  1. Well, good news all...the car is now in the process of getting the compliance work done. It has been a very long and stressful time, but it will be well worth the effort, everything back to stock wasnt so bad after all. So it shouldnt be too much longer before it hits the road! Thanks for everyones help and info, much appreciated. Mat.
  2. Thank you all very much for the replies and PMs. I picked up a box tonight so now everything is great. Thanks alot to Nick for coming to the rescue...

  7. Fellow GTR owners, Im asking a favour here. Would it at all be possible for me to borrow a stock airbox for R32 GTR? Not sure if 33 34 or fits tho...i cant find one anywhere! Just about to get compliance for my car and this is the only piece from many that i dont have to return it completely to stock. Im sure someone out there must have one of these lying around, one that you dont want to sell because these are so rare! I just need to borrow it... Even if its on the car and u dont intend on driving it for a while ill come n pull it out! Only need it for as long as the compliance takes. To avoid unessessary trouble, Melbourne is preferred, but if i gotta travel, ill travel. Alternatively, if you know someone who has one...let me know. Thanks in advance, this is a pain in the ass lol Mat. 0400 558 030
  8. If you can gain access to some cheap or free dyno time do it there. I ran my 26 in by running it to the floor in 4th at about 60kph eg 2-2,500rpm at timed intervals => temps (but not flat for the first few ks). Did this for bout 100-150ks worth n that was it. But i guess if u dont have dyno time, try n do this on a big hill.
  9. You can also get it from E.T. Performance in Dandy. They sell a couple of different widths and lengths, and pretty cheap too.
  10. I'm with rob...LPG is for cooking, not running cars

Hey people, Have got for sale: 1 * BOSCH Genuine 040 Pump => good for up to 370HP $220 1 * BOSCH Genuine 044 Pump => good for up to 700HP $240 Both are brand new in unopened plastic, bought them a while ago, didn't use them, they are no longer needed. Also, 1 * Unbranded Bosch Equivalent 040 Pump => $180 This is effectively a 040 pump, but without the Bosch stamp. Manufactured in the same factory, EXACTLY the same as Genuine Bosch. 12. But does it not matter that my car was brought over amost 5 years ago?? I was thinkin maybe that the regulations were different back then, so the original buyer of the car from japan never requested them (dereg papers) because they werent needed back then? Apparently you didnt need them back then, now you do. Ill be faxing a letter to DOTARS anyway, to get the original copy of the Import Approval and see where that gets me. Thanks all. Mat.
  13. But i asked them that question: 'do i need dereg papers?' n they said no. I thinking that the dereg papers are a new thing?? Like since the introduction of the SEVS? n that came in 2003, and car was brought over in 2001? (Getting more and more confused every minute)
  14. Haha yeah im very happy its getting complied, but now its gonna be a fair bit of work; and i did get the guys name that i spoke to; Fuel Rail Injectors Fuel Pressure Reg HKS Cooler Piping kit Front bar Pods Yeah theres a few things there. She'll be rite. Thanks again.
  15. Thanks everyone for the helpful info, all very much appreciated. I called DOTARS today, they went through the Import approval with me, we each had a copy right in front of us. Apparently is has to be done under the SEVS scheme, and all i need is the original Import Approval nothing else. They gave me the numbers of four workshops who can do this work for me too. Why is it that no one knows what they are talking about? Even workshops who deal with this all the time. Can i go as far to say that DOTARS have the final say in this matter? There is no one else that can contest this right? DOTARS' information is more reliable than these random workshops and engineers??? Im still very confused and nothing makes any sense, but just as long as DOTARS reckons it can be done im happy. Thanks again everyone for your help. Mat. P.S. i think the whole system is F*@#ed. Regulations need to be made clear.
  16. Once again, would anyone be able to show me one of these? pretty please!
  17. The car wasnt running; eg. engine was ceased. Body needed a bit of work so thought might as well do that at the same time.
  18. Id hope to think that would be one of the last options.... but wouldnt it have to be signed by someone from Japan? eg Jap writing? Does anyone have an original receipt from Japan that i could see?
  19. Ive been to two workshops; the first told me that it wasnt under the 15yr rule, and that i needed a receipt from when it was purchased from whoever in Japan. The second told me that it could be done under 15yr, but i need 'deregistration papers' and an original import approval. I can get neither of these.
  20. CPA scheme? ive never heard of it...what is it? when i called DOTARS they would have had the import approval in front of them telling me the car could be complied and registered, they confirmed to me that the approval was also valid. I will give DOTARS a call today. Thanks everyone
