  1. I will do that as soon as I have the car back in my possession. I miss it already Well, he knows me well enough by now. He knows all issues happened before the drags, as I went to see him and handed him the list personally. The mechanic is fully qualified. I don't know him from a bar of soap. He confirmed these issues 1.5 weeks before the Motorplex Visit.
  2. remember folks *duck and cover* If it turns into a bunfight I may need backup
  3. I got about 5 bottles of this stuff for "evaluation" through a friend....and I can't recommend it enough. It even gets bore water stains out of metal fences! Completely safe on grass/plants/small mammals
  4. Hmmm. I didn't know a compression test was so cheap. If I prove that the engine is faulty can I make the dealer pay for the cost of the test ?
  5. Thanks for the advice Mat, YES, I fully agree with that. If i'd caused damage by going to the plex I would have been more than happy to fix it myself, as I know the consequences of going to such an event. The only damage caused was my ego, when the best time I could pull was 14.86 However a dealer using it as an excuse to get out of a warranty claim is just underhanded.
  6. After speaking to the mechanic he said "You'd have to get the compression test done, and if the motor's blown the dealer will have to wear it" So no, he is not willing to do a compression test.
  7. Okay, I'll be VERY careful with this one. I don't want to tread on any toes. I bought my car a month ago, some of you know where I got it from, most of you don't. Within the first 2 weeks of ownership I discovered the vehicle had a few problems. My main concerns being.... 1. Oil out the BOV 2. Bubbling noise on boost 3. Gearbox 5th Gear Vibration and Synchromesh faulty between 4th-5th. I immediately went to the dealer with a documented list of faulty items with the car. I was then told to bring it to "his mechanic". I called the mechanic, and arranged for the car to be dropped in the following week. I then had an independant mechanic's report outlining the faulty items with the car. I then went to the drags last sunday (as some of you know) The car was then delivered to the mechanic to have the issues on the list addressed and fixed accordingly. After a call to the mechanic, he said he'd fixed the brakes, seat bolts, and the car was off to Barrie's dyno tune to have the speed sensor fixed. He mentioned the other items on the list he was told NOT to fix, as the car "had been down the drags" I then went to see the dealer with a status report on my car and to see what was happening. During conversation he stated the warranty was "Null and void as soon as you take it on the strip mate, and your lucky i'm fixing these few things for you" I said "I don't believe that to be the case" (I researched this BEFORE i went to the drags in case this would happen, and called the ministry of fair trading to double check his warranty obligations, hence the mechanic report prior to the drags) He said he wouldn't discuss this further until the car had left Barrie's dyno tune and then he'd go from there. In the statuatory 3month/5000km warranty it states the items in my list are all covered by warranty obligations. There is a clause in it however that basically says "if the customer misused the car which CAUSED the fault to occur then the warranty does not cover THAT PARTICULAR ITEM" There was no damage caused to my car from doing the 1/4mi. Believe me, if I damaged something I would be more than happy to fix it myself. The dealer's statement that going to the drags voids your warranty appears to be false. And another thing: Both he and I, AND the mechanic KNOW these are the exact same faults listed 2 weeks ago. (The dealer faxed my list to the mechanic when he got it) I don't want to argue with anyone, be it dealer, mechanic or otherwise. I want to settle this quickly, however I feel there will be issues arising to the effect of above. If anyone would like to ask me more (who the dealer was, etc) you may PM me and I will tell you. I do not wish to mention names on a public forum. They may well be reading this. Another thing: You'd think a dealer wouldn't try to wriggle his way out of something like this, I mean, how many people would visit a dealer with a bad rep ? Noone remembers the good, only the bad about a particular dealer. How do you think this sounds guys ? You reckon he'll make it difficult for me ? Thanks for any input guys. -Kym :burnout:
  8. given. dont get me started.. but it is also worthwhile asking again as dealer's change a bit, and they're business could be getting worse... etc. they no longer provide the same level of customer satisfaction e.g. All people remember is the good stuff from way back when. always handy to ask for a fresh review -kym.
  9. sorry guys. i took them down for a sec. back soon.
  10. you mean hicks' CLUTCHout ?? hehehehe battery was dead after 66 pics.. soz guys...
  11. post edited to suit and i'll see what i can do about those "WANTED: Joe" photo's
  12. Oil out the bov: Yeah, but they want ME to pay for a compression test! THEN if it's found faulty they'll replace it under warranty... only trouble is warranty runs out soon (5000kms hey) What do I do ? can i MAKE them pay for a comp test ??
  13. Strich9ine and Pva_Glue and skyzerr33 and OTHERS....proudly present..... A gallery of Joe's collective pictures... thanks mate.. http://hyperwa.com/sau/SDUperth/
  14. Enjoy people... http://www.hyperwa.com/sau/rpwdragwars excuse most of the photography as it was ALL taken by my gf (who just learn how to use zoom!)
  15. Shutup! Showoffs! I searched for 6months trying to find a seriesII with a sunroof!! 6 MONTHS!! DAM YOU PEOPLE! in the end I gave up! and YES, i rejected some VERY nice seriesII's (or just missed out on some, e.g DISCR33T's car) in looking for a sunroof!
  16. you wanna novated lease it right ? hence the reason for a 98 model ? YES, I've seen 2 '98 models so far... SeriesII obviously, and built in 98 98 compliance plate.
  17. shhh... macka will never shutup about it now
  18. What the ? how did you see my car ? where at ??
  19. okay, so i've taken my car back for some warranty repairs.....so i'm now without a car for the next few days (hopefully get it back before the weekend) until then i'm being chauffered around in my gf's little Accent (yes, HYUNDAI! I can't escape!) Just to let you know, i found the following faults. 1. Bubbling noise about 4500rpm while on boost. (skyzer knows what I'm talking about) 2. Gearbox Synchro's between 4th and 5th mash, and there's a drivetrain vibration in 5th gear (gts-t vspec has the same sorta thing) 3. The Brakes are squeaky as shit, and are crap. (they look like new pads, probably misaligned) 4. HICAS reports speed sensor error (thus the RSM doesnt work!) and last but not least OIL out the Blitz BOV.... So the guy I dropped it into said for all the electrical stuff, bubbling noise etc.. it'll goto BARRIES DYNO! (apparently he fixes everyone's f*ck-ups) so this should be VERY interesting. I'll let you know how it goes. -K.
  20. HHAHHAHAHAAHA!! very funny guys! and sorry driftr33, i havent been around mandurah in AGES... otherwise it would have been me. 'cept the seriesII bit... and you cant miss me... (custom plates)

  22. IIRC Adam, you failed at Welshpool right ? East perth is props! They're easy... I've only heard one bad story out of 10 for east perth.
  23. My transition from 4th-5th kicks back horribly... above 130km/h+ tho..and when changing quickly.... ... then all of 5th gear i get that vibration noise.... hence i said before I KNOW my synchro is faulty, as it kicks back when changing... that may be causing the vibration in 5th gear ? It's in for repair, I'm without a car for a few days
  24. hahah, thanks dude's.... I'm thinkin of giving it a rest till after Xmas (let's see what santa brings me!) then I'll try it again! read: bleed valve and POD plus my car's going in for warranty work (read: 5th gear vibration like yours gtst vspec!) so I dont know if it'll be fixed before wed. night we'll see...
  25. Gtst-VSPEC I have the SAME THING..!!! Only I KNOW my 4-5th Synchro is rooted! It kicks back pretty badly. It's going in this afternoon to have it fixed, still got 3mth Stauatory warranty. As mine only does it in 5th Gear, I too assume that it's 5th only... either way they're gonna fix it. I'll let you know how I go with it all. -Kym.
