  1. i just got my major service at ultra-tune, taringa, and when i picked it up they openly admitted that they knew very little about the rb25 engine. I then hopped into to the car and started it and it was idleing at 500rpm then 100rpm and then 500rpm and so on. I then took the car for a drive and boost was maxing at around 1psi and under full throttle the car would splutter and i would lose all power. i took it back to them and they were clueless. they tried to tell me that it was because the ecu had reset itself when the battery was disconnected and the probelm would sort itself out in a couple of days. i called up 4doorz and we looked at the engine and the d**kheads haden't hooked up the lines to the carbon canister. we put them back on and the car is now running sweet. I would recommend that people take their skylines to places that genuinely know skylines and have the proper knowledge. I will definately be taking my car to Gavin Wood from know on as he seems to know his stuff, unlike other places around Brisbane that "reckon" they can do it.
  2. steve, those tyres were "bottom of the line" nankang 205/55/16's and they had been sitting in my garage for closer to two years. I couldn't believe how hard they had actually got, cause you did 3 pretty long burnouts and they didn't wear that much, although your last burnout went for ages. i've got the footage of all your runs so drop round a video later in the week so i can make you a copy.
  3. I just recently installed a heavy duty ceramic clutch along with a new flywheel and pressure plate, and was wondering how exactly are you meant to get a good launch with a clutch like this. I took it to the drags last night and all i could manage from my car was a 14.6 at 96.9mph while when the car was stock i got a 14.4 at 97.11mph. i was launching the car at 3 grand and it just sat there spinning the tyres. Any ideas?????
  4. congratulations to Steve for kicking my ass twice in a row, next time i'm bringing the old man's M3 out to teach you a lesson.
  5. I managed to get a best of 14.627 at 96.69mph for the night, although when my car was stock i ran a personal best of 14.483 at 97.11mph. The funny thing was that for my best run last night i turned the boost down to 5 psi from 10 psi and ran 0.2 of a second faster. My new clutch seems to be the main problem (single plate ceramic with new flywheel and pressure plate). It was the first time i had raced with it and even when i dropped the clutch at 3 grand my car just sat at the line spinning the tyres. I've tried slipping it off the line but that doesn't work either. Oh well, looks like i'll be needing to invest in some slicks.
  6. - 3.5 inch jasma cat-back exhaust - custom dump pipe - hi-flow cat - trust oil cooler - blitz pod filter - pirelli p7000 tyres (235's) - home made bleeder valve (from a sprinkler system) - gtr front bar
  7. [TI-3VOM] backwards it spells "MOVE IT", would scare cars looking at you in there rear-vision mirror
  8. i was there with a beanbag in the back of a forester gt turbo. Great drifting MR>E u were making more smoke than alot of the cars out there. got lots of good footage but unfortunately can't upload them to computer.
  9. i'll definetly be there and will bring my video camera
  10. i don't think a genuine gtr spoiler will fit a gts-t so better to go for a copy
  11. coming down tambourine mt with my windscreen totally fogged up was pretty bloody scary, cause i kept misjudging those hairpins corners, but it was good to get my car out there and really test it's handling limits
  12. was a good night overall. on the way back to the city from mudgerabah was an experience, with hundreds of cars racing on the M1 and every second one coming alongside me and trying to race. sorry to the r31 and the r32 gtr that ended up following me the wrong way twice, next time i'd better read the directions
  13. i'm still keen, last cruise i went on only had about 6 cars but was still fun
