  1. NPC clutches are the regular plate style last I saw... didnt know they could also modify the style pictured above.
  2. Interested how you'd go about modifying this? That design is always going to be tough to drive, dont see what having two three or four plates has to do with it.
  3. Quick question, do you have a part no. or description for the catch can breather line?
  4. I was initially set-up running stock coils with sm4 and 500r cdi while waiting for mercury coils to arrive and didnt have any problems with them - I spoke to a few different people (autronic dealers) and most said the cdi will work fine with std coils assuming they're in good condition. That said the car didnt go back on the dyno when the mercury coils went in. I believe the coils came through motec, so not sure if they're a stock mercury item, or a model made to motec's specs. A friend later ordered his mercury coils through a motec dealer as well.
  5. The solid centre os gikens are a prick to drive, I went from a sprung twin to a solid quad - combine that with a 2way diff and its a pig at low speed. The sprung os twin's are like a std clutch to drive and great in a daily, I'd recommend going that way if your making <450-500rwhp.
  6. A better pic of mine, taken by someone with more skills than me
  7. Im booked to do the ring the week after easter, hiring a car from rent-racecar (370eu for half day) and contemplating getting a taxi ride in the gt3 clubsport (another 295euro!). Crossing fingers the weather is decent and its fairly quiet being the week after a holiday. Only costing 2k all up so far not including the porsche - advantages of living in Europe! I'm told the bmw ring taxi's book out months in advance so if your considering that you'l have to get in early. I think hiring a car is a no no for under 25's, and most places have restrictions on under 30's for the more expensive cars (m3's etc). Hence I've gone with a golf.
  8. What tyres was the purple evo running?
  9. Its very easy to TALK about how good a ts set-up will be, the reality isn't nearly so simple. I was simply pointing out why bugger all people give it a try, because even if you want to, local manifold makers aren't interested and its hard to justify 4k for a fr manifold. Once i'm back in oz I'l be giving it a crack, and will post back to back results from the same dyno.
  10. Yep a straight through muffler is exactly the same as a cat
  11. lol give the guy a break
  12. Thanks for sharing, some really nice pics in there. Roy, theres a bunch of 35 pics on his site if you hit the link.
  13. I wanted to upgrade my single scroll .82 gt35, but full race want to sell a million dollar manifold with the housing and the local manifold makers just tell you your wasting your time.
  14. Looks nice, we had a similar problem welding my rwd rb26 sump and had to face the flange...(note to self - bolt the sump to an old block next time) btw did you source the studs/bolts from nissan? Was a pain getting all the part numbers, waiting for some to come ex japan then half didn't fit anyway.... ended up using rb30 exh manifold studs in places lol.
  15. Trent, I run individual EGT's in each exh runner and have corrections of up to +12% and -14% depending on boost pressure. This is on a stock plenumed rb26.....
  16. I find it hilarious that your getting pissy about someone making a passing comment about wheel fitment when your fitting the cheapest wheel and rubber combo you can find. If it were really so important maybe you'd take some of the advice given and put some decent rubber and wheels under the car. This is the last thing I'm going to say. If you ask for advice then hang shit on everyone giving it to you perhaps think again why you started the thread in the first place. End of the day its your car, but dont expect everyone to pat you on the back and agree with you.
  17. Depends if its an import or local model. Imports have two options, r31house or uras. R31house is stupidly expensive for what it includes and are only sold through powerplay which pretty much rules them out. The red 7th meister car above runs an r31house front lip. Or hunt around yahoo auctions for one of the older discontinued kits. cheers mitchy
  18. Pull your head in chief, I said that in response to your comment saying they wouldn't fit. I never suggested it was the way to go for you. You obviously missed it so I'll say it again. As for show ponies, you have no f*king idea
  19. you missed the point. I run 1deg static but by the time the car squats the wheels turn into the guards.
  20. cheers - only posted one pic though, everyone knows what polished rb26 covers look like
  21. You'd be suprised what fits with a bit of tyre stretch and dynamic camber. If your happy with the rims thats all that matters, I just wonder why you bothered asking when you had already made your mind up.
  22. Wheels on the black supra are GTN, not ce28.
  23. The wheels in that pic are Advans..... If it is ce28's you want then perfectrun are great to deal with (but expect to pay 4k new), otherwise I'm pretty sure jpc have a few sets of 17's.
  24. Your 16-17kg wheels without tyres weigh almost as much as 32gtr wheels with tyres! Try to remember with bigger wheels the increase in weight hits you harder, inertia is a function of the distance squared.. I can certainly tell the difference when I switch between my 16" 32gtr and 18" ssr professors and thats with over 400rwkw. You should be able to pickup some decent jap wheels for around 2k - and if you sell your stock wheels that'l get you the extra 500 you need.
