. does this seem right. secondly the oil scraper ring when fitted to the piston without the top and bottom rings that go either side of it seems to long. i.e. it meets end-end before it touches the piston all the way round. hence when i gapped the rings the top and second compression were fine and the top and bottom oil rings were fine in the bore, but when you assemble the three components of the oil scraper it will not go in the bore. i have e,mailed cp with part number on the 3 packets as they come in pairs, it just seem odd they are wrong. the best way i can describe it is when you fit the two oil scraper rings in the bore the end gap is .50mm, then fit them to the scraper and the end gap becomes 1.00mm?. any cp men out there. peter (pnblight) maybe. thanks guys.bernie/uk
  4. hi all.my s/h turbo,s have just landed from japan, they had done 8,000 miles on a car there. all the oil has drained from the bearings while on route. but while looking at them i checked the fins, no damge but a little bit of lift and a little end float, spoke to a friend and he thinks that being roller bearing this is to be expected as when they warm up with the oil going through will take out this play... just wondered if anyone had removed some 2530,s that had done about the same mileage and could comment...thanks bernie. __________________

  6. hi all. my aircon compressor on my 33gtr has just siezed up. its a zexel compressor.part numbers are dkv 14d. 1731, 92600 24u02, 506021-3091.these are all the numbers on the body of it. question is i have found one in japan but the numbers differ. its a zexel but the numbers are dkv 14d, 506221-1102. does anyone know if it is possible to fit this onto my car?. the pumps are identical in every way to look at pipes, wire plugs mounts etc.any help would be appreciated..bernie.uk p.s. here,s what my pump looks like.

  11. hi mate, my 33gtr has a cusco tank on it and it fills twice a year about a pint. done this for the last few years. never loose,s water no oil contamination. if you do short bursts and it damp weather the engine will absorb moisture from the atmosphere as it cools. normalyy [without a catch tank] it is sucted into the turbo and burned, but this lowers the air density in the chamber hence less power, catch tank takes the moisture away from the turbo.just empty it and carry on as usual. hope this helps..............bernie/uk.
  12. hi all, just thought i would introduce myself and put up a couple of pics.live and born in the uk,family in ballarat and surfers paradise.registered as i have just bought a secondhand os giken triple plate clutch from japan, unfortunately the first plate is worn out on one side and i was surfing this site to see if anybody had relined there plates.car puts out around 450bhp, not sure what that is in kw,s as we dont really use it much here.i,ll keep searching thanks...bernie.p.s car is a 95 gtr v-spec in clear active red, is there many in australia as it is rare in the uk.
