we replaced the inlet maifold gaskets and the throttle body gaskets. all surfaces were cleaned and permatec ( gasket goop) was used both sides of the gaskets. removing the restrictor in the boost line is supposed to give 14 psi ( or close to it). which according to my boost gauge i had before the gaskets were changed. kermit

hey guys. i have a R32 GTR which me and a mate recently pulled off the inlet manifold and throttle bodies to change the gaskets as they were all leaking. now even though everything appears to be back in the right place i no longer can achieve 14 psi boost. instead all it is giving me is 9 psi boost which feels soo slow . is there anyone out there who has had a similar problem? i cannot see how ( with the restrictor removed ) i can receive less boost than before when i had leaks everywhere. the car runs so much better now and idles properly but i am left with this problem please help kermit

hey guys. i am building my own stainless exhaust for the R32 GTR and i have bought a new high flow cat as well. what is the sensor thingy that is attached to the factory cat? at first i thought it was the o2 sensor but now i am not so sure. i am sure that i have read about people just disconnecting the sensor without any problems. i asked at a exhaust shop and he was telling me i needed it but wouldnt say what it was for. sounded like he was trying to get me to pay him to do it instead of me doing it myself. so guys , whats it for ? and do i need to keep it? kermit

the plate was a brand new plate. started as 1C** ***. cannot be many of them on mid 90's vitaras living north of the river that are soft top and sporting a massive yellow scrape down the side , can there? sorry i did not mention before. when ever the missus starts thinking about it she gets all mad and i run for cover. things have been stressful lately kermit

the police said there was no camera at that intersection and seeing as no witnesses stopped and we only have a partial plate the police are considering following it up as a waste of time.that is what they said and that is why i hate the police. we have a good description of the car and a brand new partial plate, it wouldnt be hard to find him but obviously too hard for them kermit

sil is now in the workshop getting quoted so hopefully should be back ina couple of weeks. have not heard anything from police yet but i dont really expect to. the wife has been cruising round various panel beaters and phoning insurance companies,. she is really determined to catch this bloke. i just wish she had been driving our kia carnival when it happened. couldve done with a respray on that one... kermit

thanks guys . i appreciate the support. we made a police report today and they seem confident that there should be a camera there so fingers crossed. if caught he is in big trouble for leaving the scene of a accident. i am almost as pissed off with the other people who didnt stop . some even drove around her without a hint of concern after watching what happened. my missus is devastated at the moment , mainly because she was too shocked to chase him. thanks again guys kermit one person driving off is bad , but everyone driving off is totally f**ked.

yes i will be doing things from home. i am getting all the equipment that i think i will need at the moment ( drop saw , drill press etc) and i am pricing up a tig welder also. only thing iam still deciding on is if i want an ac/dc machine or just a dc machine but i do want to get this up and running as soon as possible. i need a creative outlet and my new silvia was supposed to be it. right up until it got smashed...... i will post as soon as i am ready. kermit

the graphics were sort of purple waves, all down the sides. they are quite distinctive but not custom. the large yellow smear down the side should also give it away lol. kermit. will probably phone around insurance companies on monday but not so sure about panel shops, there millions around.

hey guys. i am hoping someone knows someone who owns a white 95 ( we think) suzuki vitara soft top with purple graphics down the side. this bloke ran a red ( had been red for more than 45 secs ) and smashed in to my missus and daughter in our newly bought silvia ( supposed to be my show car ). this young bloke stopped and stared at my missus for a few seconds before speeding off. this happened at the alexander dr/reid hwy junction at about 10:45 pm on saturday night. ever though there were many cars at the lights NO ONE stopped to see if the missus was alright.they all just drove past....... my wife was unable to get the plate no. because of his boot mounted spare tyre but the car is very distinctive ( and now damaged with yellow silvia) . we have only had the car for 4 days. if you know anything please let me know. kermit

my missus moans constantly about me wanting to spend money on the gtr. she loves to drive it though and drives it harder than me ( mainly because she gets away with it when pulled over). she is always on about upgrading the stereo though and since i took it to drag combat she wants her own import to either drag or drift. still moans about me wanting to spend though and because of that i get annoyed with the car needing constant work. so really she is slowly ruining it for me

how about the ford focus turbo? apparently according to top gear the corner speed and grip is by far the best in its class. lapped faster than the golf. also performance packages are available with good horse power gains. kermit

had my garage open for about 5 mins yesterday and went out back to the shed. as i was coming back through the house i heard my car door alarm sensor and then the alarm went off. ran through the house to the garage but other than door being ajar nothing was touched. car was locked and alarmed but window was open so i guess they reached through to unlock the door and were scared off went the alarm went off. the door was only open 5 mins and someone wanted the car, i couldnt beleive it. the other car has the keys left in it all the time , they could have that one, its insured. kermit

the police can not do a thing. even they need proof. unless we say 'go to the galleria and do donuts all night' and give a time and day. then they can do something ie watch us in the process. writing on a forum is not eveidence, its free speech. thats why i hate the police so much. do you think they will knock on my door because i post that installed a 2wd switch on my gtr so i can light them up at will? of course not .but i did do it for that reason..... kermit

i actually like neons if they are on a decent car. like my GTR R32 for instance. the outside is really clean and tough looking and the neons just make it stand out at night. even the neons are understated. a nice blue colour. at the end of the day just be happy. peace brothers kermit

what do you drive? possible to get a front cut and use the bit you want then you can sell the left over parts? possibly end up with a profit. kermit

if there is no sign then you do not have to pay.they must be testing them out instead.when they are satisfied then there will be a media release and then the warning signs will be out in plain veiw" meaning hidden under a bush". kermit

there is no way of proving that it was not cracked before im afraid.besides thats minor stuff. the main gamble with importing is making sure the thing rruns ok. kermit
