  1. I've just had to pull out. When I told the other half she hit the roof because next Saturday is her Dads birthday and we are going... fffarkk... Looks like its haunted hills or bust !
  2. booked and paid. c u there !!
  3. wouldn't touch an extreme with a 10 foot pole. Mine exploded. Lucky it didn't smash its way out of the casings. Nismo super copper mix twin plate is the best I've ever used
  4. Snowy and Brisby in Spa and the Nurburgring travelling by Autobarns. That's going to be too much fun !!! You should buy a GTR in England and then get Brisby to sell it when you are finished. The money you'd lose for a quick turn around would be heaps less than car rentals. Do IT !!!!!! Do IT !!!!
  5. Lucky lucky lucky !!! Which car you going for? or are you doing the deal with Anthony Moss. If you had the money and the time, as expensive as the Mossy thing sounds, its bloody good value...
  6. Maybe not. V8 Supercar average speed on the Island 177 kph Record breaking lap of Nordschleife in the R35 GTR 167 kph Taxi 1, super computer 0
  7. Here's my second lap. The sounds has been improved.
  8. I hope that 34 is a 1.34 and not a white one with a black bonnet ...
  9. Thats the one. I don't know the cover so I am not sure if that is it (Dane) Started pissing on the last three corners. Which are some of the fastest on the track. He also rolled over the line and was held up my bikes a few times. I reckon he could have pushed it into a sub 8.00 lap. Shows how fast the new one must be to pull a mid 7min lap of the full track... There is 16-18 seconds in the straight from the G to B We have to expect Snowman to pull a high 1min 20 somthing at Winton with that kind of performance...
  10. too right Snowman. Your advice with taking the DSG was gold. You have to watch the kerbs on the right side because some of the speeds you could hit them at would probably roll the car. I dragged out a DVD I haven't watched for years. Its a GTR DVD made in the UK around 2003 and it has a Mines tuned black R34 owned by an Asian dude from England in the hands of a ring master with 10,000 laps. The guy is also one of the Nissan testers that lapped the ring over and over again during the development of the 32, 33 and 34. He breezed in a 8.29 without pushing. He had major traffic in some places as well. The GTR was regularly pulling 280 kph. A quick car would be a totally different experience and one where you would have to be soooo much more careful.. Happy to copy for anyone if the haven't seen it. Re-inspired me to love the 34 some more...
  11. You must think I'm Marcov I think a 33 is the target. What about yourself ???
  12. I think this will be my only one for the year. I'm in..
  13. Price dropped. Check out link to carsales advertisement. The motor is barely run in and cost nearly 30K... then there is the rest of the car $$$$. I also have the standard stuff with the exception of the brakes and shocks...
  14. thanks folks. Adz is going later in the year and he's likely to raise the bar again. I have to workout how much excess baggage I will have to pay to take the R34 over there. The black Porsche that blew past me would be getting blown past by me instead. Man its good. The average speed for that time is around 140 kph, which would give you a lap of the Island at around 1min 55seconds. The Island will never be the same again. Think the GTR has to go to find a cheap car to do Targa... No silver spoon to feed from
  15. Go for the Golf (I think the Scirocco is better, need to slow Adam down) Wait until you experience the way the car dances over the crests as the wheels just leave the ground and the extreme G Forces in the bottom of the valleys. Its more fun than doing sub 1.45min laps at the Island on a bike or in the GTR... And that is in a car much slower than both of those...
  16. Our good buddy Theo would sort us out. That would be a blast. You could count me in for that. I better go out and get a job....
  17. The fun factor is obscene. I was going to go the day before and had it totally rained and fogged out. I had to write off my flights and buy new ones. I wasn't going all that way and missing out. The Scirocco is the same running gear as the Golf GTi. It has the DSG setup. I simply left it in S mode and let the gearbox take care of changing. Every time I tried the wipers turned on. I'm hanging out to go back... I couldn't recommend it more highly to anyone. FYI, to get there cheap, use www.kayak.com to find the flights.
  18. Those EVO S1s are remarkable. I just drove on those at the Nurburgring. On a 95% dry track they were incredible. The owner of the rental car, Theo is some sort of super nutter. He took me for a drive in the rain (pissing) and the entry speed and corner speed in the rain on those tyres completely blew my mind. I'm gettting those next for the GTR...
  19. Well, for those of us that haven't done Targa Tasmania anyway I rented a VW Scirocco. Nice little car. 2 litre turbo. You basically hold it flat everywhere except from the brake and corner entry. Other than that, pin it. Sorry about the audio quality. I have a Go Pro Hero 5MP wide and set the sounds on Hi. Needs to be on Low. Bugger. Also the batteries ran out around 5 corners from the end. Pox. My 1st lap was 9min flat, second was an 8.43, third was this one, 8.36.6 and the last was an 8.41 I reckon with another 10 laps, there would be 8.20 something in it. Plenty of spots to make up time. I highly recommend the XBOX360 PGR4 for practice. I also went last year and did 8 laps with a best time of 8.52. That time I went from the airport to the track and had been awake nearly the whole 24 hours on the plane. I was out of it.
  20. my experience is the TTs are remarkable. possibly cheaper than the AO50s. FYI, Bridgestone in Maribyrnong have a fair few sets of 55s in stock
  21. incorrect. they last plenty due to the grip. the SRs slide and cold tear..
  22. I don't know why you guys don't try the RE55TT tyres. They a designed for this kind of thing. They last just as long because they don't cold tear and the grip is fantastic...
  23. consider doing a kick ass deal and I'll take them. Just to tease Matt GTTR34 with..
  24. happy to discuss possible trades. FYI, almost everything on this car is new. It has had mega bucks spent on it and then it was put in the garage. It isn't a worn out legend, its basically a brand new car in every way except the car itself was built in 1999.
  25. still got the TTs in the garage taking up space... heres the Mag article
