  1. cheers guys, very interesting advice not sure which path to take...may look for closer to 300rwhp with a cheaper t4 type setup and save the dollars for the rb26:) just read boostd's thread, very usefull as well
  2. ?
  3. i had the same thoughts as to how they were going to measure boost, and was confused as to the conflicting info. the info on nos was supplied to me in the entrant info pack, and then a different thing was displayed upon registering the cars. not my mistake, ask the dyno guys why it kept changing love the objective approach tho keep it up.
  4. Id like to select the correct turbo for my application..Ive done a few searches but id like to be sure its an rb20det (std internals), 440cc injectors, 450hp bosch pump, 600*300*75 cooler, aftermarket ecu. i work with a a skilled fabricator and hence building an exh manifold to suit a particular turbo poses no problem ideally the turbo would be internally gated. im looking for the most power ahcievable on a std internals rb20det while still having good 'average' power, as sydneykid calls it lag doesnt bother me in the least as long as the thing can hold 1bar and the motor doesnt drop of its power curve in between gears. id rather not boost it past ~19psi. i realise the motor may be on borrowed time at these power levels (100,000kms, '89) but im prepared to rebuild if it comes to that ideally flat 12's(11.99?) with slicks and mid 300rwhp are the aim and im assuming also the limits of the motor. im thinking a garret GT28? (http://www.horsepowerinabox.com/HPIAB2/cat...ategory26_1.htm) any help would be greatly appreciated regards Nick
  5. the results on the motorvation page have a fair few mistakes, mostly for the driving events
  6. when filling out the registration for the dyno, you may have read 'any blown v8 vehicle must run no more than 5psi' thats not hearsay and was on a sign you may have read if you were registering a car for the dyno on the day. couldnt miss it really so much for bullshit .... VSPEC: written in the newsletter is NOS=YES, SLICKS=NO as the only restrictions. where'd you make that up?
  7. ants, that thing drew a huge crowd
  8. the supercharged and turbocharged v8's werent allowed on the dyno, and if they did it had to be under 5psi or some crap. i dont think the 'trevs' are to worried
  9. saw the gtr on the dyno, that thing is insane wrx's cleaned up all the driving events bar the burnout comp
  10. arent r32's side feed? think i have this sorta sussed anyway cheers
  11. hey mick, i have someone who wants the injectors, sms me the guys number and ill pass it on.
  12. Hey guys im looking for a GTR fuel rail, im fairly sure thats what i need to fit new injectors but need to look at one to be sure. Any help would be appreciated Nick
  13. B&B Smash do a number of SERIOUS show cars, take a look at the black GT in perth street car a while back. dunno bout interiors... got any underbonnet mods planned?
  14. who does your tuning, best ive seen is around 800 for a remap which is the best option for a 32, but ive never ever seen anyone charge that for tuning an aftermarket ecu. initial dyno tune may be 200 and then touched up on the street at 60p/hr. any further mods may take an hour to fix up the mapping
  15. sure do, would save me stuffing around with wires for many hours as no plugins for r31 like there is for 32/3's. how are remaps with larger injectors? bangers 300+hp on stock turbs is a good indication of links ability.
  16. save a dozen maps on your pc give the bagging a rest, RIPS times are a recommendation for the stuff and ive seen 100's of cars run link with awesome results and no problems. objective debate might be better to base a decision on but is sometimes a little difficult for some pm me jimih i can help you out with heaps of cars running it but a remap would be cheaper and just as effective as an aftermarket ecu
  17. what do you know about link vspec? not much it seems
  18. was the coolant bled of air properly before this happened, if not itll spray everywhere if the coolant is even remotely warm, as i found out last time i tried to bleed the coolant from there, whoops. just do it from the little attatchment on the inlet manifold and check it again cant help with your other problems tho do you know what caused the head gasket to fail in the first place?
  19. I have a five dial safc for sale, with loom In perth, open to reasonable offers please pm Nick
  20. saw an orange 180 today (sunday) on a tray top truck around 12 or later in beechboro on benara crossing tonkin. same car?
  21. five dial air flow convertor
  22. i have a five dial if your interested
  23. tuning an safc shouldnt cost more than 100bucks, so your looking at around 400 for a secong hand one tuned if you install yourself (easy) the front mount doesnt give you much more power untill the car is tuned to make the most of it. even if you plan on doing powerfc down the track its quite easy to sell an safc for the same price you bought it for
  24. im in, but when?? i would like to get 300 at my next dyno, what do i need to do to get it there steve, im planning wolf ecu, gtr inj, bosch fuel pump...anything else??
  25. after a week at 250 mine started missfiring and carrying on at fullboost. was fixed by regapping to 0.6, std coil packs arent strong enough
