Ther traffic branch was disbanded some years ago - a traffic branch still exist but there are no longer coppers dedicated to "traffic" as such. They are expected to be "rousta bouts" and do a bit of everything - hence they know less about car laws etc as they are not specialised in this area, as the 'old school' coppers would have been.

Erik - its not JUST rac that does this.... unless you have agreed policy OR your car is vintage or something spesh - then I am pretty sure the depreciation will occur in the insurance amount. I had my 180sx insured with RAC and the insured amount did not depreciate. Get your sis to ring RAC and inquire

as I said before - you may have an agreed value policy.

All insurance companies will work like that. I mean if you insure a brand new commodore for $40 000 and still own it 10 years later... its not going to be worth that anymore is it??
