  1. My mates got some minor rattles from his bottom end bearings which we think the knock sensors are picking up and retarding the timing as some days its real fast others its shocking, would unplugging them cause the timing to stay at the base timing? or would it not function correctly?
  2. It is not proven that not running a bov will harm the turbo at all even at high PSI. It can even cause the car the be less responsive as you have to repressurize all the tubing when you get back on the throttle. (More noticeble with a frontmount)
  3. Ok Dropped to $7k to see if it sparks any interest.
  4. Not trying to be a dick but I used 1 jack and a spare tired for a safe guard (not the safest but I was only under there for 30seconds) and a socket set which cost $200 to do mine. The oil filter I used a screwdriver and a hammer and lots of swearing trying to reach in there. Used one of those oil trays to catch the oil. Just find an empty road or somewhere where you can get 1m of room infront of the car and you should be able to do it.
  5. You need experience to turn a spanner?
  6. Id upgrade them to be safe anyway, if they havent had a good life and are on the way out this could be a recipe for disaster. No one likes having their engine lean out and go pop.
  7. With a full exhaust they usually run around 10, stocko definately 6-7 though
  8. Ok its getting on a bit, I know this car is easily worth $7500 but I need to get rid of it so Im open to any offers.
  9. ghfhfghfgfgh
  10. My diff is very similar however it will only light up the rear right, extremely noticeble in the wet, if I flog it around a right hand corner the ass kicks out and the right goes nuts. If I do it around a left hand corner then the rear right still lights up but its sketchy but doesnt really let go. In the wet even small overtaking/turning makes it light up. Damn pos stock LSDs. This is in a HR31 as well. Time for a mechanical LSD I think.
  11. No its not, thats 15minutes of the engine running at sub operational conditions hence more wear and tear, also running it at idle for 15mins would start to glaze the bores wouldnt it? I think this would be doing more damage then its preventing, also your gearbox and drivetrain wouldn't be warmed up either.
  12. links? im interested
  13. Whats an apexi TT pen type do? Im assuming some sort of hand controller?
  14. Thats the way I was thinking, and now im selling my car because of it, such a money pit.
  15. When you turn on the ignition do you get that whine from the fuel pump? it is definately getting fuel? If so when you crank it does it try to start and splutter or does the starter motor just kick over and thats it?
  16. Probably look about $1k Cost me around $1k included: Timing belt Water pump Cam Seals Brake Pads Brake machining All oils/filters (diff gbox etc) Tune Pulled starter motor apart and cleaned it (was making horrible noises) And lots of other small random things, perished lines etc. Now I did the plugs oil/filters myself and bought a new O2 sensor so this made it slightly cheaper
  17. I think you'll find its spelt 'You' :upurs:
  18. I just replaced the O2 sensor for anyone thats interested
  19. The electrode that comes out of the end of the coil and touches the spark plug end that rod is the carbon rod.
  20. oh boy
  21. I own an automatic but Ive almost always driven manuals, only have an auto now as I got it for a bargain HR31 rb20det for $6k with
  22. Mine did exactly the same thing and the solinoid was just not on tight enough, tightened it up and voila perfect again
  23. Wow I didn't know ECU controlled anti lag was that good
