Elite plating in smithfield, was $150 for every nut, bolt and washer in the bay and on the engine, also did the bonnet prop and latch and a few brackets
What colour did you do the Bonnet stay?
not sure what to do with mine -

I was running the direct clutch services 1000hp rated twin plate clutch, I thought it was really nice, good pedal feel, not too heavy, a little ‘bitey’ on initial grab, but nothing excessive, got used to it pretty quickly, it held just over 500kw for over a year, when the car was pulled apart had it checked, was told plate wear indicated it had done what they considered’ bed in stage. Lol
it will be going back in the car when it all goes back together.

Also food for thought, you buy billet gears, then a new housing and it ends up costing very close to a new Nitto oil pump.

Engine No. 2 - Nitto Oil Pump
- Oil pressure amazing
- Also have a 5L catch can draining back to sump
- Nitto Head drain/crank case vent installed
- Hope to never talk about oil issues again
On this, with my new setup not sure if I should run a new catch can, currently have a Hi Octane catch can, believe it’s 2.5 - 3 litre capacity, its plumbed back to the sump. This was fine with my old RB30 setup, that motor had very little blow by, not sure how the new 2.7 will be? Shop wants me to fit a bigger catch can.
New motor has the new Nitto billet sine drive oil pump.- 1

Damn they're tasty!! I love the satin kind of finish it comes up as.
Yes, very happy with how it’s turned out, took two goes, first place I took the sump and diff housing to, paid $600 and looked like they just hit it with a rattle can with no prep, started to peel before the sump was put on the motor, really was not happy, complained but got nowhere, Don’t know how some businesses stay in business.

Just as an update, rear subframe has been stripped, gk-tech brace kit welded in, and have a heap of parts getting coated, I’ve decided to go with cerakote for all the parts under the car , all the arms, subframes, diff and sump.
curious on peoples thoughts on this, from what I was shown, appears to be very durable.
still need to strip out the front subframe, but it likes to rain every Sunday!
Got the transfer case done as well, that’s getting rebuilt with new clutch packs.- 2

All these painted engine bays making me realise how stupid I am for not doing it!
Looking awesome mate!
Cheers, slowly getting there, now I got to motivate myself to strip front and rear subframe and get things done

Custom pistons have been ordered and should be 6-8 weeks away, hopefully have an engine before Xmas
8 weeks puts us at December 18, sure you going to get a motor together by Christmas.
think we should both aim to have the cars on the road by Christmas…2022! 😂😂😂 -

I used hi octane coatings and then they were coated using clear ceramic coating to stop them from looking shit again
Ok, do they do Hydro blasting as well?
clear ceramic coating would be nice and should last -

It looks a like so much work and after the bay is painted it all seems worth it, it’s surprising how quick it can go back together (I’m just waiting on the bolts at the electroplater)
I’ve ordered a new subframe bolt kit from terra firma, was expensive but will all be new. I also need to source replacement brake lines, (the lines that come off the callipers, they are all rounded. Might see if I can get something made up local.

Mine has given up on the whining. She knows she’s wasting her time. She also understands that if/when I sell it, it’s a nice little investment!
Yes, mines good with me spending money on it, I’ve explained to her what I’m doing and rough costs, she is ok with that, just doesn’t like the car parts all over the house. I really need a big shed. Something with a hoist and plenty of storage space

PPG Sequential
in Drivetrain and transmission
Posted
Looking at going back to a sequential set up myself for my car, had a PPG sequential in it previously, have done a lot of research and have tried to speak with as many people as I could, messaged a few members on here who run sequential to get their thoughts.
For me it was a hard decision, still tossing up as I have been offered a very good getrag, I want the car to be as ‘street friendly’ as possible so I have ruled straight cut out.
But having owned a sequential, I did fall in love with it, car was unbelievably fun with it, felt horrible going back to a synchro box (stock box). So at this stage, I’m really leaning towards the Holinger.
But for anyone considering sequential I can’t stress enough, take your time, do your research and talk to people who have them before pulling the trigger.
