  1. You f**kin better be you bastard! I'll be there. I'm off to supercheap now to pick up some power steering fluid, cause its startin to squeel like a pig when I turn the wheel That, and you'll all have to forgive me for the incredibly annoying fan belt noise when I start the car, as it's also decided to start doing that and I have no idea how to change or tighten a fan belt....lol See yas there!
  2. I should be there man you know that.... as much as I hate the foreshore ricers
  3. I'm in... the roads up the way are pretty good now. My job takes me on them regularly, and even in a truck they're pretty good. I was just up there on thursday, and the majority of them a re pretty good. I haven't looked at that map on the first post yet for the route you suggested, but I'll check it out later on today and tell you if I know any of them are too shit to drive performance cars on.
  4. I'm still really undecided on if this is true. The problem I have with the standard box is the inlet funnel just seems too damn small to do any good
  5. Damn that'd be right wouldn't it Yeah, give us a look at the colour!
  6. $630! Excellant! PM on the way good sir!
  7. Love watching this build Dan, and I'll be there watching you kick arse this year! I got a question for you too actually.... My heater box is f**ked at the moment, and looking at your interior pics, do you really have to pull that much of the dash apart to get at it?
  8. Burgandy.... pretty standard colour really.... in Newcastle it would seem anyway. plates are IMT-418
  9. Cable ties Thats the most effiecent way. Small ones through the mesh onto where you clips attach on the sides and middle now.
  10. I wave all the time to people. And I never get anything back..... well only one time that I can remember. I do forget sometimes, and its normally those times when I'm getting a wave back, and my girlfriend is normally the one saying "hey he was waving at you!" Then I sit there going "ahh crap" for ages I shall make a mental note to wave to all of you now when your around my way Hey Freeman, are you the dude that works in Glendale Supercentre somewhere?
  11. Thanks Predator and Merlin ok, so if I reroute the heater core for now, and monitior the temp, I should be able to find out if its my thermostat thats gone as well? If so, 2 questions.... I assume the hoses for the heater core are the rubber ones heading into the fire wall that exit the engine on the drivers side. Am I able to just reroute them directly where the exit/enter the engine? And how hard is it to change the thermostat and where abouts is it located?
  12. what? what crap? The whole reason you can't have an open filter of any sort is because it would be taking in heat and gasses expelled within your engine bay, thus creating more out the back end due to poor induction. Or at least thats how I read it. Hence why and stock air filter, in any type of car, will have an intake from outside the car.
  13. So, from the beginning..... A while ago I started noticing a liquid leaking from underneath the passenger side of my dash. At first it was cold so I assumed it was just some sort of condensation from the aircon as it had been on full for a while. Then it was a hot liquid. A few weeks after that, a friend noticed that the carpet in the passenger footwell was soaked, and upon closer inspection, it was a brown slightly greasy liquid that seemed to be coming from around a plastic like box behind the dash. Then that week, the car overheated, and when it finally got cool enough for me to fill it up again, the radiator was bone dry and whatever was left in the overflow bottle was actually boiling! I filled it, watched it for the next few days, and put it down as an isolated incident. Earlier this week, it did it again. This time I've been checking it before I go to drive the car. So far I've been putting in about half a litre after every drive. And I started noticing more of the liquid inside of the car and that it looks and smells very similar to that within the radiator. I have also noticed that instead of the car temp being at about 1/4 on the guage its been sitting at around 1/2 which is where it would normally sit on a very very hot day. I've talked with some people, and my father suggested it could have something to do with the heater box or the pipes leading to it. Does anybody have any ideas or any ways I can test out some theories?
  14. I shall do just that Abo Bob as these problems are quite strange to me, and the little things annoy the shit out of me with this car.
  15. The UAS ones look good, but aren't much good in the way of passing EPA regulations. Mainly due to the fact that they aren't completely sealed. A mate made a replica of one for me and after a run in with a lovely officer, he informed me of what it needed to be. I also checked alot of regulations as well to make sure I was getting the right info before I went changing anything. I must add as well that mine was one of the old UAS ones that were made for a stock cooler, so had more holes then FMIC ones.
  16. You must either have the pod in a fully enclosed box and duct air in, or have the stock airbox on the car. Since the aftermarket one then replicates the design of the stock one, just with better components. Where abouts in NSW are you? Me and another guy on here are making up box designs at the moment. PM me for more info if you want it.
  17. See, the Lambo driver clearly couldn't get away from the Swift because he made the mistake of trying to drive on Sydney roads. Now if he was up here in Newy, he would have had plenty of room to use that 0-100kmh in 4.3sec acceleration speed and drag the fool off from the lights. But I agree with Tooly, anyone else seem to get every Commodore driver in the state wanting to act like an idiot around them? And then get pissed off because they don't have the same acceleration as I do? At least if they got a real car like the dude in the Ford Pursuit I was having a run with last night they could keep up with a stock R33
  18. Oh man, I really really wanna be in for this, but I've started having alot of trouble with cooling lately, and its put me back alot on getting the front mount I may have to just come down to spectate, at least then I can check things out before I do em. I sooooo wanted to start doing track days this year though
  19. I agree. Paul is one of the best around here. He'll tell you exactly what is and isn't worth doing depending on what you wnat out of the car. And being a Skyline owner he knows alot about what he is doing. He seems a bit strange at first, but bear with him. His brain is moving at a hundred miles an hour and once you get to know him you can see it in what he says that he actually does this stuff for the love of it, rather than the money.
