  1. We might as well just combine ours up 33NIZ We'll collect as many brisbane skylines as we can, head down to BWCP, and then tag along and see what you have in store
  2. Firefrog

    what the???

I only just got my Skyline, and unless I win some money, the bank will see me staying in it for, oh say the next 7 yrs R34 is so much more lush, and such a nicer ride then anything I've had previously, I'm certainly not complaining
  3. Haha, fancy seeing you here. You gonna bring your sedan out on sat?!
  4. We might indeed tag along with you mate, should be good for some fun Also, OMG GT4... I need to buy a playstation next payday!!
  5. Cool, you guys should be at BWCP about the same time we are, so we can at least hang out for a little bit until you bugger off
  6. Ok guys, I've updated the original post with more details
  7. Ok question, I've always wondered, if it pronounced stay-gee-ah, or stag-ee-ah? Or something else entirely? Eitherway, very nice cars! Saw one which had twin sunroofs once, phwoar, I was impressed.
  8. Yeah my mates were on that cruise with the choy 34, I was working so I missed it It looks very similar to mine, but a newer model, and with spoiler
  9. Anyones welcome, I'd just really like to see more of the R34s that are getting around
  10. Yeah, I figured that was about right, I'll have to keep a closer eye on the guage next time I drive her, and see just how far she does go.
  11. Most welcome mate, just be careful, I'm a bit of a noob so I'll prolly pick your brains all night
  12. I just recently got myself an R34 GT-T, in total stock format, and was a little curious how much PSI the stock turbo runs? According to the boost guage in there by standard, it goes upto 1 kg/cm2, which apparantly converts to about 14psi! If this is true, then there's something wrong with my car, because it certainly doesn't feel like that much boost So is the stock boost guage hideously wrong? Or am I doing the conversion wrong? Does anyone know the actual stock PSI rating of the turbo? Cheers
  13. Date: Saturday March 12th, 2005 Time: 8:00pm Place: Carindale Metropol For those who don't know where the Metropol is, it's on the corner of Creek and Pine Mountain Rds, maps are here and here. We will see how we go for time, and most likely leave for the coast about 8:30pm, and claim our little corner of BWCP when we get there Hopefully this week, it will be open! After which we can chat, take lots of pictures, do a few laps of cavill etc etc. I highly recommend you get your hands on a UHF radio, as we will be using them to keep in touch For those of us who don't plan on doing much sleeping that night, we will most likely head back to brisbane and check out the usual haunts sometime around 12pm/1am, any excuse not to put our girls back in the garage. If anyone wants to talk to me about this, PM me, grab me on MSN ([email protected]) or you can call/SMS me on 0403 830 571 (just keep in mind that I can't answer my phone while at work ) Original Post: ------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, so I might as well make a dedicated thread about this, seeing as a few people have shown interest Basically I'd like to get together a group of fellow R34 owners (as well as anyone else who'd like to tag along ) to have a meet & greet, then go for a cruise down the broadwater car park, and see how many beautiful R34s we can get in one place Looking at the Metropol in Carindale as a meet spot for now (seeing as most people expressing interest seem to be southside), on the corner of creek rd & pine mountain. Most likely meet up around 8pm and hang out for a bit before heading on our way, there's maccas and I believe subway there for those who like to have their dinner around that time too So if I could get you guys to post your interest, and of course, any suggestions if you feel there'd be a more suitable time/place for the meet, and hopefully we can iron out some details by next weekend
  14. Wouldn't make it exclusively R34s, it would just be an oppurtunity to show them off We seem to be mostly southside, so maybe somewhere like the Metropol on Creek rd?
  15. I'm sure as hell keen for it, maybe we can organise something for next saturday? Meet up and have dinner somewhere, then make the trip to BWCP to show off some uniformed R34 action If enough of you are keen I'd be happy to lay down some details, feel free to PM interest/suggestions. On another note, mythr33 and I compared notes between his R33 GTST and my R34 GTT tonight, the 34 certainly has a big advantage in the handling, lots less body roll, better suspension etc etc, felt as though his boost came on a bit stronger then mine though, mostly likely due to him having a much more adequete exhaust I'm certainly going to have to look into doing some work soon!
  16. Pod filter hey? Sounds good, any particular brand/model thats well suited to the R34s? Or just a decent brand name in general?
  17. I have no idea what sort of brand to be looking at mate I don't want to go overboard with it, but I don't want some you-beaut supercheap auto style exhaust either, I want something thats gonna help give me a bit more flow
  18. Well I'll be going down BWCP tomorrow night (sat), so if you wanna have a look/ride/drag send me a PM and I'll give you my mobile and we can sort something out
  19. Phwoar... now thats a tempting offer I actually usually work weekends, but give me some time to put some cash aside and I might come see you, ok? I assume that we're talking at least half decent brands here?
  20. Yes, mine is four door, and the tiptronic is a whole lot of fun I've never driven a turbo car before, so I don't really notice the lag an incredible lot, although how you describe it sounds about right.
  21. I've never driven an R33, but I just so happen to have an R34 GT-T Tiptronic While I can't comment about the difference in performance between the two, I can tell you the tiptronic makes a big difference over the auto, I get much better pickup and response by choosing the gears myself then by letting the auto do it.
  22. She had 42,284 on the clock when I picked her up
  23. Here's the link to pics for those who missed em; http://firefrog.isa-geek.net:1337/gallery/...umName=R34-GT-T I'd like to get turbo back done, and about $1k sounds like a decent price, though I'm trying to save for alarm & stereo at the moment. I might just have to save my pennies and do it properly. I'm also a southsider, and I'll most likely be out and about tonight, I don't know if friday nights are big at all, but I'm up for any excuse to go for a run So if any of you guys do want to hook up for a little meet and greet (R34 represent! ) send me a msg and we can organise something.
  24. Most Jap cars are speed limited to 180 are they not?
  25. So as you've mostly prolly noticed by now, I'm the proud new owner of an R34 GT-T, having never owned an import before, or even a real performance vehicle, I've just got a few Q's that I'd like to throw around Firstly, I do plan to end up doing quite a bit of work to my girl, bigger turbo, FMIC, ECU etc etc, but I'm assuming its a better idea to get as much of it done at once, and have it all tuned together, yah? For the moment at least, I'd like to get a bit of an exhaust put on (cat back, for my wallet's sake), just so she doesn't sound as boring as a commodore for now I'm mostly looking for recommendations on where to go to get this done, I'm not after anything thats gonna shake the earth, but something with a nice sounding note, and performance in mind would be good. I'm quite a fan of the big cannon exhausts, the sort that points up and out, if you get my drift (if not, I'll try to find pics to explain better ). So where to go? And how much am I looking at for a decent quality kit? Also, is it reasonable to expect to be able to get a good cat back job now, and fill the rest in later? Or am I better off just getting something that does the job for now, and getting a full system put in later? Next up, I remember in the first R34 I test drove (which was significantly more modified then mine), you could really hear the turbo spool up, it was instantly noticable within the car, and was one of the things that really turned me onto the R34. However I don't get that anywhere near as much in mine, and knowing unfortunately little about the more intricate workings of turbos, I'm curious in how you achieve this sound. Is it just a case of a bigger turbo, or are there other components that boost it up? Anyway, sorry if the questions are a little noob, but any help/info would be appreciated
