  1. Is there any bracket or fitting difference between the GTST and GTR? Or will an alternator advertised for an r33 fit my GTST regardless?
  2. I need a new alternator. From my research, the r33 GTST had either a 80A or a 90A depending on the series. I have no idea which one my car has, can I generally be safe with a 90A alternator replacement without any concerns? So long as it's still a 12V. Thank you
  3. '96 r33 Skyline Car didn't have a catalytic converter (when I bought it) and I failed an emissions test. Got an new one easy enough, but what is the flow direction? I.e. which side needs to face the front/back of the car? The spigot is for a temp sensor, which I will be plugging up. Is there any issue with this? Thank you
  4. So, some exciting updates. 1.) EBC has been super helpful and is exchanging my rotors for properly sized ones 2.) On the way to work today, my brakes seized up and would not to fully unclamp from my rotors, causing them to become red hot. 3.) I took it to my mechanic and he thinks my ABS might have gone bad, among a number of other things. So I decide to nuke this problem and am having him completely rebuild my brakes with a new master cylinder, ABS block and caliper pistons. And just because I'm officially sick of dealing with these brakes, I'm going to have him put the new rotors and pads and and bleed it the damn thing for me, lol. For the price he offered and the quality of work he does, I can't complain. I really appreciate everyone's information and help, thank you. I learned a lot through this little adventure!
  5. Ok, so several updates I remeasured both the front and rear rotors: Front: 355mm x 32mm Rear 350mm x 20mm Which reflects the 370Z exactly. Next, as requested, pictures: FRONT BRAKES: REAR BRAKES:
  6. Should have time tomorrow to lift her up and take photos of everything. Would different calipers require different discs? I know for certain I have Brembos on the r33 GTS-T.
  7. Was on the phone with EBC and looks like the Nissan 370Z has 355mm fronts and 350mm rears. And is compatible with the r33.This MIGHT be it, and I'm going to re-measure my rears and see if this solves the problem.
  8. I called EBC and they didnt think they had anything but they might have been trying to match the car, not the combination situation I have. I didn't think of trying to go in person. That might be the optimal solution.
  9. Hello all, Me again with more brake questions, lol. I have a r33 GTS-T. The calipers are GT-R Brembos, but the previous owner put oversized rotors on (14in/355mm front and 13.5in/343mm rear). I'm not sure where he sourced these rotors, but I have been unable to find replacements of the same size. The EBC rotors I purchased designed to fit the r33 GT-R are 12.8in/324mm front and 11.8/300mm. They also sold GTS-T rotors which are 11.6in/296mm front and 11.5in/295mm rear. I'm not really sure how to approach this. Right now. My Brembo calipers are too far away from center to use my purchased rotors. Can I remove the Brembo mounting bracket adapter and bolt the calipers directly onto OEM mount? Can I purchase new mounting bracket adapters to fit my smaller rotors? Or do I just need to source larger rotors? I appreciate any advice. Thank you.
  10. I think this might have been it. I ended up letting the car sit for two days with the denatured alcohol (hobby shop was closed for Easter) and when I went back on Tuesday and tried again, everything bled without a problem. Best guess I have is that was some sort of blockage and the alcohol broke it down.
  11. Hello all, Need some major help, doing a ton of research this weekend, and hoping someone can help me. Situation: Today I was flushing my brakes with denatured alcohol to remove Silicone DOT 5 with intent to replace it with Glycol DOT 4. I was using a pressure bleeder to one-man bleed. I have GT-R Brembo brakes with the two bleeder valves on top. The bleed started off well. I bled both the rear calipers without much trouble and pushed out the old brake fluid until only alcohol was coming out. However, when I went to bleed my front-passenger caliper, I got nothing, no fluid. To make matter worse, my pressure bleeder just stopped working and would not hold pressure. I borrowed a compressed air vacuum bleeder from the shop and tried that, but sttill nothing. My passenger-front caliper will not bleed. no fluid, nothing. I tried with the vacuum bleeder, and only managed to extract the fluid that was in the caliper. After that, nothing. I tried with the two-person bleed method, still nothing. The other three calipers will bleed, but this one will not. Additionally, there appears to be no pressure building up in the brake pedal. Even when starting the car. We can get a small amount of pressure, but not very much. Any advice? And thoughts? Any experience? I'm going through forum posts and YouTube videos. Im at a dead-end right now. Could it be air trapped in the ABS? Could it be a problem with the master cylinder? Thank you in advance.
  12. New rotors and pads have arrived! Just bought a bleeding pressure system, some denatured alcohol, some cheap DOT 4 to flush and some high quality DOT 4 for the final fill. Got a 4-day weekend this weekend and access to a lift. This thread took me from being extremely nervous and willing to pay someone to do this for me to feeling confident in doing this correctly myself. Thank you everyone for the advice and information!
  13. UPDATE: Did some googling and turns out these pressure kits with (mostly) universal caps are easy enough to find online. This looks like a simple enough process, just need patience and to take my time to do it right. In the long run, I'd rather have DOT 4 in here than DOT 5, I think.
