  1. I'll be bringing back my car to Australia, but I hear that you can bring another car back through some other scheme. Is that true? I have another car which I haven't had for too long but if I could bring that back that would be good (because I paid a lot of money for it). Can I do it? Reason why I'm going back is because of a death in the family. Don't know if that is a good reason to explain to customs.
  2. Found this on the net : NISSAN AT THE TOKYO MOTOR SHOW 2005 – GT-R PROTO At a glance: Ultimate driving pleasure Exterior design close to final Official launch set for 2007 At the 35th Tokyo Motor Show in 2001, Nissan unveiled the GT-R Concept, confirming that the GT-R legend would be continued into the 21st century. Then, at the 37th Tokyo Motor Show in 2003, Nissan announced the next-generation GT-R would be rolled out in 2007. Now with the launch of the production model just two years away, the development of the new GT-R has moved ahead again with the reveal of the GT-R PROTO. Ultimate driving pleasure In essence, driving pleasure means that a car responds faithfully to the driver's wishes and performs precisely as expected. Successive generations of the GT-R have consistently pursued this vision of ultimate driving pleasure. Whether on the road or the racetrack, the GT-R has always represented ultimate performance combined with handling qualities that stay faithful to the driver’s wishes, in all conditions. As a result, the GT-R has built a reputation that extends far beyond just its loyal owner base. Exterior design: pure performance The design of the GT-R PROTO expresses pure GT-R heritage, coming from the first model PGC10 (1969) through R34 (1999), in a new and expressive form. From its original roots as a pure-bred Japanese performance car, the new GT-R will now be a car sold globally, recognising its ability to compete with the very best in the world. For the first time in its history, the new GT-R will be designed as a specific body-style, and not derived from a sedan. The design language of the GT-R PROTO is expressed by a distinctive body-style that communicates pure performance and functionality. The form of the GT-R PROTO instantly expresses its purpose and potential, but in a way that is unique to this iconic car. At the front end, the single centre air intake is designed to optimise airflow and to strongly link the identity of the GT-R from R34 to GT-R Concept (2001). Front fenders are uniquely designed through intensive analysis of the airflow around the tyres and the air vent behind the front fender also optimises aerodynamics. The sides of the body are sculptured towards the rear fender, expressing the power and dynamic tension of the car. The overall shape of the body combines solid and smooth surfaces to achieve the look of a well-trained athlete. The unique C-pillar crease is designed for optimum aerodynamics, reflecting the racing DNA of the GT-R. The rear of the GT-R PROTO is strong and well defined. The signature four ring-shaped tail lamps provide an immediate visual link to previous GT-R models. Four large-bore exhaust pipes complete the purposeful look, which could only be that of a pure GT-R. The GT-R PROTO provides for the first time a clear indication of the final design direction for the production model to be launched in 2007, the first all-new GT-R in eight years. Since the first picture disappeared, here's another one : I don't think the new GTR will look like that, it'll be a little more boxy. PS. MY350z deleted my thread! EDITED : I found another picture!
  3. Do you have pictures to support that? It looks like the same car, the other "sister cars" are different in colour.
  4. Christ that was fast! So I can get someone (like my brother) to do the clearance for me if I'm not there yet right?
  5. Just wondering how long does it take for a car to leave the shores of Japan and arrive in Melbourne waters? Does it take a month or 2? Can I get a friend to pick it up on my behalf if I'm not there to pick it up myself?

    I lost my job!

Bastard! but you're probably right. I just came back from Gunma/Nagano/Nikko and I was wondering WTF were the beautiful views. Chiba is a boring dump in comparison but we do have a lot of nice cars.

    I lost my job!

Sorry to hear that Rezz, hope you got paid before the company folded. I'm looking for a job myself and I may have to move to a new place which I hate tremendously.
  8. Some of it was real drifting. Seriously, the story was warped. I'm pretty sure ID fans walked out feeling that this was more a movie about Jay-whatshisface than Takumi/Bunta/AE86. Piece of crap. They should have consulted the writer and do a movie about Bunta, his driving legacy, the birth of Takumi and why the wife left them. It would have been awesome to have seen the AE86 take the mountains with other similarly older cars like the older RX7, Subaru Vortex, 280zx, BMW E30 M3 etc etc. Now that would have been quite a story worth seeing, as well as the sequel.

    ramen

Ramen is glorified noodles with slices of meat, chopped up onions and other assortment of vegetables. Pretty much the same as what you get in other Asian countries, except Ramen is prepared in a neat, articulate manner. I don't really like it, it still taste like 2 minute maggi noodles to me.
  10. Let me coin a new phrase : CRAP TO THE MAX. I don't know how they could multilate an original so badly. Acting, directing, dialogue everything was crap. The only good thing about the movie was that my car was in it, and that Japanese girl with better acting ability than the rest of them. OK, rant over.
  11. Some good points there Masahiro, BTW are you Japanese (ok you are!!). Anyway, it would definitely help your case if you can speak Japanese, but it would be even better if you were a good communicator and a great personality. That goes for any job at any place actually. One time at an interview, there was an Aussie guy who not only had a speaking problem, but his elaboration of ideas was meek to say the least. You could tell he was not a talker. He was not far of from being your friendly plumber though (no offence to any plumbers here). Working in Japan is no longer as attractive as it once was. Korea and China are two of the most culturally interesting places to go to in Asia. Still, if you like Japanese culture and would want to marry a Japanese girl someday then by all means do all you can to get youself over here.
  12. I might come down a bit harsh but there is a reason why we all had to earn our degrees before getting the good jobs. First, it makes you seasoned as an academic. Companies look at perseverance, accomplishment and achievement throughout your HS and Uni years. If you are a high achiever, your chance of getting a job of responsibility would be far greater (way better than being told what to do and not get anywhere). Maturity comes a long way, a lot of companies can't deal with young, emotional, inexperienced people. Think customer service. You may have done some private tuition but have you really taught all kinds of people ? (ie. kids of all ages, noisey unbearable kids, slow students). You haven't finished your degree, somewhere down the track its going to bite you and bite you hard. Its better to set the foundation first before setting onto the next step. That's my advice for anyone trying to take the shortcut. There is no shortcut in life, you have to work for it.
  13. A D70??? You bastard! :Pimp2: Though the last one was probably the best. I'm getting a serious camera myself though the nightshots will not be as good. What do you think of Konica Minolta A200? Or the Pentax isx*d (forgot the name).
  14. Hi, well my car needs to be shaken and I would like to know how I can do it myself without having to go through a repair shop. I know the cost of doing it myself will be far cheaper so would appreciate anyone's advice on this. Thanks!
  15. I thought we couldn't import 15 year old cars to Australia anymore, has the rules changed?
  16. I haven't heard from him for a while now. Hope everything's ok.
  17. I know this has been posted before, but just wondering if I went with this kit, is the car passable when bringing it back to Australia?
  18. What do you guys think of this bodykit? Is it too wide for Australian road authorities?
  19. OK thanks Rezz! Do you answer PM? because funkymonkey doesn't.
  20. If I had the car for 2 years but didn't use it in the last 6 months due to rego expiring, will I still be able to ship the car? I will still be paying for parking, would that be enough or just take the plunge and go for the shakken?
  21. Yeah I thought it might be Yokohama. Nice pictures.
  22. Yukz2daizzo, where about do you live? Where is that by the way? Yokohama?
  23. I've had my car for about 4 months and the rego will expire in about 2. I want to take the car back to Australia, can I still meet the personal import requirement of keeping the car for at least 1 year if I ship the car way after the rego has expired (like in Nov or Dec this year)? Or do I need to do the shakken? Just feel that doing the shakken thing would be a waste of money since I don't plan on keeping the car in Japan. Want to take it back to Australia for my bro and get another car for myself.
