  1. G'day, Im looking to get a full respray of my R32 GTR later this year / early next year. Respray white original. Does anyone have any experience/recommendations in Sydney for a good shop? So far a recommendation I have is for LSR Collision Center in Artarmon. Thanks all, Fraser
  2. http://smh.drive.com.au/roads-and-traffic/stoner-brings-back-room-for-error-on-speeding-20110330-1cgdb.html There is hope! IN ONE of his first acts as Deputy Premier, Andrew Stoner has not only ordered the Roads and Traffic Authority to reinstate the leeway given to speeding motorists, but he has asked for it to be increased.
  3. 2nd last line, G35 with GTR badges. A lot of them getting around here.
  4. I walked around it about 10times and still had no idea...It's a hatch... nissan sunny?
  5. So since I'm currently living in the US, I figured I would take a look at some "HUGE" import car show.... Pretty disappointed. There was a couple of stock R35's and Evo's, but the main theme was how many speakers can you fit in your boot...... F&F stereo type.... They also seem to love to badge everything Skyline and GTR
  6. And I'm pretty sure that whoever you crashed into would have called the police straight away after they realized you didn't have insurance. The guy who crashed into the BMW didn't have cash straight away. Its not like he pulled $ of of his pocket and gave it to the BMW driver at the accident. He had to go and sell the car. The BMW driver was very lucky the he didn't get left paying the insurance excess because the at fault driver walked away from it which is what most people would have done. He didn't just let his rego laps because he forgot to renew it. He was driving with a suspended license. I don't think he could screw that up with "plenty of reasons, stress from work, lack of time or whatever." He didn't just forget. He was committing a criminal act by driving at all.
  7. As soon as you get out of the car, check the other driver is ok, then take out your phone and take lots of pictures. Make sure you take the pictures BEFORE YOU MOVE YOUR CAR. Even if you call the police, the other driver could lie to them once you both have moved your cars out of traffic. If you have the pictures as of right after the accident, you can show the police. I will always call the police from now on. Police report = sleep at night. As soon as I have checked the other drivers condition, taken the pictures I would have called them. I would call them before I even speak to the other driver or move the car. Then you can say "the police are on the way" as you go to exchange details. The other guys is stuck then and won't really have time to come up with some BS play, or leave the scene. The other reason to make the call before you talk to the other driver is so you can tell the operator "the other driver appears hostile, and I am in fear of them and don't really want to get out of my car" without the other driver hearing. Apparently this will over come the "What is the estimate damage rar rar rar. Do we really need to attend? A mobile unit will be there in approximately 1hour...."
  8. True that! I guess the judge took one look at him and went "GONE!!!!" He would have been speeding. He reckons that he was being "aggressive" in the corners but wasn't speeding but everything used against him in court was total bs.
  9. Good luck. I would fight it. It will really all depend on the judge. A group of my friends drove to Bathurst for the weekend and did a few laps around the track. They then parked up to have a chat and a few mins later the police turned up. Some people who had been walking around the track had called them. When the police arrived the walkers gave statements to the police saying that the driver of a grey sports car (pointed at my friends xr6) was doing around 90km/h past them and that he passed them 3 times under 2minutes. It went to court. The evidence brief had many hole i.e. The witness statement said the driver was gearing a red top. Pictures of the group with the cars at the track on the day in question, show my friend wearing a white jumper while talking to police! The number plate in the witness statement was also wrong. Even the make of the car (witness statement said Holden) My friend even explained that the witness was clearly wrong as there is no way that his stock xr6 can do 2mins around the track. The judge replied "Fords and Holden's do it in 2minutes all the time. Don't you watch the 1000." GUILTY!
  10. I actually cant believe the guy in the BMW left the accident without calling the police. I had woman lift her foot off the brake when they went searching for her phone in her handbag while sitting at a set of lights. She rolled into the back of my GTR and left a large scratch on the rear bar and cracked one of my reverse lights. While I was inspecting the damage she was sitting in her car saying "I only just tapped it. There is no damage. Don't worry about it" while her car was still hard up against mine. I had to order her out of car to give me her details. Just before I got back into the car, I took a picture on my phone of her car in the back of mine, and a picture of her number plate. She "said" she had insurance. I called her later that day saying the car was booked to have a quote the next day and she wasn't worried "it was only a scratch. those are only like $200 to fix right?" I had the quote, and actually had the repair work started immediately. The repairer replaced the rear bar as it was actually cracked. The light was also replaced. Total cost was around 3k and Shannon's (my insurer) sorted it all out. Out of curticy, I called her and told her what the actual damage was, and the cost. She denied ever hitting me and said she didn't know who I was. About a month later Shannon's called me saying there was a problem with the claim and that the woman denied ever hitting me. "Do you have a police report" - No "Do you have a witness" - No "Do you have any photos" YES!!! I emailed the photos in and never heard anything after that. As people are assholes, I will always call the police if I am ever in an accident again. This 100% covers you. Who wants to the headache of someone lying after they just stuffed your car. You could end up being the one who has to pay. They may even invent a witness and say you backed into them? If they are driving without a license or insurance - BONUS. Just as long as I am covered with comprehensive insurance. Ps - Your mate is an idiot. I want to call the cops right now and bust his ass!
  11. I have road rage every day. Every time my TE37 customs go over a pot hole I yell at the road
  12. the only time I have ever had drama is when I have been doing the right thing. Maybe it's because when I'm doing the right thing it makes no sence to you at all and you feel targeted or driving slow enough to notice. Maybe whenI'm being silly I'm to busy looking out for police to notice anything els
  13. I have been driving down my street in 2nd at around 30 kmh as my driveway was coming up. An old lady walked out into the road infront of my car and I had to come to a complete stop. She stood infront of my car and was waving a walking stick around above my bonnet while yelling "slow down. Children play in this area and if you keep speeding I will call the police". My dad got out of the passenger side and told her that if she hit the car with the stick he would see how she liked being hit with it. They got into some rambing argument about it being a 50zone and that it's very hard to speed after just coming off a speed hump and that the only person breaking any laws was her by standing in the road. She just started repeating again and again that she going to call the policeas I was speeding. I put my car in the garage and my dad walked the 3 houses back to ours.
  14. Since we have a Road Rage thread, I figured I would start a “Pedestrian Rage” thread for all those times you are driving and someone on the side of the road does something to you that gets you blood boiling. Road Rage generally consists of vehicles and their passengers. I don’t know if pedestrians giving you grief is considered Road Rage. Yesterday I dropped my brother off in Chatswood at the Westfield underpass crossing. I then turned left and left again on Spring Street. The Spring Street turn onto Victoria AVE is a left turn only which one car will turn at time as the car behind waits for a gap in pedestrians before moving up to the turn. The corner is sort of an unofficial pedestrian crossing, so you just wait for pedestrians to stop crossing in front of your car, move up into the corner and the pedestrians will walk behind the car, while you look right to make sure the traffic is clear before completing the turn (PRETTY SIMPLE). This is exactly what I was doing yesterday with the nose of my car right out into Victoria AVE. Pedestrians had been walking behind my car for around 5 secs, I lift the clutch again, start to roll forward and this guy decides he would walk out into Victoria Ave in front of my car really slowly, he turns around and starts moon walking across the front of my car. He whole time he is laughing with his friends who did the right thing and walked behind the car. I put the clutch and brake in to stop and not knock him down and gave this clown a look like “yeah you are a F*&KWIT”. He looks at me and says “WHA T THE F*&K YOU LOOKING AT F*&GOT”. Now how many of you have a little evil voice inside your head and another voice telling you not to do anything silly? I do… “Fraser just ignore it. Yes he is a$$hole.” OR “FRASER 8000RMP DUMP AND SHOOT HIM ACROSS THE ROAD INTO THE SHOPS. DO IT!!! DO IT NOW” On several occasions I have had kids lob rocks at the different cars I have owned over the years. The last occasion of this I saw the kids jump the back fence of a house when they saw me slam on the brakes and reverse back up at them. I looked over the fence and saw them run inside the house. I knocked on the door and confronted the parent who said that this couldn’t have been her children as they were playing up stairs and that I should “piss off”. I explained to her that I knew one of her children wasn’t wearing a shirt and the other had on a red top. Again I was told to “leave”. Out came my phone, 000 “Police please. Hello, I just drove past house in which some kids seem to be unsupervised. They are running from a house onto the road and are throwing stones at cars. A patrol is on the way? Thank you”
  15. A couple of year’s back I was a passenger and my mum was driving me to Lindfield station. We were behind this van for around 600m on a residential road and the van was doing 20kmh. We got to 4 way intersection on the red and we needed to turn left. The Van was in front of us and seemed to be going straight ahead. The lights turned green and the van didn’t move. The lights went red. After a five second count on the next green light, my mum tapped the horn. The van moved 2meters forward, stopped in the middle of the intersection, a junky looking guy got out with a hammer and started screaming "WHAT C*$NT. WHAT THE F*$CK DO YOU WANT C*$NT". He then started running at our car. Mum floored the car into oncoming lane (was empty) and the guy threw the hammer at the car as we passed him. He got back into the Van and chased us all the way to the Gordon police station. We pulled into the carpark under the police station and he was still screaming at us. I got the license plate and we went and reported it to the police. The guy is already wanted by police and is considered armed and dangerous as he has several prior arrests for armed burglary, assault with a weapon, resisting arrest (the list is as long as my arm). The police said we should have run him down.
