it happened again (the b@stard) i was in stop start traffic for about 30 mins in 5 dock (nsw) then got on to anzac bridge and it started to rain hard. i exited off to ultimo and 1st was hard to get into (after coming to a complete stop) after a while i found my parking spot to go to work (about 5.30 pm) still raining parked but couldnt reverse to straighten it up, it made huge crunching noises, even though i was at a complete stop, so i left the car parked slightly uneven. Around 9.30 went to pay the meter again at the same time while the car was off i tried to see if it would get into gear while it was off, and it did very smooth and not hard at all. Finished off at 2.45am got into the car and 1st and reverse were hard to get into but it got there, didnt crunch this time round, after a while of driving as i was going home 1st got easier to get into but reverse wasnt as easy but much easier than when i 1st parked the car at 5.30. How can a brand new heavy duty clutch (especially from exedy) not be doing its damn job! Do you reckon its getting too cold too easy or too hot or something. Ive emailed advan about it already so i'll be taking it in when they get back to me, but id like to know how could a brand new clutch do this to me, its heart breaking haha especially when you cant reverse park , lucky i found one that i didnt need to reverse to get into *phewf*

like i said guys if i dont have to get forgies to achieve 300rwkw i wont get them, but just for piece of mind id like to get something stronger than factory ive seen cast items which are 30% stronger than factory ones anyone used these? anyone with any experiece with these gimme some comments ta
-
i forgot to say that it only didnt want to go to 1st and reverse just the one time it happened after taking my car for the 1st spin after i got it back. Also it is just sometimes that its a little bit harder than normal to get into these gears. what could be the problem with the clutch? (its brand new like not even a week old) or did they not install it properly or something? (advan performance)

oopz sorry, its an rb25 all i want from it is around 270 - 300 rwkw, but im in no rush, i also have seen some cast pistons which may well do the job as they are 40% stronger than standard items... (any comments?) oh ive got alot more than 3K ready for it, but like i said id rather do it slowly also i cant do without a car for long, so i was thinking pistons first with a set of gtr rods if i can do that (cryogenically treated to strengthen it) if i do pistons do i have to do the rods too?

at the moment theres stock boost, but im a bit dissapointed with the result as i thought i had a cat back but it turns out to be a stock exhaust with new tip lol *note to self dont ever trust a car dealer* but yeah stock boost and theres no real modifications apart from pfc and cooler, i should be getting a full turbo back sorted out very shortly hoping to hit the 175 - 180 mark with that atm theres too much torque it pulls hard but i havent gone past 4000rpm 1. coz im scared to loose control and 2. coz new clutch

ALSO the air bag light flashes non stop, worried it might pop up and smack me lol

I wanna do "some" internal work to the value of about $3000 (incl labour) if i do forged pistons, do i need to do the rods too or is that not necessary? Is there another option to forgies? I read once in a mag that there was another option which is better on cold start than forgies are. How much would i be looking at for pistons and which brand would be a better option, for just a street car with occasional track outings and sometimes running the 1/4 Any help, advice or websites will be much appreciated. ta

i got no idea where that is lol.... but the power fc says the engines rpm isnt stable but its hovers around the 800 - 860 mark yet the tacho (original not one of them big ones) says its around 1000 rpm.... who to believe

its an exedy super heavy duty clutch which is only 2 days old... could it be because its not broken in yet? ive been babing it all day

OK 100 dramas later (including a steel wheel turbo that we couldnt modify to fit) and a blown clutch ive gotten my car back from advan, with only 160rwkw (which is alot more than stock) have gearbox dramas at the moment, a bit hard to get into 1st and reverse but im sure it just needs an oil change (redline oils perhaps?) but if i need a new box well then shi.t happens, other than that i think the low rwkw is due to me finding out that the exhaust isnt actually a cat back but the tip has just been replaced (damn northshore prestige i asked for a cat back!!) and also the low boost and timing of it all. A few more issues which i will be sorting out soon is a new timing belt and getting the radiator fluid as well as hoses changed, i still havent got the greddy turbo timer installed that will be next on the list as well. I will also be doing internals around tax return time, whether i just put in some forged pistons or should i do the rods as well, if i do the pistons do i have to do the rods too? after i get some advice i'll start buying the parts. any comments or advice is welcome cheers. Shane

ive just finished my turbo conversion previously na, ended up quite alot cheaper than a full engine, but only problem i have now is my gear box seems a bit crunchier than normal and when i try to put it into 1st its very very very hard reverse as well, my engine idle is not normal either its around the 1000rpm mark, could this be the problem? as when the car is off and standing the gears are so easy to get into and out of, i hope i dont need a new gear box :S Any help or advice or tips will be much appreciated
