  1. Yep seen it, looks like the car was cut to a convertible with a gas axe! Convertible here in winter - way cool!
  2. There's a couple of Magnas getting around with big wings etc. Have these people no idea? Or no friends, that could give them a reality check?
  3. Shannons, especially if you are affiliated with a car club or involved in a recognised form of motorsport. $50 a month per Skyline GTS4 (Have 2 insured with them). However I'm 35 and have a clean slate.
  4. Why do people always try and haggle in these chat rooms? Do it with a handful of cash when you are looking at the car........Tyrekickers..........!!!
  5. another favourite of mine in Launceston is the burgundy Camry with big alloys and the huge but crap sounding rowdy exhaust. It's gotta be a 4 cylinder auto, and it sounds so lame when it kicks back a gear. Why modify a grandpa car?
  6. Any Commodore executive with an HSV sticker..............
  7. It's nothing to do with the car being seized before, it's all about the driver. If you've had a car confiscated once for 48 hours, then get busted driving like a nut in a friend's car, your friend's car gets seized for 3 months!!
  8. I thought it was pretty much Australia wide that for a first time seizure you lost your car for 48 hours, then if you were silly enough to do it again you'd lose the car for 3 months.
  9. Well, yes they can take it based on someone elses word. Besides if you've lost it for 3 months it wouldn't be a first time siezure would it?
  10. And if we take photos the owners will think we like their cars!!! Little will they realise!
  11. Here we go boys and girls, the perfect opportunity to pay out on the clowns doing the block in your respective city. What's your favourite (read the worst car) you see doing the block? My favourites are. A beige Corolla SE hatch, WRX scoop and bonnet vents, big 18"chromies, rowdy exhaust and a loud stereo. Yep, all those mods turn a granny car into a genuine performance car don't they! Any Excel with a body kit, particularly the ones with the big Cobra stripes! Sorry kids but if you are going to throw money at a car why not start with a credible car to begin with?
  12. The only trouble with this advice is often dotars just don't call..........you have to do all the chasing. They'll be flooded with Import applications in the next few weeks until the law change is gazetted, so don't be waiting for them to ring you!
  13. Perhaps this car was imported either to be stripped for parts, or as a race car import. Therefore it wouldn't have the full import approval issued by Dotars that is required to be fully road registered.
  14. What's the golden rule? - Don't draw attention to yourself! Scream around the block like all the kiddies in their shitbox corollas and hyundais, of course you'll get hassled!
  15. Oo oo oo, whatcha doing monkey boy?
  16. I got the impression this guy was a bit of a tyre kicker.
  17. Get this, a few weeks after the race imports disappears out of the paper a bloke rings me about mine that's for sale and says he's thinking about racing one! Obviously hadn't been reading the car classifieds for the last couple of months!
  18. Got most of what I was after, but there's still some bits I wouldn't mind tracking down locally....
  19. surely you aren't surprised? Yep, same people week in, week out.......
  20. My R32 GTS4 coupe has just broken a wire cable in the driver's door electric window assembly. It still has power etc and when you look down into it you can see the wire drum revolving with the broken end of wire rotating around it. I've pulled the interior trim off the door but the area where the wire is is inside the structural part. This wire is what drives the window go up and down. How do you fix this sort of thing? Or where I can find a replacement part?
