Funny you guys mention this. I drive an XR6 Turbo and I find that i get more Skylines, 200's, WRX's, 180's etc etc trying to race me then other fords or holdens. Personally, i think i've only ever had 1 or 2 other XR's trying to run me, had a couple holdens but the rest was imports. I guess when you drive one type of car, you notice the other ones more. Anyhow, I do agree with what is being said, you get wankers in both categories. PS, funny how you guys assume that all XR6 T drivers are driving their dads car !! Why not ?? Whats the difference between ford using a 6cyl turbo motor and skylines using 6cyl turbo motor's. Only diff is one is 4 door one is 2, however they are both quick (with a few mods). Doesnt it therefore classify it as a performance cars ?? IE, Master G's XR6 Turbo ran an 11 second pass this wed passed at WSID. Thats some serious performance in my book

Mate, i hate to say it, but your the only one making an ass out of yourself on this forum. If you actually looked through my posts, you would have noticed the small part saying that i own an XR6T. Im running 300+rwkw and i know what needs to be done to the cars to get the power up, and how much power the engines will handle before you find pistons flying out the side of your block. You say we should try talking to you, whats the point. You already stated that you wont disclose what mods you have done to your car. Im more then happy to discuss XR6 T modding options but if your going to make radical claims, you need to back it up with some specs/figures. Needs to be a 2 way convo mate, we cant talk to you if all your doing is throwing various peices of info (which i may add aren't consistant). With all this being said, lets try this from the top. If i may ask, what are you running in terms of computer in your car. Are you running one of the piggy backs (ie, unichip), the edit, or have you gone stand alone? (there you go, im talking to you, not at you.....your turn) PS (just to justify why i question some of the mods/pricing you mentioned etc)- you are absolutely correct, a 4.0l turbo engine, especially one with a GT35/40 can make 400rwkw, however, like i said previously, there is no chance of running that amount of power reliably without rebuilding the engine. Further more, if your running a manual car, you can forget about the manual T5 holding that much power, so your up approx $6200 for a Mal wood T56 (plus your clutch). If its an Auto, again, you need to get the box rebuilt to hold the power, again, thats approx 4K (which from memory includes kevlar bands). Now with all this being said, you would need something to run the power, lets see, edit is approx $1200 from memory, uni chip would be $1650. Id say you would need larger injectors and more then likely a fuel pump. I should add, the prices i am quoting are retail, i understand you own your own performance shop so you get things at trade price, but it all adds up. One more thing, a mate of mine picked up his T from a tuning house in syd 2 weeks ago. The car is going in for its final tune tomorrow and is expect to hit about 360 - 380rwkw. He spent approx 18K including the rebuilt engine and box to achieve this. Comment??Thoughts???

Its been said a couple times and i agree with it, most of the times when excel/lancer etc drivers try to geee you up is not to actually race you, but they want to see how a higher powered car goes. Most skylines out there are modded so they enjoy seeing what they may be able to buy one day. I know i get alot of people trying to gee me up, i dont normally run a car unless i think there is some sort of competition, but every now and again i give it a bit of a squirt and find that these types of people normally give me the thumbs up once ive slowed down.

Im sorry, but to get that much power out of an XR6 you need to spend much more money........to keep it reliable anyway. The engine needs to be rebuilt, there is no way in hell your running so much power on a stock engine.....as for dyno'ing the car in 3rd gear, if it was, get them to do it in 4th then we can have a bit of comparison......things dont add up....like i said, ive got an XR6 Turbo, some people on thie forums have seen in on a couple cruises....i just find that either you have spent a shit load of money on your car and your not telling us what you've done, or your talking things up......either way, why not come clean and just list everything......its not as if we are hanging to steal your secrets, everybody is trying to peice together the bits and peices that spitting out!

Do you know this, or are you just quoting the crap you hear on the XR6Turbo forums ?? Personally i have no driveability nor idle quality issues with my unichip on my XR6 !!!

To be honest dude, i havent even been to NT let alone driven on the road. 280 is acheivabe, but 340 - 350 out of an XR6 Turbo. Lets say that at 240 im almost our of revs, not out, but getting there. Unless the rev limit has been increased which means the car would have been edited then i cant see this happening. Lets not miss the point here. I am not saying that these speeds arnt possible, im just saying that i dont see it happening with an XR6 Turbo....It would have to be modified to the shit house to get to these speeds. Furthermore, the tiptronics start slugging off a touch past 200 clicks (due to gearing), so id assume it would be a manual car. This brings up other issues on its own, but id rather not get into that because its getting off topic.

Yeah agree with your post, ive got both in my garage both a modded XR6 Turbo and a Stock 350Z Track (twin turbo would be nice ), and i can say (WITH experiance) that there is no chance in hell that my Ford will keep up to the Nissan around corners, and anybody who argues this has no idea. The only way the Ford will out do the 350 is if it has had heavy modifications done to the suspension setup, and even then, the 350 is just brilliant around corners, i really dont think the ford can catch the 350 on a track. As for 330 - 340 km, im sorry to say, but thats just outright bullshit. Like i mentioned, APS managed 307km/h. Bottom line is, even at 240 (which is speed cut on the ford) the brakes barely pull up, so larger brakes are needed. At 340 km/h, you would need a 1/4mile strip just to stop. I really dont see that happening. Not only that, how long would the road need to be to get to 330 - 340 km. I know on the track, 1/4 mile i did 115mph, so at a guess, id say you need approx 750m to acheive the speed, and god know how much to stop. Ford has gone the right way with the BA, the cars look good and if the right things are done, they look/sound/perform tough. However, some people have to realise that their fords arnt king of the road. This sort of attitude will only put shit on ford drivers (just like holden drivers get because of their ignorance). A modded XR6 T will beat alot on the street, however an R32 with engine rebuild, twin TD05's, cooler, exhaust and ECU, running at about 1.1bar will out run a 300Kw XR6 Turbo !!!

Just a quick side note, not sure if you guys recal but i think it was wheels mag (possibly motor) that clocked an APS modded XR6 Turbo doing 307km/h (307 from memory, to be safe lets say 300+). Falcon XR6T, out of curiosity, your sig states Last Dyno Run: 339kW, 1242.1Nm. Isnt 1242Nm a bit high. My XR6 Turbo has 303rwkw and only 790Nm. I dont see how your managing to pull so much torque. Also, if you dont mind, what sort of mods are you running on your car? If your engine bay is whats in your avatar then i know its not an APS phase 3, as your intake manifold is std and your airbox is still there. Phase 2, even with a Phase 3 cooler can get you that much power, however you would have had to rebuild the engine to keep that power reliable, as the std pistons/rods etc wont handle that much power and your bound to blow a motor. Why do i ask you all this ?? End of the day, my Ford is fast, but mate, 4WD GTR will munch us off the mark. Sure we may catch it top end if it hasnt got much work done, but how many people do you know of that will run you to 180 - 200 clicks ??? Furthermore, put somebody in a GTR on the track that knows how to drive the thing, and as much as i hate to say it, we would have NO chance in keeping up to them around the corners. Maybe the straights, but we would get left behind around those twisties. Dont get me wrong, i love my ford, and personally, i would never sell it for a GTR (mainly due to the fact that im going from new to old) however we still need to give credit where credit is due and these beasts (GTR's) can be dam quick. As for the rest of you guys, I know this is a skyline forum and i do love my nissans (half the time im driving a 350Z, cant get enough of it), however again, give credit where credit is due. End of the day, an XR6 Turbo thats had an engine rebuild, APS phase 3 kit, Valve springs, modified Auto and a stally, along with some semi's will give alot of GTR's out there a scare in a straight line. On the track its a diff story, being a heavy car and all, but you guys have to admit that this car does have potential. Anyway, my 10 cents worth. *Puts flaming suit on*

Guys, seriously, this topic is getting old. End of the day, you are comparing 2 cars from totally different categories. 2 door sports VS 4 door sports sedan. To make it worse, some of you are even throwing in GTR's into the equations, 100K + cars compared to 50K. Ive always been a skyline fan, but seriously, some of you guys act as if the skyline is the only performance car on the market.....lets get realistic. Both cars have their advantages and disadvantages for that matter, but end of the day, bother are awsome cars (oh, and i would trade my ford in for a R34 GTR any day.....just to set the record straight lol) Mick34, If i was a betting man, id almost take you up on your bet. Obviously you havent been in, or raced against a modded XR6 Turbo. They can be very quick if the right mods are done, dont underestimate them.

They are good untill you run into trouble with them, then you will find yourself paying an arm and a leg to get the Ba5tard repaired. Labour on that car is a B1tch. As for the question, Sorry guys, but a relatively std VT should beat a relatively stock GTS....especially if the VT is a V8 (SS or something like that). No biased opinion here either, i cant stand comonwhores but whats fair is fair. Liner32, i would probs go a n/a Supra myself....and to answer your question, i used to own a EF XR8 ...... it chopped my sisters VT Aclaim, however, my mates N/A supra chopped my XR8. Awsome cruise, i think ill have to come out with you guys/gals more often....Talk about a couple incidents, have no idea when every body broke off the old pack, i was at the front with 3 Skylines and we drove past the coppers whilst they where parked. Next thing i knew we where all alone.....turned back to find everybody (LOL thanks to all you Skyline blokes for sending the Ford out as a scout LOL) but only managed to pick up 2 other lines. Continued down to wisemans on Mona's directions, and have no idea how i got into leading the pack, but THANKS MONA, for sending us to the WRONG side of wisemans LOL.....ill let you off though cause you caught us a ferry Nice to meet some of you guys, put faces to nicks, and ill be sure to see you all on the next cruise. Oh PS....the copper in the 4x4, he pulled over a 32 (from memory) and myself for "Stopping in the middle of the road". I heard him telling off the guy in the line, came up to my window and goes to me; Copper "What the hell are you doing?" Me "Dont know the area, im following the guys infront of me" Copper "Why did you stop in the middle of the road for?" Me "I didnt, i was pulling over" Copper "YOU STOPPED!!" Me "Mate, the guy infront of me stopped, what do you want me to do?" At this stage the cop walked off shaking his head and cursing.....Honestly, i dont know what his problem was, personally, i didnt do anything wrong all night to get attitude from cops. I think its that kind of behaviour that gives police a bad name....just like the few that did burnouts at the end of the night give the rest of us the title Hoon's !!!! Apparantly the cop almost hit the 32 (i think it was) behind me.....from what i was told, so yeah !!
