  1. Just a quick question for those that tune their own safc's - or those that know.... when boosting up the turbo, do you want the mixture leaner or richer? (and why?) trying to get my head around this without much success. thanks....
  2. orange and pink are for karman sensors, have no idea what these are but they replace AFM in some cars
  3. Hamersley, right next to Warwick train station. and yep the webbers needed tuning about every fortnight! loved 'em though...
  4. Thanks. Having come from a twin weber/2L pinto background, i'd be keen to have a go at road tuning before hitting the dyno for a run. turbo's are new to me though, and a steep learning curve. any chance of a colour-coded description, that would be greatly appreciated if you have the time. coz yep my Jap really isn't too flash. erm.... konichiwa? :0
  5. Have acquired one of these babies from Taka's a while ago, but i'll be the first one to say i don't have a f#$%^& clue how to wire it all up. Getting a turbo-back exhaust in a few weeks and it would be nice to have the SAFC hooked up for the imminent dyno tune that will follow. Anyone recommend (PM or otherwise) a good place, or is a gun at doing it themselves? ample beer compensation of course
  6. After finally deciding to go with a pod over a panel filter, i need to know a good place to get one. nothern burbs preferably. anyone know of places that will make up the whole shebang so it just bolts on, or do i have to go buy the filter and then find someone else to make up some tubing for me thanks in advance guys....
  7. yep, i'm 25 with HBF for $1080 on 40% no claims, insured for $25K. they were the cheapest i found after calling close to 20 companies in Perth and over east. next best i think was Famous with a quote around $1600, a guy i work with recently insured (i think!) an R34 with them too. about time some of the "mainsteam" companies got back into imports
  8. Same problem ..... car is well and truly finished, sitting at the workshop for 2 weeks now collecting dust, engineer has signed it off and everything and still no plate for it. maybe Xmas/new year's slows things down. a LOT!?
  9. hey predator, if you could post that wiring info in the next few days that would be a great help... doing an install real soon and don't want to blow too many fuses with the trial and error technique (and yes i'm too cheap to buy one of those little "glows if there's power" gizmos)
  10. cheers RiaZ, will give hbf a call later on and see how i go. maybe will have slightly better luck - will be 26 when the car if fiiiiiiinally registered and i'm sqeaky clean :uh-huh: (well as far as driving record goes anyways!!) thanks for the input guys Beeb
  11. heard rumours of ppl getting prices around a grand that's all.... yep i think under $2K isn't too bad (btw am upgrading from an SX Corolla, insurance a paltry 300!!)
  12. hiya guys... as the proud owner of a freshly imported R33 spec II, am shopping around for quotes and getting a wee bit dissillusioned with the high prices coming back down the phone at me could soem of you PLEASE let me know who you use and approx prices - i'm 25 and clean record - either here or mail [email protected] so far i've heard famous car insurance are quite reasonable, but it's still up around $1600 thanks heaps Beeb
