  1. I can see a lot of fun here I've started mine, and all I can say is it features the R32 and the very distinctive rear break lights of the R34
  2. as far as warranty goes, its generally a manufacturers warranty, not a sellers warranty. e.g. the part goes back to the manufacturer and they test, repair or replace the part. through ebay, its up to the seller to get the part to the manufacturer for repair or replacement. doesnt always go this way though. of course if you can, try to bypass the seller in this case, and contact the manufacturer regarding the claim. so long as you have some sort of proof of purchase, and if the manufacturer is decent, they should be able to help you out. most companies, if they care about their reputation, are willing to do something about this. have you considered this as an alternative?
  3. The idea of forcing sellers to post pics is great, but .. Realistically, it's up to the seller to make their sale. This forum is a place to sell your goods for free, and if you have an item for sale and desperately want it sold, you would obviously go to the efforts to take intricate photos and make sure the item is portrayed at its best. Stock items that most people don't need photos for have obviously been replaced with newer/aftermarket parts by the seller for one, and obviously also means the seller isnt desperate for the sale therefore there is two reasons in one as to why the seller wont have to post a pic. Whilst it might make it easier for the buyer to see photos before they decide, it is really the job of the seller to make use of what we have here. If you dont like an item becuase you cant see a photo, either ask the seller for the photo, or move on. Maybe even try to buy locally? If they cant take a photo, ask to view it in person (obviously with the interest in purchasing the item)? It's great to further develop the for sale section, and im all for it, but like I said, if you dont like the item because it doesnt have any photos, noone is pressuring you to buy it, and its not SAUs responsibility to ensure sales.
  4. my jaw dropped when i saw this! absolutely beautiful! Wish I had the money for it, i'd score it! Good luck with the sale!
  5. for you, being a toyota driver, going to nissan might seem like the dark side. personally, i say .. just do it!
  6. looks like a pretty phat ride, buddy. good luck
  7. I like it ... looks tough as! How much? Those neons in the third picture are way too high octane ..
  8. is that a photo of the backseat of a 4 door GTS-T, cogs? Was only looking for the coupe pics if that's the case .. thanks for the pic dezz .. im getting excited! looks like you've had some passengers in the back, they left a little bit of grub on the carpet. It's not the carpet im worried about, now its just the doggies chewing the interior Anyone else had experience with travellers travelling on paws in your skyline?
  9. nice photo lordsnipe, but im getting a headache looking at it on an angle like that.. way too artistic for me anyone else with any other photos of the backseat? Realistically I need to look at one in person, and perhaps even take a seat in the back to get an idea, but like I said I don't want to waste anyones time if im not going to buy. Unless of course if anyone in brisbane in the aspley area wants to meet up and show me their liner ;D
  10. One area of the skyline that is hardly covered, at least in photography terms, is the back seat. I've seen a few pictures, but there's not many available and its still not painting much of a picture for me. There's been a bit of discussion about it, but not quite to the extent im looking for. I don't have kids, nor am I looking to get kids anytime soon, and if I was id be getting a stagea im sure. But.. I do have two dogs. Boarder Collies to be exact. One is an adult, and one is just a pup, but he is growing quickly, and by the lankiness and the size of his feet, it seems as though he's gonna be a big dog. Naturally, I wouldn't let any animals in my car, my friends just have way to greasy hands. Don't think I want to let my doggies in my car either, but at least they are cleaner than my friends. The girlfriend says if I get a skyline, the doggies have to ride with us too. So im thinking, f**k, its not time for a stagea yet, and the only sedan out of the skylines that is worth taking a look at is the R34 (those rides look tough!). So I guess im back into the idea of getting an R33. Not touching a sedan though if I can help it. So it looks like it'll be an R33 coupe for me. Hoping for something less common than the R33, which is why I liked the R34, but I simply cannot afford that, as well as eating steak for dinner each night. Basically, what I want to know is -- the back seat. Is it gonna be enough for two dogs? Putting one of the front seats forward to let a doggy or two in isnt going to be a big deal, coz they'll just jump right in eagerly. I wont be riding with the doggies all the time, maybe just on the weekends if we go for a cruise to a puppy park or something, y'know. I have a 5 door corolla at the moment, and the doggies try to live in the front as it is, simply because they want to be where the action is. Im thinking the R33 coupe *may* have a backseat that is too small, and make them want to be in the front seat even more. I've seen a few R33s, y'know, looking in the window and such, but ive never actually sat in one since I dont want to waste anyones time if im not there to buy. Dont have any friends that own such a car either. Can I get some opinions on the backseat? some photos maybe (these seem to be the rarest)? Obviously in the coupe the back windows dont open (or do they?). Will there be enough ventilation for the puppies? I dont want them to feel trapped in the back there. Can I get some sort of harness that will keep them comfortable, but stop them from cruising into the front cabin, or do I just have to nail some boost to keep them pushed in the back? harhar! Ideally im looking for opinions from people who own these 'lines and some pets that come for cruises too, but anyone is welcome to comment and im open to opinions. Lastly, the backseat in my opinion has gotta be one of the least exciting parts of a skyline, I guess this is why not many photos of it exist. Anyone done anything noteworthy to their back seats other than take them out?
  11. thinking about this one myself at the moment. I think im going to budget for car yard prices, but buy privately and use the difference to fix up any problems that might occur, or anything that i might need. e.g. alarm, pod, oils/belts etc. If the spare dollars doesnt end up being necessary, I think i'll probably just dump the difference on my loan.
  12. haha @ thinking it's an n/a now that i have noticed it on this particular ride, i've seen quite a few others cruising around without it .. it seems to be more common than I thought. Seems to be one of those nit-picky things you only seem to pickup on when you're genuinely interested in making a purchase
  13. twoquik, that's nice .. but id rather buy from a dealer for a few reasons, even though there's a bit more of a price premium on the cars. First of all, id want to be the first owner/driver in Australia .. and yeah, as mentioned before I want to get one as close to stock as possible .. most of the 'lines available for private sales aren't quite what im looking for, particularly with mods and what not. I guess id prefer to hand my money over to a fellow SAU'er, but who knows how hard you've flogged it either
  14. located at a dealer (in QLD).. havent seen the car yet, only pics .. all looks well from what I can derrive from the photos. Are there (m)any skylines that would have come into the country without the "gt25t" sticker? My only thoughts are that if the car is lacking that sticker, its probably had a respray either because the paint was nasty, or its taken some damage. I dunno if it helps, but, here's a pic ..
  15. Hi lads, There's a particular R33 gtst S2 that im lookin at getting .. its nice and clean and looks to be in good condition, and most of all its as stock as they come which is what im after. Everything about the car meets what im after, however the "gt25t" sticker on the back is missing .. Usually something like that wouldn't particularly bother me, but I sorta came to the conclusion that it might mean that the car has had a respray. For the record, the car is a 1996 model, and is painted in black. Are there any good/tricky ways to tell if its had a respray or not? or is this a fair indication? I guess the real question is, how concerned should I be if it *has* had a respray ?
  16. thanks lads, now ive just gotta make my decision looks like i'll be doing a bit of driving around and looking .. its funny how some of these websites are broken
  17. I second the roma st parklands .. the atmosphere is nice, parking isn't much of a hassle (or you could hop on a train), plus there is BBQ facilities there .. recommend you go and check it out first .. can get pretty busy if you wanna get a BBQ
  18. lol @ red bull I work at the computer shop across the road from the aspley maccas, thats why I always see your skyline cruisin' around not to name names, but I guess you work for harvey norms? only guessin' coz of the places that offered you jobs, plus thats the only other computer shop in the area that I can think of
  19. yeah, few people on the forums recommend svi .. but they only import? or do they have already landed cars? it wasnt clear on their website at all .. rather pay the extra and see something in the flesh first
  20. Figured this was the right forums for it .. I'm in Brisbane and am gonna go out for a cruise on the weekend and take a look at some skylines. Looking at going as stock as possible on an R33 S2 1996 model. I'm after some suggestions as to which dealers to check out to find my beast. I know some of you are selling privately, but most are modded and/or don't suit my checklist of requirements. Where did you guys get your rides? any suggestions/comments are welcome!
  21. good to hear you got back on track, Col .. By any chance is your R33 S2 .. yellow? I've seen you fillin' up at the BP on gympie Rd near the maccas, if that's you (judging by the plates), I gotta say your ride is phat! Don't own a skyline yet, but yours is one of the ones that has inspired me to go that way
  22. Now I see it .. This is what they mean when they talk about skyline enthusiasts
  23. i'm new here, and I don't own a skyline (yet). I've gotta say, although i'm not buying a skyline in hopes of achieving massive power, I hope I don't get the rough treatment the original poster got. From my understanding, we are all car enthusiasts here, and each "walk of life" or "preference of car" still brands us in the same category. We all love cars, and they make our dreams. Lets hope that we can keep it together, keep it positive and away from offensive comments. p.s. Well done on your dyno day, gl in the future!
