you only get a fine in all the other states. here you get sent over the pits and they will tell you to fit a cat. if i get stickered i will just refit it. i build my cat replacement pipes to be a straight replacement for the cat so changing them over is a 5 minute job. i dont get any strange smells either although you may get a little discolouration of your rear bar around the muffler. i have a 3 " straight through cannon style muffler , no cat and 3 " straight through front pipe and catback . havnt found another which sounds quite like mine . can replicate the cat back if you like the sound for $800 fitted inc muffler kermit

cooler piping for a r34 ? rough quote of 700 inc silicon and clamps. i have yet to do a skyline and would provide a more accurate quote once i have the car in pieces as i can work out what bends i need etc. will provide pics shortly of cooler piping that i have done kermit

exhaust includes fitting of a cat ( stock or highflow , supplied by car owner) and same with the resonator. All of the jobs i have done so far have only required a single muffler . The sound from my GTR is blood curdling and i have so far had no problem from the police. although there was that one time where they couldnt keep up............ kermit

gimme a look sometime Topaz. sounds simple enough. my GTR is for sale , i always wanted to do the same on that car but spent all my time modding the wifes sil instead.......then she wrote it off kermit intake plenums are a possibility. if this business is successful then i wil purchase an ac/dc Tig so that i can make these as well, although its not quite that simple . im a fabricator not an engineer.

sounds good mate. custom twin is no problem but i would have to check the clearance on the drivers side of the fuel tank to exit out of either side of the rear bar. As soon as i have premises sorted i will let you know but this sounds awesome. at the moment as i am still at home i can only do basic catbacks but i am trying to find a place with a workshop . once i have a place with its own workshop i can do this for you no problem. i am also in talks with a motorsports business about renting out part of their workshop. if i can work from home it takes the pressure off until its sorted out. am definately up for it kermit

Hey guys . Some of you guys may know me although i am generally more active on SILWA . I do not get to cruise much as i work nightshift but this is all about to change. For over a year now i have been fabricating Custom Stainless Exhausts and Cooler piping , mainly on the weekends but also during the week. Basically i got soo busy that the stress of working my own business during the day and then working nightshift and working weekends has destroyed my marriage. I have now decided to make my business a full time business. My business name is KERMIT ENGINEERING ( to be registered shortly) and I am looking for declarations of interest of what i have on offer. My main Product will be Exhaust systems. I will be offering Custom Stainless Mandrel bent Catback Exhausts for $600 to $650 ( customer to provide muffler ). These exhausts are built to sit as high as possible and are installed with custom Stainless hangers. All welding is TIG . $650 is for a 3" system , a 3.5" system may increase the price a little. I will also be offering dump pipe back systems also but will quote these on a one by one basis. Obviously a GTR will be more than a GTST because of the twin front pipe layout. Custom dumps are also in the pipeline , first will be custom widemouth dumps and later on will be split dumps . I also do Cooler piping . So far i have done S13's ( Ca , SR and Rb20 ) and will be offering this when i have the workshop running. All my work is Custom . I am also happy to modify ' China ' or Xforce products as these never seem to fit properly . Thank you for your time. Kermit So what do you think?

i am another with a GTR but not a huge amount of money due to wife and kids. the car was a dream car and i always worry about something breaking BUT i always warm it up before hitting boost and always cool it down. i have dragged it and taken it around barbagalo's raceway and always worry before but my missus says i cannot spend money on track days just to potter about. she says give it death and the car just responds brilliantly. remember its not a normal car , it can handle most things other cars cannot. one day it will blow up and then i will worry about how to pay for it but until then i will enjoy what i have. kermit

i got screwed on a turbo . matey said it was a t28 in perfect condition where in fact it was a t2 that was shagged . had big slagging match with the bloke after we left bad feedback because he wouldnt answer emails. eventually had to get a refund from ebay after proving that turbo was crap and worthless. thanks to HYPERDRIVE for their help. matey on ebay has done a runner.......also threatened to beat me up even though he was in brisbane.......and im in perth. kermit

i kept getting stuck in the slow groups and then ended up on my own trying to catch up with everyone else. that camera must have snapped quite a few on that first main hill , i didnt see the camera but was only just over so should be ok. old lady didnt take my number because i took off real slow but she was definately takin some down. thats what happens when people do burnouts around other people. there is plenty of spots to do it elsewhere. and that evo thought he chopped me ? didnt even know he was racing until he was 2 lengths ahead but still thought he could give the fingers to me. oh well , hope to cross paths again one day. kermit god perth roads are rubbish......

im jealous guys. for the past month or so i have not even been able to put fuel in my gtr and i have had to use my wifes sil instead. i was supposed to be going out to the mines which would have brought my automotive dreams come true but i was let down at the last minute. i am still trying to get out there though so if anyone knows anyone let me know. i am starting a new job this thursday which should see an extra $350 a week in the hand so after a few bill are up to date i can start working on the cars again . kermit

hey guys. i have recently noticed a small patch of vaseline type goo on my garage floor. i didnt think anything of it as i have small children but the patch has got bigger. after some investigation i found it on the underside of my car. it is under one of the main suspension linkages ( in front of the back wheel). are any of the bushes filled with goo ? i have recently also noticed a slight clunk from the rear end and i am assuming that the two are connected. do i have goo in my bush ? any one else with a similar problem? the car in question is a R32 GTR. prices for replacment ? ease of fittment? thanks guys kermit

thats some cool footage mate . after that "unusual "line through the corner i kept braking too early which i felt cost me probably half a second a lap . so nice to hear my wife laughing as i spin off the track. i knew i was in trouble going down the straight as soon as the instructor went " oh shit !" . then went in to a gracefull spin made even better when PSI GTS11 went off at the hairpin half a lap later. not bad times though as i also thought that the STI and XR6 Turbo were being driven by the instructors which make me second fastest and i have never run a car at the track before. instructor also ran my car for a few laps and i beat his time by 1 second. i love my GTR . it took everything and smiled back at me although it was scary seeing how high the oil temp got after 4 laps. i now need rear tyres and brake mods before the next track day. kermit aka mark colborne

i broke the 62 second bracket but couldnt improve as brakes were gone ( maybe they are with my tyres which are also missing). the absolute best time i have ever had.. cant recommend enough!!!!!! easily worth the money. topaz the food was there but you had to grab it. my wife told me this important piece of info just after the last hotdog was taken. wished i had grabbed some too. kermit

my r32 gtr has stainless 3" front pipes and 3" cat and stainless mandrel bent rear section with straight through muffler which i built myself (didnt build muffler obviously). i dont find it noisy and i love the vicous hard edge note when the motor hits boost and i am seriously considering removing the muffler and replacing with straight piping to increase the noise. it doesnt drone at all. kermit

i think to alot of people the r32 gtr is the ultimate car and cannot be improved on the exterior. i also agree and have a stock bodied gun metal gtr which gets me hard everytime i look at it. BUT people must remember that to some people it is a status symbol rather than an enthusiasts car or maybe you buy something just because you can . i hate bogans but i still owned a 96 series 2 clubsport. bought it cos i liked it but still thoughtt that imports were the way to go. oouch bought a car that he liked and then changed things to his own tastes. i reckon more power to him. just because he is not a purist doesnt mean he should be judged as wrong or tasteless. kermit
