  1. You don't wanna work where I work, trust me :uh-huh:
  2. I have two bikes, a GSXR750 and a Ducati 748. I love them. If you want a thrill or a quick thrash then there is nothing better than a bike. They are also cheaper to run and cheaper and easier to maintain. I really like the R33 and with a few mods it goes ok but you get much more of a rush on a bike. I would recommend that if you want a sporty bike get a CBR250, ZXR250 or similar. Check out http://www.importmc.com.au for pictures and specs of the different models. They are also in Brisbane at Slacks Creek. You would be more than welcome to come riding with us if you do decide to buy a bike. We usually go for a blast once a week or once a fortnight depending on whats on.

    Shit-box car

Got a pic of it? I am coming down to Sydney next weekend with a friend to pick up a motorbike but am also looking for a cheapo 2nd car.
  4. Springs are easy to fit. Just make sure that you have some spring compressors (pretty cheap at kmart, supercheap etc) or someone really strong to compress the spring for you http://www.horsepowerinabox.com have king springs for R33 at a pretty good price and a wheel alignment from Pedders or somewhere afterwards would be cheap. Install the springs yourself and save some money. Should take you around 1-2 hours tops to change all four springs.
  5. I'll be working all day on the 6th. Have a big install going on for work, will be out of there by 8ish though. Will definately come down to Roma st around 9 pm and have a chat with everyone and catch up as it is on my way home anyway.
  6. I lived there for 10 years. Am thinking of driving the R33 up later in the year. Will have to make sure that I catch up with you. You can get optimax in Darwin can't you? I imagine you wouldn't have a lot of luck at the stops on the way up though
  7. Ok was going to run my cold air intake through one of the stock intercooler holes when I got my front mount cooler but the pipes for the one that I got still go down through the standard intercooler holes. So.... What is the best way to get a good cold air feed? Can another hole be cut near where the intercooler piping goes? Is there another way to get the air in there? What has everyone else done on their cars? Thanks Zer0
  8. Yes I am fully aware of that. It is due to be rectified next pay with 3" turbo back and high flow cat.:uh-huh:
  9. I have the Apexi N1 cat back exhaust on my car and it is not too bad. Seemed quite loud at first after driving a car with a stock muffler for so long, but after a day I was loving it. Only thing I have noticed is that there is a bit of a drone around 2200-2800RPM but the exhaust place said they could get this out with a different resonator. If you buy a new one then it should come with the little silencer insert which drops the noise a bit more. I bought mine second hand for $600 so your price for a new one is pretty good.
  10. I'd need to know date & cost. As long as I don't have anything else on and the cost isn't ridiculous I WILL be there. Want to see how my car goes with new mods.
  11. Does look nice indeed. Would go well with a nice EL series boost gauge or something. Personally though I prefer the Nismo white backed gauges. They look really rice with the Nismo logo glowing in flourescent green on them
  12. Botany RTA really suck. I used to work in the business park across the road and so usually ended up going there. I swear everything I EVER tried to do they turned into a complete nightmare. Due to their lies and imcompetence it took me almost 3 months to register a motorcycle
  13. I usually run either BP Ultimate or Optimax in my both of my bikes as do most of my friends and none of us have ever really had any problems with either nor noticed any difference between them. I ran my R32 on Optimax all the time as there was a Shell servo just round the corner from my house in Sydney Always ran really well. Since I have had my R33 I have been running it on BP Ultimate always and have found it to run a bit rough and kind of stutter a bit around 8-9 PSI. Filled it up with Optimax on Saturday and now it is silky smooth and runs perfectly at 11 PSI. Whacky but there you go.
  14. Roma street would be good. I could quite happily rock up there once a week. Broadwater has too many people and too high a police pressence around. Somewhere new would be good for all from this board & SDU to meet.
  15. The boots on the 4 door and 2 door skylines, at least on R33's, are completely different. We were pondering this the other day and had a closer look. Main difference is in the boot lip itself. The 2 door boot lid comes down between the rear lights. The 4 door boot lid is straight all the way across and does not go down between the rear lights.

Name: Gaven Age: 22 Location: Brisbane Car: Silver R33 1995 model. I have recently become quite proficient at changing and setting up suspension on R33's Usually pretty busy with work and stuff and not really into the really fast runs (I leave them for the track and the bike).
  17. PowerFC is not going to cool the air coming into your engine. I am not sure how you see it as a substitute for a good intercooler?
  18. Good quality tools are definately a must. I had a cheap socket set and it actually snapped when I was trying to take the standard BOV off to install my new one Went round to my parents place and used my Dads tools and was all done quick smart as he has everything under the sun as he used to do up cars for a living many years ago. And in regards to doing things yourself, always keep it in mind. I just blew $250 in labour costs for fitting and setup of coil over shocks. It was so poorly done that I took the car apart, pulled them out reset them and remounted them myself. Took a few hours but at the end I had a perfect result and could have saved $250, or bought a whole lot of beer I have never been particularly handy with cars but since I have had my skyline I have changed my own brake pads, changed my own shock absorbers (several times, don't ask!), installed an aftermarket BOV, plumbed in, mounted and connected a boost gauge, installed a boost controller and removed the factory boost solenoid and cleaned up a lot of loose and poor quality wiring in the car. It gets easier the more you fiddle with things and it does save you a lot of money as I was quoted $50 to install the boost gauge, similar for the boost controller and a lot more the shocks which I should have saved too!! It all adds up!
