    Shock absorbers

I replaced my own ones, its pretty easy, all you need is a jack, a few spanners and sockets and a few hours. I tried HKS coil overs on mine but they were way too hard for my liking. I ended up getting new standard shocks. Regardless of what type of shock you get I would fit them yourself if you can as it takes a bit of time and most places charge a lot for labour. You could spend that money on getting better shocks or other mods if you do the work yourself. This was the first time I ever changed shocks on a car so it can't be that hard
  2. yeh I actually quit to go back and study full time, just can't quite stretch the money far enough to keep the car, its a shame as it is really nice, especially with pretty much all the mods done. Haven't even turned the boost up yet as I was going to get it set when I got the SAFC fitted and tuned. I would rather sell the SAFC with the car at the moment. How's the 32 going?
  3. Well due to the fact that I am no longer working I cannot really afford to keep the car insured and on the road so it is up for sale. Will consider trades. 1995 R33 GTST Silver 45000klms dual airbag 5sp Manual Nismo dash with white backed gauges Nismo leather gear knob Apexi SAFC (not fitted, supplied in original box with manuals etc, never got round to fitting it and tuning it all up) Apexi front mount intercooler Turbosmart dual stage gated boost control with illuminated in cabin switch Apexi N1 cat back exhaust (the hot dog style muffler comes out on an angle, not too loud) Original exhaust also supplied Speco Boost Gauge Has 5 piece genuine Skyline floor mats with metal plate Has light up rear "skyline" logo 17" CSA mags with 235 front and 255 rear tyres heaps of tread $22000 ono in Brisbane Also have some really good stereo gear, and custom mountings etc that I had made for the skyline which I would throw in at the right price. Orion XTRPRO10D 10" subwoofer, in custom sealed enclosure mounted under parcel shelf, trim panel and mounting boards for amplifiers to go in the boot (could be adapted to suit any amps). Will consider a small cheap car as trade and maybe even an NA 180SX or Silvia. I will have some pics up on the weekend. If interested you can email me at [email protected] edit: Forgot, it also has an expensive alarm and immobiliser. edit2: Had new EBC greenstuff brake pads fitted recently and new NGK iridium spark plugs. edit3: Also has GFB Hybrid blow off valve and has ABS Brakes (original blow off valve also supplied as I still have it) Keep thinking of things that I left off the first post. I spent too much money on this car!!
  4. You're mad I guess the skyline is more practical though..
  5. No it's not a cane it everywhere ride, everyone can ride at their own pace and there are designated points where we will wait for everyone to catch up so you don't have to worry about getting lost of left behind. On the other hand those who want to cane it everywhere are most welcome to go at the front of the group and do so Like I said anyone who wants to come is welcome, as long as they bring and friendly, casual attitude and bike of some sort!
  6. I will take pics and post em up. Get a bike They are awesome.
  7. Details here, it will be a good group of people with similar interests, probably between 8 and 12 people on the day and is being organised by myself and a friend for Sunday the 4th of August. Details here: http://forums.skylinesaustralia.com/showth...=&threadid=1873 Zer0
  8. Well this isn't actually a skyline event but I know a few people on here like myself have bikes so here are the details for any one who wants to come along. A friend and I are organising a bit of a Sunday cruise for anyone in Brisbane who is interested at the moment we have around 8 bikes confirmed but who knows what will happen on the day. People are welcome on any kind or size of bike and with any level of riding skill, we already have people on everything from NSR150's to TL1000R's You can ride as fast or as slow as you wish, it can be a leisurely cruise or a bit of trash as there is ample opportunity for everything with plenty of nice straights, high speed sweepers and some tight twisities. There are designated points where the faster people will wait for everyone else to catch up along the way so that it is fun for all. When? - 8am for 8:30am departure on Sunday the 4th of August Where? - Meeting in the carpark out the front of Coles at Kenmore on Moggill Road in Kenmore. There is a roundabout right in front of the entrance and we will be clearly visible from the road. Maps and directions will be handed out on the day which will included nominated fuel stops and points for waiting for everyone to catch up. If we get off on time then we should be back into Brisbane around 12-1pm. Hope to see some of you there, If you want to come along and want some more details or want to know who I am so you can find me on the day email me at [email protected] Zer0
  9. I would have thought it would be less than that. My friend bought a 90 model 4 Cyl camry sedan for $3k for the whole car! It has 200k klms on the clock and still going strong.
  10. What exactly is it? As we all know all turbo R33 skylines are M-Spec, so do you have some pics or something?
  11. Yeh I didn't have time to read it all at work Thought I would just say that she should be at fault as long as you weren't speeding
  12. 3 of us were riding down to the bike shops on saturday actually when a hotted up WRX pulled up at the lights with two of us in one lane on his right and 1 of us on his left, he gave it a rev and we got ready to go. Light changed and you had a TLR, GSXR750 and R6 all front wheel up blasting into the distance Never bothered dragging a car on the bike before and probably won't bother again for a while.
  13. engine number on R33 is a pain in the butt. Get a torch, when standing in front of the car looking into the engine bay it is on the right hand side, right at the back near the firewall, close to the back of the heatshield the turbo sits under. I had to find it at the RTA up here when I first got it registered as the bird from the RTA had no idea. So you finally sold the commodore and jumped on the Skyline bandwagon?
  14. Hate to be the one to say it, but that will teach you to speed in a built up area around shops. Doing 70 in that kind of evironment is asking for an accident, especially in a new car that you are not that familiar with. All that said though, as long as you don't get done for speeding she would be at fault as she has " pulled into the path of oncoming traffic" which is a big no-no.
  15. I'm interested, how about $90 plus postage to Brisbane?
  16. How much do you want for it? I have the standard small R33 wing in silver. I could trade you with an adjustment if you want? I can organise all of the freight for free through work as well. Send me an email at [email protected] if you're interested. Let me know what kind of cash adjustment you would want? Zer0

    SAU Qld

I'll join, but don't really have time to do much else at the moment as work and study seem to be taking over my life.

    Workshop List...

Yes but have any of you actually had them do any work on your cars? I think places that you have actually had first hand experience with are more relevant to this thread than reports that "these guys are ok cause I heard it from my mate whoe heard it from a friend of a friend who read it on the net somwhere". Nothing against Subzero at all, they could be the bee's knees but how about a comment from people who have actually had work done? What you had done, what the cost was like, what the service was like, what the quality of work was like.
  19. Should go to RTA and say you have no idea what to fix as you took it to a mechanic as well as checking with the place you bought the car from and none of them know what a "remote turbo whistle" is.
  20. As the title says, new or used, cheaper the better, in Brisbane if possible.
  21. I use NGK iridiums gapped to .8mm with 6 heatrange and they run really well. Cost about $18 each from autobahn. Haven't had any problems at all. I run a front mount intercooler, exhaust and boost upped to 10PSI if that helps.

    Your Car

I bought it through the trading post, I live in Brisbane and I generally get it serviced at Drive Car in Albion.
