Jarrad - some advice if you are looking for a R32 GTR. These cars are all pretty old now and if I were you I'd be looking for the following items (unless you want a standard one). 1. Sorted the oil pickup problem. I would look for a larger oil pump & a larger sump &/or baffle kit. 2. A R33 GTR long nose crank (or with a collar). 3. New turbos with steel wheels. 4. A rebuilt engine with forged internals - mainly pistons, piston rings & conrod bolts. The standard conrods are fine for up to 400rwkW. BTW if you want 18x10" rims then you also need to consider what size & look of tyres you want. 275/35/18 will need the guards to be rolled. 255/35/18 will give you a stretched look. I personally wouldn't get anything wider than 9.5" (I have 18x10 +20 BBS LM rims on mine) as 10" rims also prevent you going to full lock when turning. I say all this coming from experience (i have owned 2x R32 GTRs since March 2004) and the experience of many (but not all) others. It may cost you more $ to get a car with these mods but I promise this will be less than the dollars, time & heartache when one of the engine or turbos blow.

Pfft. And you said you're only taking your KE out to Mallala. My little Pug 205 might make 60fwkW with standard everything except exhaust, interior trim & stereo. Now you'll be lapping me as well at Mallala. I want my GTR back. Waaaaaaaa.........

A lot of people on SAU are (I'm guessing) a bit older than you and don't have to take the 'rents' views into consideration. People on SAU will tell you exactly what they think with little consideration as to what affect it may have on you... but you did ask for their opinions so I hope that you are not offended by ones that you don't like/agree with. I hope you haven't been shot down too harshly so far. FWIW the best way to make your car go faster would be to improve your driving skills. This will make every car you drive from now on faster and will save you $, time and maybe one day your life. I would suggest starting with a defensive driving course. Recently we had an Introductory Performance Driving Course held at Mallala. The High Performance course will be held late November. These training days + attending track days will give you a chance to push your car in a safe environment where there is a margin for error. Nothing can replace experience and training.

Damn! Blew my download limit again! Shaped for a week. I HATE dial up speeds (or worse)!

The decision of custom plates or not for me comes down to how noticeable do I want my car to be. If you are not worried about being pulled over and defected, or not worried about members of the public reporting you for 'hoon' behaviour then by all means get a custom plate. If you want your car to remain a bit more anonymous then I would suggest sticking with a boring standard plate that is more difficult for people & cops to remember.

Thanks for the information Kim. Only 27 spots left as one is mine.

Devastated! To lose again when in front with 90 seconds to go... it's like 2007 all over again. Now I have to rely on Glenelg to win a premiership.

Shotgun a ride in the R35

Just deposited the full $192.50 Adrian. I'm not with CBA so it will take a few days to clear. My GTR won't be ready (the new crash repairer has to completely redo most of the other 'repair' with all new parts) so now I have to get the little Pug track ready. I get the feeling that I'm going to be over-taken a lot.

The argument is invalid because you are including two groups of supporters in their home state. Sure there were some Essendon supporters at Football Park on Friday night but they would have accounted for less than 15% of the total crowd. The 66,000 people that watched that Port v Sturt game would have been close to 50/50 supporters from each team. And I remember the SANFL. I was a member at Glenelg from my 6th birthday. I even went to Glenelg Primary and was taught by two ex-SANFL players. As a long-suffering Glenelg supporter I can only enjoy the fact that the Power aren't doing as well as the Port Magpies did prior to the Crows' inception. It's about time Port supporters learnt the harsh realities of barracking for an unsuccessful club - the pain of losing Grand Finals and the shame of not even making the finals. Don't mind me Pete, I'm just sulking cause my cousins can't get the time off work for the road trip to the MCG for Saturday's game so I'll be watching it on TV like everyone else.

Nice shots. When I first scrolled down to the third photo I thought that was lightening at first. I was just about to be uber-impressed then realised that it was just a branch.

Myself and my cousin were the idiots yelling at half-time for either red or blue (the under 8s playing on the oval near the 50m line). Any mug can research, compare stats, history, conditions etc to punt on AFL. Those half-time matches are pure random and much more entertaining for a $10 bet

Gee... for that you can even sit in the front seat.

We can only hope SLED. Mentioned in my last post about a road trip for next weeks game. PM me if anyone would be interested in coming.
-
I was there tonight - Bay 137. Voice is suffering a bit now though. Great game. Sent Essendon off with the respect they deserved... none... you shouldn't be in the finals after winning <50% of your games. Already planning the road trip to Melbourne next week. GO CROWS!!!!

As if the gate assistant gets as much as the fire brigade. What exactly does he do? What help will he be if shit goes wrong? Is it strictly limited to 20 people? Can we have 24-25 (same as the recent driver training day) to bring the cost down to ~$160? I'll ask some mates who have an EVO, Porsche Boxter & a new 370Z.

Wow. Talk about changing emotions from reading your last 2 posts Scandy. I was laugh quite hard at Kermit being the Batman. Your last post is f***ed up. Is it possible to set up a surveillance video on your carport/garage for the next week whilst your car is parked elsewhere? Can you park other cars behind yours? Fit an electrical wire around your car? Edit: If we camp out I have toys from my martial arts days that can be useful.

What the hell is that sapphiregraphics? I know it is meant to be a Lamborghini Murcielago but the transmission tunnel would surely prevent a middle seat a-la the McLaren F1.

Vu - if my new sig offends let me know. I just find it more and more funny each time I read it. But I don't wish to piss you off again.

You may remember Dean mentioning Nolan helmets sold through John Bowe Driving for $300 including delivery and hopefully received an email about the Nolan X-Lite X-Pilot helmets. I have found this website in the UK which sells them for GBP270 about AUD525 (scroll down to the very last helmet). http://www.helmets4u.co.uk/index.php?manuf...i260iete8d799c5 Remember that we will need helmets for the 23 Nov course and the private trackday that Adrian (rad32) is organising for the 26 Oct.

I'm keen but had to hand my car over to another crash repairer to get quotes to fix the first repair. Not sure if I'll have the GTR back by then. I could take the Pug 205 GTI and race against HELSLO but the little turbo would probably have me.

I went to St Marys Collision Repair Centre after I crashed my R32 GTR last year. I am in the process of getting quotes to fix their repair job.
